If you’re looking for peace and relaxation near the Schlei, you’ve come to the right place: Welcome to the tranquil village of Scheggerott, nestled in a rural setting between Süderbrarup and Kappeln! The stylishly furnished house features a park-like garden—where deer occasionally pass by, squirrels are often seen, and birds chirp merrily—as well as a pond and lovely terraces with beach chairs, offering the perfect spot to relax and enjoy beautiful views of nature. Inside, you’ll find a grand piano, and a library invites you to read. Anyone who loves books and art (there’s an easel on the loft) or even enjoys painting will feel right at home in this charming house.

The house is the rear half of a large two-family home: the converted former stable has two bedrooms: On the loft, there’s a large sleeper sofa for two people, where you can sleep wonderfully peacefully (however, the area can’t be completely darkened—sleep masks help if needed); on the first floor, there’s another, enclosed bedroom that can be darkened more effectively. There is plenty of space here for three people or two people who each want to use a separate sleeping area. The house has a large living room with a seating area and a dining table, as well as another living/dining room featuring a small grand piano and a music stand. There is a small, separate kitchen with a stove, oven, and washing machine. There is a separate restroom and a bathroom with a bathtub and an integrated toilet.

The front part of the house consists of a thatched-roof cottage that can also be rented: The garden is spacious enough that the two groups can keep to themselves or, if they get along, share the space. There are two beach chairs and plenty of garden chairs and furniture. Thanks to the furnishings and the beautiful surroundings, the atmosphere makes this the perfect place for a truly special summer.

One parking space—possibly two, upon arrangement—is available.

It is recommended to travel by car, as public transportation in this quiet, rural area is not well developed ( NAH.SH-App provides more detailed information).

Attractive destinations are within easy reach by car: The Schlei and the Baltic Sea are not far away. Interesting places to visit include Kappeln, with its narrow alleys and harbor where you can buy fresh fish (9 km, less than 15 minutes); picturesque Arnis on the Schlei, Germany’s smallest town with charming cafés (11 km, 15 minutes), the Viking town of Schleswig with the Gottorf Castle Museum or the Viking settlement of Haithabu (approx. 26 km, just under 30 minutes), or Glücksburg on the Flensburg Fjord with its historic moated castle.

In the village of Scheggerott, the legendary corner store “Pfefferkorn”—Germany’s smallest EDEKA—ensures that groceries, fresh rolls, and everyday necessities can be purchased within walking distance.

There are hiking and biking trails in the surrounding area.
