Nestled along the shores of Swinging Bridge Reservoir, Serenity Sunset House is part of a quiet, close-knit lake community with peaceful, low-speed roads and several dead-end streets. Enjoy the tranquility of lakeside living while remaining just 15 minutes from Monticello's shopping, restaurants, and everyday conveniences. For an evening out, the renowned Forestburgh Playhouse is also just a short drive away, offering live Broadway-style performances throughout the season.

Guests have exclusive access to the entire home, the backyard lawn, and the waterfront, including the private dock.

To help preserve the property, please do not drive vehicles beyond the top of the driveway. We also ask that you respect neighboring properties by staying off adjacent lawns, docks, and waterfront access areas.

Welcome to Serenity Sunset House, a peaceful lakefront retreat designed for gathering, relaxing, and taking in beautiful waterfront views. Perched above the shores of Swinging Bridge Reservoir, the home offers stunning lake views from much of the back of the house, creating the perfect backdrop for your getaway.

The main living level (second floor) features a bright, open-concept kitchen, dining area, and living room, making it easy for everyone to gather together while enjoying the view. This level also includes three bedrooms including the bunk room with a crib and a full bathroom.

Downstairs, you'll find a comfortable family room along with the private primary suite. The spacious primary bedroom features its own en suite full bathroom, offering a quiet retreat separate from the rest of the home.

Step outside to enjoy everything lakeside living has to offer. Dine together at the outdoor table overlooking the water, unwind around the fire pit as the sun sets, or spend your days swimming, fishing, or relaxing from the private dock. Guests are also welcome to enjoy the provided 4 kayaks and two paddle boards while exploring beautiful Swinging Bridge Reservoir.

At Casskell Stays, we believe your vacation should begin the moment you walk through the door. That's why we've stocked the home with many of the essentials to help you settle in without an extra trip to the store. You'll find a Nespresso coffee machine with complimentary coffee, sugar, and creamer, fresh linens and towels, hand and dish soaps, and basic cooking staples like olive oil, salt, and pepper. We take care of the little details so you can spend less time unpacking and more time making memories by the lake.

If you like walking and biking, the roads in lake community are quiet and perfect for a stroll. Traveling to Monticello and other nearby towns will require a vehicle. Parking is easy in most towns.

Any use of the lake by guests is done so at your own risk and with acknowledgement of water safety precautions. Please always wear a life jacket and never leave children under the age of 18 unattended near the water. We thank you in advance.

YEARLY FIRE BAN: Please note that New York State enforces an annual burn ban each spring (typically March through May), which prohibits outdoor burning, including campfires and fire pits. We kindly ask guests to follow all local regulations during this time.

Wildlife Is Part of the Charm. You may spot deer, turkeys, or even the occasional fox roaming the lawn—just one of the many perks of mountain life! Sometimes you’ll notice droppings outside; they’re harmless and actually great for the soil. Welcome to the countryside!

Respect the Quiet. Sound travels easily in the mountains—please keep outdoor noise to a minimum, especially at night, so everyone can enjoy the peace and stargazing.

Early check-ins and late check-outs are not guaranteed and are subject to availability. To reserve either option, guests may purchase up to 5 additional hours for a flat fee of $100.

GUEST COUNT POLICY: Only the number of guests listed on the reservation are permitted on the property. If additional, unregistered guests arrive, they may be asked to leave immediately without a refund.
