The Ziebold family has lived in Freiamt for generations. This has led to the creation of the "Heidhof" inn, which has become an integral part of Freiamt. Freiamt is a popular vacation destination in spring, summer, fall, and winter. It’s ideally located for hikes in the beautiful Black Forest, as well as for day trips to France and Switzerland. A visit to Europa-Park in Rust—about a 30-minute drive from the Heidhof—is also a great family experience. As Germany’s largest theme park, it offers a vast array of attractions, including Europe’s largest and tallest steel roller coaster, the “Silver Star.” From Ottoschwanden, you can enjoy wonderful bus and car trips to the Black Forest, Lake Constance, Switzerland, or France’s Alsace region. Stylish dining areas, a terrace, home-style cooking, seasonal specialties, and quiet rooms. Cribs available, free carport use, and mountain bike rentals. Special weeks for motorcycling and Nordic walking, hikes, and day trips by car or motorcycle are also available by arrangement. We’re happy to offer half-board or breakfast.
