The Space:

Welcome to the Reed House - a cozy two story home located in the center of charming Dillsboro. Enjoy the mountains without the hassle of having to navigate a vehicle through the steep backroads. The house, originally built in 1906, is remodeled with a modern kitchen, gas fireplace, and all the comforts of home. You will love sitting on the front porch and taking in the sights and sounds of the town. Head out to the back deck and watch the sun fall behind the mountains in the evening.



As night falls, retire upstairs to one of the comfortable and well-appointed bedrooms. Since the house is right in town, guests can walk to all the shops, restaurants, the train station, and the river rafting facility. Just a short drive to other nearby towns to explore the local culture. Miles of trails are available close by for hiking and exploring the surrounding wilderness.



Things to Know Outdoor steps lead down from parking area to the home. Limited cell service and GPS. This property is managed by VueStay Vacations.

Great location in downtown dillsboro. We were WCU alumni visiting town, and it was great being close to campus and around sylva and dillsboro again. Easy access to walk across the street to shops, restaurants, and the brewery. Fit the needs of a family of four perfectly for a mountain getaway for a few days. Highly recommend.

Lots of steps....! Great location in the heart of dillsboro, but lots of steps! The parking is 2 stories higher than the house in behind of the house. So carrying luggage was a workout.. The stairs to the 2 bedrooms are steep as well ( 100 year old house). The remodeling and improvements to an old farm house are wonderful...the character of the house remains. 2 adults max. I loved being there. We were part of a glass festival and the venue was across the street. It couldn't be in a better location!

Great Place!

This was a great place to just relax and enjoy the beautiful area. The Hosts were great and I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a quaint place to stay. It is located close to great restaurants, breweries, shopping and fishing!

Peaceful getaway

We enjoyed the peacefulness of the home as well as the outdoor areas (front porch and yard swing especially). The kitchen is well-stocked too, which was great.

Fantastic house in a great location!

Absolutely wonderful house in charming Dillsboro! Our family stayed at the Reed House for WCU’s Parents Weekend and it was perfect. We will definitely be back, thank you for a great stay!

We loved our stay at Reed House! It was easy to check in when we arrived. The house was even better than the pictures! Close to everything in Dillsboro and WCU. We were there to move our son in for his first year of college. We definitely would love to stay again on our return trips to the area!!

Great experience

We loved the location of the house, the ease of accessing the house, and the fact that the house had everything we needed. We will definitely consider staying here again! We highly recommend visiting the Dillsboro area and staying at the Reed house when you do!

Amazing stay at the Reed House!

The location is perfect and walking distance to several restaurants, shops and a brewery. The home is decorated adorably, was super clean and the beds were very comfy. We loved everything about the home including the little fireplace and the front porch and back patio. We didn't bring our dogs on this trip but love knowing that we can! We will definitely be back!

The biggest problem with this rental is the amount of steps to get to the house, 20 steps, downhill with suitcases, then 10 steps in the stairwell upstairs inside, create loads of lifting and carrying luggage.Also, the directions to find the property are poor. They need a much clearer direction to the property, And you have a significant sharp right turn to get to the one parking spot allotted to the property.We were less than fortunate to run into the neighbor, a somewhat elderly lady, that was way unfriendly and told us we needed to move our car to one small area, (and our car is a large suv) and although two parking spots are marked for the property….She told us her property marker, and deed leave this property with one parking spot.The showers are set up for short people. I am 6 foot plus tall and had a hard time with the showers.Also, the carpets had a strange smell and were somewhat soggy.The location is excellent, but you need to be aware of the age of the house, the massive amount of steps up and down to the property, and the older style of the home that focuses on someone between 4 foot and 5 foot 7

The listing does describe the property's stairs, hillside setting, and older character so guests know what to expect, and we always welcome questions before booking, but we understand that experiencing it firsthand is another matter entirely. We're also sorry to hear about the interaction with the neighbor over parking. The parking arrangement is tied to the property's deed and community lines, which sits outside what we can change, though we know that made for an unwelcome start. Pilgrimage.

The Reed House was quaint with lots of character and well appointed for our needs. However, the housekeeping could have been more detailed: baseboards very dirty; carpet lacked vacuuming in the bedrooms; bathroom floors were dirty.

Quaint and cozy winter getaway

We absolutely loved staying in this quaint and cozy home right in the center of downtown Dillsboro. The yard was fenced and perfect for our 20lb pup to investigate and zoom around in. We were there for a snow storm and thoroughly enjoyed watching the snow fall from in front of the living room fireplace. The owner was very communicative and went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. Will definitely return!!

A Beautiful Comfortable Home in The Heart of Dillsboro

We loved the convenience of walking everywhere, the views from the cozy front porch and the relaxing back patio. It was nice having a kitchen stocked with all the essentials, just bring the food! Beds were so comfy and the home was quiet inside at night, as well as during the evening. Each bathroom had shampoo, conditioners, soaps, even a hairdryer! House temperature was perfect the minute we walked in the door! We will certainly be back to visit The Reed House again!

Charming and convenient

We loved the porch and patio. Rarely stayed inside because the location and yard were perfect. Easy walk to many restaurants and shops. Great for 3 women in our 50s-60s to catch up relax and explore the area. The stairs to the house and stairs in the house were alot after a day of walking, but id do it again anyways!! Great hosts, well equipped home and comfortable.

Dillsboro

This is a great location. An hour to Ashville and less than 30 minutes to Bryson City and to the casino at Cherokee. Also literally downtown Dillsboro . Sylva right next door. If you want an upscale restaurant definitely try the Chefs Table in Sylva.

Great location clean property

Everything was there and a great location. Just FYI the grill is not gas like the listing says it’s charcoal. Only down side to the place is the 2 recliners in the living room are totally worn out and so uncomfortable there was 2 open days after our check out date that we going to call and stay but the recliners so horrible we went to another cabin.
