We rented this property because of its capacity and because of its proximity to a wedding we were attending. When we arrived, there was a very strong varnish odor throughout the house from the recently refinished wood. Several guests developed headaches from the odor, and it remained noticeable during our stay. Shortly after arriving, my daughter went outside to check the pool temperature. When she stepped onto the first step at the shallow end, her foot slipped on the slick surface and she injured her knee. She had to wear a knee brace for the remainder of the weekend.The biggest issue during our stay was the air conditioning. We set the thermostats to 72 degrees, which was the minimum temperature recommended in the house instructions. Despite this, the temperature inside was approximately 78 degrees downstairs and 79–80 degrees upstairs. Eight of the nine bedrooms are upstairs. We purchased fans to improve air circulation in the bedrooms, but the upstairs bedrooms were still approximately 76 degrees at night and as a result, our group had significant difficulty sleeping. We contacted the host the following day to report the problem. The host sent an HVAC technician to the property Sunday morning. He told us that the air-conditioning system was not adequately sized, to include return air ducts,to keep up with the demand of the house during Texas summers. One of the beds had minimal support causing it to sag. This property should not be rented until these problems are fixed
