Situated above town, Summit Haus offers easy access to Idyllwild’s hiking trails, local shops, restaurants, galleries, and mountain adventures while maintaining a peaceful, tucked-away feel.



🚗 IMPORTANT ACCESS INFORMATION



Summit Haus earns its name. Access to the home requires navigating a steep driveway and a substantial staircase.



On-site parking is available for guests comfortable driving up the steep driveway. Guests who prefer not to drive up the driveway may park on the street, but will still need to walk up the driveway and climb the staircase to reach the home.



Please review the listing photos carefully and ensure all members of your group are comfortable navigating steep terrain and stairs before booking.



❄️ WINTER ACCESS & PARKING ❄️



High-clearance 4x4 vehicles are REQUIRED during snow or icy conditions. Summit Haus has a steep mountain driveway, low-clearance or standard vehicles (even with chains) will not be able to safely navigate the approach when snow or ice is present.



We strongly encourage guests to check their preferred weather app before their trip and throughout their stay. If snow or ice is forecast and you don't have an appropriate vehicle, please plan to rent a high-clearance 4x4 for your trip. Chains may also be required depending on conditions. Cancellations due to snow or arriving without an appropriate vehicle are subject to the reservation's standard cancellation policy.



No snow or ice? No special vehicle is required. During normal, clear conditions—including non-snowy/icy winter days—standard vehicles can access the property. Low-clearance vehicles may have difficulty with the driveway approach, but street parking is available as an easy alternative in non-snow/ice conditions only.



During snow events, street parking is not available due to snow-plow operations, making the appropriate 4x4 vehicle necessary for accessing the property.



👧 CHILD SAFETY



Due to the steep hillside setting, staircase, elevated outdoor areas, and terrain surrounding the home, Summit Haus is not suitable for children under 8 years old. Infants who are not yet crawling or walking are welcome, as this safety concern does not apply to them.

On-site parking is available at the top of the driveway for guests comfortable driving up a steep grade. Guests who prefer not to drive up the driveway may park on the street, but will need to walk up the steep driveway and then climb the staircase to reach the home.

Located in a quiet residential neighborhood just minutes from the heart of downtown Idyllwild.



Getting Around:

You will need a car to enjoy your time at Summit Haus in Idyllwild. The town has no Ubers or Taxis.
