Built by my great-grandfather, run by my grandmother, my aunt, and now by me, this house has been a place to feel at home for generations. Whether you’re spending time as a couple, with friends, or with family, the house—with its three apartments—invites you to linger and leaves nothing to be desired. In the outdoor area behind the house, you can enjoy Fehmarn’s more than 2,200 hours of sunshine all year round. Two terraces and a spacious rooftop terrace offer a private space for every group, and everyone can relax in the garden however they please.
Just a few minutes’ walk to the harbor,
a leisurely stroll to the romantic center of Burg, or a short bike ride.
By bike, along the inland lake, you’ll be at the beach in just 8 minutes by bike
But the house isn’t just impressive because of its lovingly furnished apartments and the opportunity to grill your own food in the afternoon and evening sun, far away from the hustle and bustle. Its excellent location, which makes for short distances and allows you to simply leave the car behind, is also worth highlighting. In just a few minutes’ walk, you can reach the harbor, which invites you to enjoy the lively atmosphere in its restaurants and cafés. There are also attractions nearby, such as “the Submarine Museum” and “the Dark Experiment.”
The center of Burg is just as easy to reach. In just 20 minutes, you’ll find a diverse selection of shops—from clothing and daily groceries to gorgeous home décor—making a stroll well worth your time! A diverse range of dining options is available to refuel. Whether it’s the cozy “Café Traube,” which impresses with excellent fresh pastries in the afternoon, the ice cream parlor “Burg Eis,” or various restaurants—from the Italian “Doppeleiche,” “Penelope’s Grill House,” the Greek restaurant “Korfu,” or one of the many seafood restaurants—there’s something to satisfy everyone’s appetite here.
Even in the evening, Burg offers the chance to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with darts, pool, or special drinks at the “SIT IN BAR” and the “B1.”
Just a stone’s throw away by bike is what is probably Fehmarn’s most famous stretch of coastline—the Südstrand. Passing through the harbor and along the Burger Binnensee, you can reach the sea via a bike path in 10 minutes. Given the natural surroundings, the 30-minute walk is no trouble at all. Once you reach Burgtiefe, it’s not easy to choose between a stroll along the beach or exploring the marina. In the summer, the many yachts here are a sight to behold. The Südstrand offers a wide selection of playgrounds, a swimming beach, and plenty of places to stop for a bite to eat. I’d especially like to highlight the “360° Bar,” which invites you to enjoy a refreshing drink on the rooftop terrace or, on colder days, take in the sea view while sipping a warm beverage. I’d also like to highlight “Chillaz” on the pier, with its cool beach bar, the wind-sheltered sun terrace, and the indoor area—which, thanks to its glass walls, makes you feel like you’re sitting right by the sea even when you’re inside. It’s clear—HELLO VACATION!
The island of Fehmarn has a lot to offer. Some places are within walking or biking distance, while others are just a short drive away.
