Launch your adventures from the "Base Camp" in historic East Lawrence, and let this cozy pad be your headquarters for exploring KU and Lawrence at large. Walk a few minutes to the shopping, food, and night life of Mass Street. Bikes can take you to "The Booth," and Allen Fieldhouse is only a few minutes' drive. KC and the airport are easy, often less than an hour. Aside from a rich academic and sporting tradition here, Lawrence has a fascinating history and historical museum just a few blocks away. The University's art and natural history museums are also knockouts.

Here at the Base Camp, you'll find one comfy queen-size bed in the bedroom, with a queen-sized sofabed in the spacious living room. The kitchen is built to work, with all new appliances (including dishwasher and disposal) and a washer/dryer stack behind the curtain. Decent knives, cookware that's worth a darn, and full-size coffee maker (plus a Moka pot, plus a cold brew outfit).

This would be a great spot for one person or a couple, and as many as four people could make it work if they all got along. You'll have a private entrance and ample on-street parking. Groceries, pharmacies, and a pretty nice liquor store are within easy striking distance for last-minute essentials.


We've got fast internet and most streaming services available through the living room TV. Good selection of games and a funky, eclectic library full of graphic novels, literary fiction, art books, and stuff for kids. We tried to think of all the things we've found missing in other rentals and get out in front of those problems. The "Base Camp" has everything you need for a relaxed time kicking around Lawrence.
