Pitch your tent on a 10’x15’ covered wooden platform tucked right at the edge of the woods, overlooking a peaceful saddle with distant mountain views. This elevated site offers a flat, dry, and sturdy base for your tent, surrounded by the soothing sounds of nature.

Perfect for campers who want a bit more comfort while staying close to nature, this site is just a short walk—about 300 feet uphill from the parking area—so be prepared to pack in your gear (we recommend a wagon or backpack). The gentle climb is rewarded with beautiful scenery.

You’ll be near our shared composting toilet and on-demand hot water outdoor shower, making your stay both convenient and eco-friendly. A shared fire pit is also available nearby for cooking, warmth, and gathering under the stars.

Wake to birdsong, enjoy morning light over the meadow, and wind down with the golden glow of sunset through the trees. This site strikes a perfect balance of open space and woodland—ideal for relaxing, wildlife observation, or simply soaking in the serenity of our off-grid homestead.

Looking to enhance your stay? Ask about homestead tours, private yoga or meditation sessions, or explore nearby opportunities for hiking, biking, kayaking, tubing, and ATV/UTV trails. We’re located within an easy drive of both Bristol and Abingdon, so you can enjoy both wilderness and town amenities during your trip.

This platform site is best suited for guests who value a peaceful, low-impact experience and don’t mind a short walk to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of our land. Come reset, reconnect, and camp with purpose.

No tent, no problem. We have two 5 person Eureka dome tents and one 4 person Kelty dome tent. We also have 3 complete hammock camping setups that include hammock, bug net, and rain fly. The tents and hammocks are available for rental at an additional fee.

Dempsey is a retired English teacher. He enjoys hiking, biking, and gardening.

Aron is a lifetime athlete and former U.S. Army paratrooper and OIF/OEF veteran. She is a certified and licensed Recreation Therapist. She is also a yoga and meditation teacher who specializes in trauma informed and adaptive practices.

For cyclists, we are within a short drive of the Virginia Creeper Trail, Mendota Trail, and Salt Trail. For the hiker, we are within a short drive of The Channels, The Pinnacles, and The Cleveland Barrens. Whether you are a cyclist, mountain biker, hiker, or paddler, you will find something near us to enjoy.
We offer both tent camping on raised wooden platforms for a comfortable, dry night's sleep, and traditional ground tent sites tucked into the meadow. All campers have access to our shared composting toilet, on-demand hot water outdoor camp shower, and a cozy shared fire pit—perfect for stargazing or making s’mores under the open sky.
If you just want to unplug and relax, Meadow Haven Farm offers an opportunity to spend time surrounding yourself in the natural world. For those interested in mindfulness, we offer yoga and meditation. If you are interested in sustainable living, we can share our experiences of going off-grid and organic gardening.
Meadow Haven Farm is an environmental restoration project set in the rolling hills of Southwest Virginia. The farm is an effort to reconnect with nature and live more intentionally. The farm’s name is an indication of our mission. Meadow refers to our ongoing efforts at restoring former cow pasture into wildflower meadows.
