El Nopal Studio in the Capay Valley

The Nopal Art Studio is located in a converted barn on a small farm and features a pullout queen size bed and a sofa, with plenty of floor space for additional camping mats or air mattresses. The kitchen has everything you need, including a full sized electric stove, pantry staples, a coffee maker and a french press, coffee and fresh farm grown add ons. Bathroom has a clawfoot tub for soaking after a long day checking out wineries or attending festivals. There is air conditioning and portable heaters. We do have a wood fired stove, but we charge extra for it's use, and you must participate in a hands-on demo from the host at check in on how to use it safely.

You will find many of our art projects & musical instruments accenting the space. The lizard mosaic and cactus mural will inspire you to create during your stay. Art supplies, toys for kids and musical instruments available, just ask! Outside, you will find a shared courtyard space where you can interact with the other guests staying in the cabins, or stay completely private in your own outdoor space on the other side of the building, outside the sliding glass doors, which feature sunset views. The courtyard has a outdoor shower, which is available for your use. Our sheep and goats are about 20 feet from your windows. Timmy and Jimmy (the goats) will beg for treats, and we also have chickens and ducks which will greet you at sunrise!

Wildlife is plentiful and the skies are usually free from light pollution for star gazing.
