The vacation rental has its own terrace with outdoor seating. A garden and outdoor furniture are also at your disposal. Bicycles can be stored in a wooden garage. There is a parking space on the property. Pets are not allowed. The vacation rental is a smoke-free property. Our vacation rental is located in the fenlands of southern East Frisia. You’ll find a landscape featuring historic fen and Gulf houses, old brick churches, windmills, dikes, meadows, hedgerows, moors, and picturesque villages. Our fen villages are former moorland settlements that developed along a canal. We call these canals "Wieken." To this day, you can cross the Wieken via white bascule bridges. Our "Lootsenhuus" is surrounded by an 8,000 m² natural garden plot with a small grove and invites you to linger, relax, and observe wildlife. Discover the East Frisian tradition of tea drinking, the Low German language, East Frisian humor, the vastness of the Wadden Sea, and the North Sea beaches on an excursion to the coast (approx. 70 km) or to the East Frisian islands. Explore the Wadden Sea on a mudflat hike with entertaining guides.
You can also visit the maritime cities of Leer, Papenburg, and Emden.
Ostrhauderfehn is particularly well-suited for hikes or bike rides along the Wieken, through the moor, through the Holter Hammrich, or along the East Frisian hiking trail. Take some time for a leisurely break at the Holter Wienkeller, the Cafe am Siel, or the Dorfcafe in Potshausen. Cool off in one of the area’s swimming lakes, such as Lake Ida, Lake Stickhauser, or Lake Hollener. Anglers will also find plenty to enjoy here. Well then, let’s get going! We look forward to seeing you! Birgit and Friedhelm Loots
