Great stay

We've stayed at Lost Colony several times, and we really enjoyed this house. It is more updated than the others.

Overall the stay and place was excellent. We love Lost Colony. We stayed in the same house years ago and we really enjoyed the updates. Just for awareness the top of the stairs to the deck was unfastened upon arrival and could be a safety hazard.

Great trip and location

This house was spacious, close to the pool and beach and was everything our group of 5 needed. The upper patio offered great views of the stars and the 2nd floor patio was a great place to relax in the heat of the day. This property didn't have any beach supplies so just a heads up to bring your beach toys and chairs which we did.

Yearly vacay

We travel yearly to Port A and this was a wonderful house. Being within walking distance to the beach was a must have and this house nailed it. To be outside on the balancing and see the ocean was so relaxing. Highly recommend

Fantastic house!!!

We loved our house with 2nd and 3rd levels having wonderful views of the gulf. Enjoy the covered 2nd floor deck to protect your from the sun and heat. Really beautifully finished out and furnished. Would absolutely tay again!!

beach access

clean property with close beach access. homes a little close together but no problems. blinds were not working but was only problem with property. will stay again

Good location but….

House is aged, cluttered(lots of unnecessary furniture and decor everywhere), not the cleanest home and worn chipped teflon pans. Also, no cleaning supplies.

Awesome

The house was perfect! Great decor, plenty of space, amenities, lots of dishes and utensils, access to beach is right there! So enjoyed the property. Only issue was with a neighbor complaint of noise. Weather was not cooperative, rain, so enjoyed time on deck and inside. I reached out to Vacasa support service and they were so helpful! Reviewed rules, which we were following and assured me that all was ok. Houses are close together. I will definitely book again with Vacasa! Something a bit more secluded! It was a great experience and my son enjoyed 18th birthday with friends and family!! Vacasa customer service is fantastic!

Easy access

Easy access to the pool and beach. The bathrooms are shower only, so no bath tubs. Something to consider if you have young kids who still bathe. The water pressure in the showers and kitchen sink is so low. The community pool was super dirty. The deck is in need of some repairs. Loose nails and planks. Other than no bath tub, low water pressure, and dirty pool, everything else was fine. The kids loved the bunk bed room. Took only like 2 mins to walk to the beach.

Really rough stay

We loved the location and the layout of the home. Unfortunately, there were some cleanliness and safety issues during our stay. The vents and surfaces were extremely dusty (one of our party left with a respiratory infection), the coffeepot glass had a hole and was cracked, and dead bugs were also all over the home. The back exterior stairs also had a nail that stuck out and nicked the ankle of someone in our party. As previously mentioned by another guest, blinds are sorely needed. There were some beach supplies provided, which was very nice. Local property manager was nice and responsive, but admitted the issues were due to a staffing. She did drop off a replacement coffee pot and supplies that were supposed to have been left by the cleaners. The property is run by a company called Vacasa, and unfortunately they didn't have much oversight as to what was happening with the local staff. Responses were also delayed because they had to speak to local staff to discuss next steps.

This house has it all!

This house had every single thing I wanted in a beach rental. It’s a very short walk to the beach…we didn’t have to drive our car on the beach at all, even with a ton of stuff like 5 beach chairs, a boogie board, a large cooler, cornhole boards, towels, etc. All of that was easily walked to the beach with a wagon on the short boardwalk. My dogs were welcome in the house. Many houses that allow pets are kind of run down or have visible damage caused by pets…that’s been my experience in the past at least. Definitely not the case here! The house was very clean and in perfect condition. I really hope that others that rent this house continue to respect the property by picking up after their pets and abiding by rules pertaining to pets so that the owners continue to allow them in this house. The house is away from crowds. We stayed during a popular Spring Break week in Port Aransas. The beach at this house was not crowded at all! Plenty of room to spread out and set up without having to walk far from the property’s boardwalk. The gated community is still close enough of a drive to Port Aransas or Padre Island to go to restaurants, stores, etc. within a 5-10 minute drive. There was hardly any noise at all from neighboring houses day or night. It was so peaceful for our entire stay. The kitchen is stocked with all the appliances, dishes, pots, pans, and utensils you’ll need…one of the best stocked kitchens in a rental house I’ve seen! There are large tvs in both bedrooms upstairs and also downstairs in the living room. The WiFi worked great the whole time…even with three of us working remotely with video conferences while others were streaming movies on the living room tv. There are a few sets of stairs…one from the front door to the main floor, then another up to the two bedrooms, and also from the main floor deck down to the yard/pool area/beach access. If anyone in your party has trouble climbing stairs, it may be an issue. We had the best vacation here and the house was a big part of that. All of us felt at home here during our entire stay. I will definitely plan any future trips back to Port Aransas around the availability of this house.
