We rent out a cozy vacation apartment in Sassnitz on the island of Rügen that sleeps 4–5 people. We converted the apartment in our house about 15 years ago. It’s located behind the LOGBUCH bookstore and is centrally located. From here, you can easily explore the island of Rügen—with all its beautiful nature and sights—on foot, by bike, by bus and train, or by car. The apartment features two separate bedrooms—one with a double bed and the other with a catamaran-style bunk bed (the bottom bunk is 140 cm wide, the top 90 cm)—a kitchen-living room, and a bathroom with a shower. The kitchen-living room also serves as the entryway, featuring a cozy sofa, TV, and radio, as well as a large dining table. The kitchenette is equipped with a stove featuring a ceramic cooktop and oven, a traditional coffee maker, a toaster, a kettle, a dishwasher, and a refrigerator with a freezer compartment. Glasses, dishes, pots, pans, and cutlery are, of course, provided. A small selection of basic spices, coffee filters, dish soap and dishwasher tablets, as well as parchment paper, is also included. Both bedrooms have books for adults and children, and a selection of various games is also available. There is a wooden deck in front of the apartment. You can park your car and bicycles on the property.
Charging electric cars is not permitted.
The Sassnitz city harbor is a 5-minute walk away. There’s always something going on there. From there, excursion boats depart for the chalk cliffs or seaside resorts such as Binz, Sellin, and Göhren. Many restaurants, a playground, and the long pier invite you to linger. The small, picturesque old town is also not far away. Using public transportation—bus stops are 150 meters away—and the regional train, you can take lovely trips to the surrounding area (e.g., the National Park Center at Königsstuhl) or to Stralsund, for example, even without a car.
