This is our second time staying at this home. The home is very comfortable, and the screened porch is such a lovely place to enjoy the lake and not be eaten by mosquitoes. The beds were comfortable. The walk to the lake was short and not too sleep for us old folks. We love the property, and have loved communicating with the actual the home owners. Unfortunately, recently they opted to go with Casago, which we have found much less favorable. All business, and their follow up with our questions took weeks. That said, we love the place and location.

What a great place to stay on Smith Mountain Lake. House was lovely and suited our needs. Screen porch facing Lake, nice large dock to enjoy sunshine or shade with floating dock to launch boat or swim from. Big yard and nice sandy beach were a bonus. Inside house is nicely updated with comfortable beds and furniture. Nice kitchen and full size refrigerator. Enjoyed using kayaks and grilling brats and hotdogs on a nice large propane grill. Overall had a wonderful time at Evergreen and highly recommend staying here at this scenic and tranquil spot on the lake. Also close to restaurants and grocery stores.

We had a problem with a rat in the ceiling gnawing at the aluminum ceiling--so loud one of the kids refused to sleep alone--and we left messages and called Casago to get someone out there but they never responded or returned calls. Lived with the rat for 3 days of our vacation and still had heard nothing by the time we checked out and left.

We really enjoyed the location. The dock was perfect for all the lake activities and the cove provided a nice safe place for kids to swim and jump off the dock.

Nice home on a beautiful lot, with gorgeous views of the lake!

The home was stocked well with everything you would need, including games for the family. It was clean and provided plenty of towels/linens; and it was also nice having a washer/dryer. The yard/beach/dock areas were very nice; with a very short walk to the dock. Beautiful lake views!

Great location, basic house

The location of this home and its dock and yard are its selling features. We really enjoyed swimming from the dock which was an easy paved walk from the house. We wish we had brought some camping chairs because the furniture on the screened porch and dock was not comfortable for lounging. The house is simple and has everything you need, but the beds and mattresses may be due for an upgrade soon. Overall, this house was a good value for a long weekend.

The dock is the highlight!

Despite losing a day to bad weather on our short trip, we had a great stay in this property. The house was clean and had everything we needed. We spent nearly every moment out on the dock swimming, fishing and kayaking. The house was about 10 minutes from a restaurant and convenient store and about 20 minutes from a grocery store. Depending on the nightly price, we would stay here again.

Great Proximity to the Lake

We had a lovely stay at Evergreen. The house was wonderful and well stocked. The best part was how close the house is to the lake shore. There is a small "beach" area at the end of the yard so we just waded in. There is also a sidewalk leading to the well maintained dock. Lots of chairs on the dock! Our two Golden Retrievers had the best time! Lots of swimming for them. I look forward to returning!

Great Peaceful Retreat

You can't ask for a better little house by the lake in a very nice area. Views and Lake access are amazing. Beds are comfortable. Plenty of kitchen items to use, nothing we were missing. It was nice to have a full refrigerator down at the boat house as we spent our days down on the dock. The Kayaks were a nice added feature. We took them out a couple times. The lot has a gentle slope, and a paved walkway down to dock. The screened in porch was nice at night to keep the bugs away but still enjoy the lake. Would definitely stay again.

Nice home on the Lake

We used this house mainly as a home base for a fishing trip on Smith Mountain Lake. This place was perfect since we could walk right down to the dock on the water and enjoy all the great views. Everything in the house was in good working order, which is always important. The chairs and couches were clean and comfortable. The master bedroom was very spacious and the other bedrooms were more than adequate. All the rooms were clean. Again, for me, everything worked as expected, and the outside grill did a nice job on dinners. It comfortably holds 6 people and I would recommend this as a place to stay.

Will never use Vacasa again. I was lied to by the booking agent. House was clean on inside but outside furniture was dirty and covered in cob webs. Tables were dirty, no trash bags.

We have addressed the issue reported with our housekeeping team to ensure that attention is placed on the outside, as well as keeping the supplies stocked. This home is in a wooded area and with the trees blooming and pollen in the air, the outdoor furniture quickly gets 'dirty' due to everything floating in the air. Also because of the wooded area, there isn't much that we can do about the cobwebs on the outside. We try to maintain our homes in the best condition possible and are truly sorry that we fell short of your expectations in this instance. We truly hope to host you for a more comfortable stay in the future, thank you.

Need new furniture

The online summary was written way too perfect. The living room furniture was stained, had tears in the fabric, and no support. Once you sat down you sunk down deep and couldn't easily get out. The metal chairs at the dining table were narrow and hurt your back where they pressed into your flesh. All this old stuff needs to be replaced. I slept in the bedroom with the very old fullsize mattress and box spring. The mattress had a large dip in the middle and was not a plush, comfortable mattress at all. You need to replace areas of woodrotted kitchen cabinets and trim and exterior wood rot around the house. I don't think the house as it is will be worth the increased rent you will charge during summer prime time. Loved the house location on the lake and the lake access with the dock and all. That was a real perk. The firepit is very cool as well.

Not worth the price

We have stayed at this property numerous times in the past and feel the quality has gone downhill. We had a few minor issues which we did not report to the property management as we prefer not to be disturbed. However, there was one large issue that we did report which went unaddressed. Upon arrival we noticed the fire pit was overflowing with yard debris/waste to the point where it was unusable. We reported the issue through the VRBO app and received a response relatively quickly from Vacasa. However, the response was provided by an answering service who stated they will get in touch with the property management to get the issue resolved. That was the last we heard from them and nothing was ever done to resolve the problem. We enjoy nightly campfires and that is part of our draw to this property. Given the high cost of this rental, I expect issues which prevent full use of the property to be resolved promptly instead of ignored. To be fair, the home is on a fairly level double lot and the screened in porch is nice for morning breakfast. I would have given this property four stars however the lack of response from management caused a degradation in the rating. Based on our experience, I honestly feel this property is overpriced by 100%. If you are booking late, selection is limited, or you have extra cash to blow, this house will do just fine.
