Stylish "Dat Nest" attic vacation apartment in the heart of Schleswig’s Old Town: Featuring a south-facing balcony, a modern atmosphere, views of the Schlei, and great attention to detail.

In the shadow of Schleswig Cathedral, near Town Hall Square, nestled among the narrow streets of Schleswig’s Old Town, lies our vacation apartment “Dat Nest”!

It’s a typical Old Town lot—very narrow and long—that has been in the family for five generations. On this lot stand two residential buildings situated one behind the other. A courtyard separates the front building (built in 2001) from the rear building (built in 1995). We live in the rear building and the garden ourselves with our children and our cat. The vacation rental is located in the front house, which was almost entirely rebuilt in 2001 and, with its traditional architecture, blends stylishly into the cityscape of the cobblestone-paved old town alley.

We have renovated and furnished the attic apartment with great attention to detail. The apartment was recently renovated and enhanced with a number of treasures, both big and small (including gifts from dear friends—THANK YOU), which help bring the spirit of Schleswig and the surrounding countryside right into our home. The attic apartment features a south-facing balcony.

Nearby are the Holm, the Königswiesen with their swimming spots, and the shopping street. Our location is also a great starting point for bike tours or boat trips from the harbor.

A public, free parking lot is available about 100 meters behind City Hall. Of course, you’re welcome to pull up in front of the house to load and unload.

We look forward to welcoming YOU!
Renovated and furnished with great care, the apartment exudes a cozy, bright, and very modern atmosphere. The fully glazed gable facing the Schlei in the living room is wonderful for light and views. The open attic space extending all the way to the ridge creates an impressive sense of space here. An open floor plan dispels any typical attic feel. Here, you live as freely as a bird in its nest above Schleswig’s old town. You can enjoy plenty of light and sunshine on the south-facing balcony and in the open-concept rooms. Subtle views of the Schlei with its sailboats are also possible. “Dat Nest” features an open hallway leading to the south-facing combined living room and dining area, the very generously appointed kitchen with an open counter facing the living room (including a microwave, oven, and dishwasher), the north-facing bedroom overlooking Altstadtgasse, and a bathroom with a corner tub. The bedroom and bathroom are separate rooms. The kitchen and living area have open access to the hallway. Our attic vacation apartment can accommodate 2 to a maximum of 4 people. The bedroom features a double box-spring bed (1.60 m x 2.00 m) and a single bed (1.00 m x 2.00 m). The living room is furnished with a sleeper sofa (1.40 m x 2.00 m). The kitchen and bathroom are tiled; all other rooms feature high-quality laminate flooring. The south-facing balcony is accessible from the living room through a large double-hung patio door. The loft (accessible from the living room via a space-saving staircase) is not yet equipped with fall protection and is not included in the rental offer. Both vacation apartments share the front building and have a common entrance from the hallway. The shared stairwell with a wooden staircase leads to the respective hallways of the apartments.
