Entertainment



Hartwood K keeps things simple and relaxing - the focus here is on the views, the fireplace, and good company. With five TVs spread across both levels, there is always a screen where you need one, whether the kids are winding down in the bunk room or the adults are settling in by the fire.



Kitchen & Dining



The kitchen is stocked and ready for everything from lazy morning coffee to a full holiday-style dinner. You will find a coffee maker, blender, crockpot, toaster, and a complete range of cookware including roasting pans, baking pans, and mixing bowls. Dishware and utensils are provided per guest, so no one is left without a place at the table. A dishwasher and garbage disposal make cleanup easy, and the refrigerator and stove handle all the heavy lifting.



Technology



Five TVs are spread throughout the property - a 56-inch in the upper living room, a 65-inch smart TV in the lower living room, a 26-inch in the upper bedroom, a 33-inch in the bunk room, and a 33-inch in the lower level bedroom. All TVs except the lower level smart TV are equipped with Roku devices for streaming. WiFi is provided through Xfinity, with the router located on the upper level next to the TV.



Laundry



An in-unit washer and dryer combo is available for your use - a welcome convenience for longer stays.



Outdoor



The setting here is the amenity. Step outside and soak in the mountain and lake scenery that makes McHenry one of Maryland's most beloved mountain destinations. A doormat and lockbox are located at the back porch entry. Note: no grill, fire pit, or hot tub on-site.



Guest Access:

Check-in is a breeze with self-check-in via the lockbox on the back porch. Parking for 2 vehicles is available in the Black Bear parking lot across the main road. The driveway is paved but steep - 4WD is strongly recommended, particularly during winter months when road salt and a snow shovel are kept on-site for your use. Your host is available if you need anything during your stay.

Other Things to Note:

★ No pets allowed

★ No smoking is permitted anywhere on the property, including outdoor areas such as the yard, balcony, or patio. Violation of this policy will result in additional cleaning fees.

★ The driveway is steep - 4WD required November through March

★ 2 stairs to the front door and 14 stairs between levels - not ideal for guests with significant mobility limitations

★ Quiet neighborhood setting - please be respectful of neighbors

★ Dumpster for trash is located in the lower parking lot

★ Smoke detectors, CO detector, and fire extinguisher (under kitchen sink) are in place for your safety
