Upon arrival, the home was very clean and appeared to have newer furniture. The kitchen was a bit small but worked fine for our family and was stocked with everything you would need. The bathroom showers were a bit small and I could not find a broom or dustpan and the vacuum did not pick up very well. James was a wonderful host. Replied back to my messages very quickly. The steps were a little tricky to get across the dune to the beach. They need to be cleared off. The sunrises were beautiful from the deck. Overall our stay was wonderful and would definitely stay here again.

Very nice, clean home. Kitchen is on the smaller side but well equipped. Walk-in shower was quite small as well. The deck leading up to the front door will need replacing soon. One of our guests ended up with a 2” splinter from the handrailing. Also as mentioned by a previous guest, there is basically no beach access from the house. The host did disclose this after the fact, but it was a disappointment to have to use the public beach access vs our own private beach access. Other than that, the sunsets from the top deck were amazing. Plenty of outdoor seating for our group. Beach chairs were also provided and appreciated. The beach itself was absolutely beautiful and dog-friendly. We were there mid-June, and the water was perfect. If we were not enjoying the beach, we were taking a wild horse tour, going on an offshore fishing charter. climbing the Curritick lighthouse, or enjoying Duck Donuts. Great time overall.

Thank you so much, Mary! I am so glad you enjoyed the sunsets from the top deck, the outdoor seating, and the beach chairs, and it sounds like you made the most of everything the area has to offer. I do want to apologize about the handrailing splinter and will have that deck inspected and repaired right away. I hope to have you back again sometime!

Host was a good communicator but he down played my “ direct access “ -as shown in the listing. One of the reasons I booked this particular house was for the oceanfront AND direct beach access. There is a wooden walkway and steps leading to the beach. It appears to us as though the winter winds covered half the steps and caused a 5-6 foot dune at the top of the steps making it impossible to climb over carrying beach chairs or an umbrella or a cooler. On the beach side -again-the top of the stairs were covered in sand and the dune at the top of the stairs was impassable by foot unless you are very athletic All of the other houses had cleared their steps or were in the process of clearing them. When I pointed this out to the host he said he would change the listing and we could walk down to access the beach by the public access walkway. Indeed he did change the listing to if you have “ mobility issues “ you may not be able to use the walkway. I have two photos showing the steps. One -house to the beach clearly showing the sand and the dune -one from the top of the dune -after my husband climbed it-looking down to beach -showing how much sand is covering the steps.Also the dryer works but has no handle on the door so once you close it you must find an alternate way to pry open the door. We did find the house clean and neat. The appliances and bathrooms were older but useable. The furniture is new and the flooring appears new also. The location on the beach was beautiful.

I'm sorry the beach access wasn't what you expected. The dunes and beach conditions can change significantly with the weather, and while that's unfortunately outside of our control, I updated the listing after your stay to better reflect the current access conditions.
