A houseboat vacation—it’s a dream many people have. Why not make that dream come true? Why spend your vacation by the water when you can enjoy it right on the water? And you won’t have to go without anything. Does that sound tempting? Then come aboard. Our stationary houseboat offers everything you need for relaxation and enjoyment—whether it’s for a weekend or a two-week vacation. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS HOUSEBOAT CANNOT BE SAILED. From the comfort of your houseboat, discover the stunningly beautiful landscapes and picturesque towns in the region between Nijmegen, Venlo, and the Lower Rhine—whether by water or, for example, by bike. Enjoy your stay on board and feel almost right at home. You won’t have to do without a well-equipped kitchen or a modern bathroom. Wake up to a cup of coffee and a view of the water. Or treat yourself to a glass of wine on the rooftop terrace in the evening and gaze at the starry sky. A houseboat vacation is an unforgettable experience that you’re sure to cherish forever. What is a houseboat? A houseboat is a floating home where you can live just like in an apartment. Unlike a recreational boat, it has a rectangular shape, so you can feel right at home. Unlike a houseboat that is permanently moored and has no propulsion, you can actually cast off and sail with a houseboat. Unfortunately, sailing our houseboat is currently not possible; the houseboat is rented out as a vacation rental WITHOUT the ability to sail. Can you sail the houseboat? You cannot sail our houseboat. Instead, we offer you a stand-up paddleboard (SUP) and a sailing dinghy (Korsar), which you can use to explore the area and enjoy all the water sports you could wish for. Where is the houseboat located? The houseboat is located in the border region between Germany and the Netherlands. The area is also known as De Bijland. Today, the area is known as a recreational destination, particularly for water sports. Home Port “De Bijland” Our houseboat is moored in the idyllic harbor “De Bijland.” The De Bijland marina is the perfect starting point for houseboat vacationers to explore the surrounding area. You can set out on boat tours right from the dock, while hiking and biking trails through the picturesque countryside of the Gelderse Poort are just a few steps away. Day trips by car to the region’s attractions around the Rhine, Waal, and IJssel rivers are also easily possible. PLEASE NOTE: Our houseboat is NOT a party boat. Out of consideration for other boat owners and guests in the marina, we ask that you refrain from making unnecessary noise outdoors between 10:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. For anyone looking for a nice venue for, say, a bachelor party, our houseboat is NOT the right choice.
