After a walk along the coast or a beach day nearby, everyone will love returning home to chill out and kick their feet up while the chef of the group whips up something tasty in the full kitchen. With a gas range, immaculate granite countertops, and a large island, there will be no trouble preparing even the most challenging culinary creations! As the sun begins to go down each night, the kids can play in the yard and the adults can enjoy a glass of wine to finish the day on a high note. Perched in the beautiful foliage of Spruceworld, this home will provide a sense of peace and quiet, yet is mere minutes from all of the best coastal attractions nearby. For a fun experience that the whole family will enjoy, head up to the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, just under five miles away, and explore the beautiful flowers and plants that make this area famous. Make your way four miles west and you will find the Maine State Aquarium offering seasonal exhibits of various marine animals and habitats. When everyone has worked up an appetite, stop into one of the local restaurants, and get your fill of fresh seafood! This house could be perfect - adorable, great location, well appointed - but it has a mold problem. The smell is overwhelming. We considered leaving in the middle of the first night when we woke up ill, but with six people including a baby there was nothing available last min without changing vacation plans. Since cool temps/clear skies were forecasted for our week we decided to live with the windows open/fans on/air on 24/7 and that helped. We brought the mold issue up with the mngmt agency and it was dismissed as a problem that could be solved with a dehumidifier. The person we spoke to was almost defensive. Yet there is visible mold in the master bath (saw in another review a water damage issue in that same room) and the other bathroom smells of mold too though we couldn't see it. The entire house smells. Maybe a basement issue?? Without professional remediation this house will continue to smell and possibly be a health hazard. All our clothes smelled when we left. Also, we felt misled about air conditioning as noted in the listing. There were no window units in listing photos, so we incorrectly assumed there was central air. In actuality there was only one small window unit in the dining room, which is inadequate for a 3-bedroom home. We wish we could be more generous but someone knew about the mold issue and rented it anyway, putting our baby/kids/family at health risk and then dismissive of our concerns. Perhaps even the owners don't know? Flagging for all involved.

I enjoyed my stay at this lovely house in Boothbay Harbor. It was just outside of town, so it was quiet but we had easy access to the town. There were four of us and there was plenty of room. The place was cute and clean and comfortable. I’d stay there again.

Cozy cottage in a great location

We enjoyed our stay in this clean and well appointed cottage. The location is great. Neighborhood is quiet and it's close enough to walk to the footbridge to get into town. The house has everything you'll need for a comfortable stay.

Clean and location is amazing!

We had a wonderful stay! Perfect location to Boothbay and surrounding areas! The home was very clean and it was great have 2 full baths. Planning on booking again next year!

Excellent Boothbay stay

Great location on a quiet stretch of road minutes from Boothbay Harbor. House was very clean and very comfortable for our family of 4 adults. Large well equipped kitchen and comfortable livingroom area.

Cute, clean and nice location

Nice, clean home within a shirt drive to downtown shopping area. Kitchen is very amply stocked so if you want to cook you’ll be well equipped.

Fantastic Fall retreat

We had a wonderful, comfortable time here. The house has everything you could need. The king bed was comfortable and we felt right at home. Can’t wait to come back.

Spotlessly clean, cozy, close to town and the most comfortable beds ever in any rental we have had through VRBO. We loved our stay and highly recommend this property. It's a gem.

Clean Cottage

Cottage was VERY clean and close to town. We really enjoyed our week long stay. The ONLY thing that is missing is a designated outdoor area to sit and enjoy the nice weather. We improvised and took chairs from inside and made our own little "porch". Had a great time!

Wonderful Home

The home was very warm and inviting! We were pleasantly surprised by a bouquet of fresh cut flowers. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking ware and the beds were cozy. The next time we visit East Booth Bay we will definitely stay here again. The owners has done well make this rental feel like a home away from home.

Perfect Location

We were coming up to Booth Bay Harbor for a family reunion and of course we all needed a place to stay. This house was super - three bedrooms and all in great rooms. The house is well stocked and had everything we needed even though we were not there that much - it was a perfect "home base" for sleeping and breakfast. We appreciated the artwork and the door stop collection.

Wonderful

Clean and welcoming. Problem getting into house. Took too long to resolve. 15 -20 minutes. Not doing laundry when you pay for cleaning service. Close to town and plenty of parking.

2nd stay

This was our second stay this year and we enjoyed it as much as the first stay. We did notice the owner added charging stations in the bedrooms and living room. They also added motion lights to the exterior of the house. We had a comfortable stay and enjoyed seeing the wildlife that would visit us in the yard. This is a wonderful and quiet getaway

A great place in Maine

We stayed in the Captains Cottage with five people, three siblings who began visiting Boothbay Harbor as children. The cottage has a very convenient location, only a mile walk into town. And the layout of the cottage was very comfortable for two couples and a single, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The kitchen was spacious and well equipped, and the dining area and living room were very spacious. We enjoyed our stay and would return to the cottage and Boothbay Harbor again!
