Bettina's house is located in the quiet neighborhood of Milbing, about a 20-minute walk southwest of the town center. The house features two identically laid-out 2-room apartments (51 square meters each) with a kitchen-dining area. Extensive renovation and remodeling work was carried out in 2020, bringing the house up to modern standards. It features 50 Mbit Wi-Fi, a cable connection, and solar-assisted gas central heating. The original charm of this 90-year-old house has been highlighted and preserved, such as the creaky hardwood floors on the upper floor. The garage, equipped with an electric charging station, offers space to park a vehicle and store bicycles (additional fee). The beautiful, approximately 550 m² garden, featuring a hot-water garden shower operational from approximately May through October, opens up to the southwest toward a stunning mountain backdrop surrounding the Wendelstein.
This cozy apartment is located on the upper floor, and its adjoining west-facing terrace (approx. 30 m²) offers a view of the Wendelstein mountain range. The cozy 51 m² apartment consists of a kitchen-diner with a custom-built seating area, a built-in kitchen with a dishwasher, a bedroom with a double bed (1.80 x 1.90 m sleeping area), a living room with a high-quality fold-out sofa bed (sleeping area 1.60 x 2.00 m), a wood-burning tiled stove and a flat-screen TV, a bathroom with a shower-tub combination, a hair dryer, and ample storage space, and a hallway with a coat rack. A special highlight is the exposed and renovated original spruce parquet flooring. Soft and creaky, it creates a particularly cozy atmosphere.
The Wendelstein cogwheel railway is just a short walk away. Shops for daily necessities are about a 20-minute walk away. There are excellent bakeries and butcher shops, as well as an old general store—a small supermarket. Hiking and biking trails are in the immediate vicinity (within walking distance). At the surrounding farm stands, you can buy dairy products, eggs, and z.Tl. vegetables.
Isabelle and Tobias Herbst use the house—which once belonged to their now-deceased great-aunt—as a retreat during their vacations, ensuring a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere in both the house and garden. Jams and culinary herbs made from the herbs, berries, and fruit grown in the garden are provided for guests. The hosts are committed to sustainable products, so they use only sustainable laundry detergents and cleaning supplies throughout the house. In each apartment, they provide sustainable dish soap and soap for daily use.
