Det nittende århundrede Cajun Hjem med stor charme og moderne faciliteter!

Cirka 1890, Dette historiske hjem har masser af unik antik karakter med moderne stil, som du ikke kan se andre steder! Består af 12 fod lofter og alle originale trægulve. Huset er fuldt møbleret inklusive king size seng, sovesofa, stor stol med dobbelt sovesofa, 6 brænder Wolf række med alt det køkkengrej, du nogensinde har brug for. Skibsføreren badet har en stor mursten walk in shower. Det originale møllearbejde, hardware og malede vægge fra 1890 er bevaret! På verandaen er der 2 vippere, eller du kan slappe af på det store overdækkede cypressdæk med kulkrop bag på huset, der åbner ud til en muret lagt gårdhave. Beliggende i meget roligt, fredeligt område lige uden for Lafayette City Limits, men tæt på alt. Fantastisk sted for Cajun Country-besøgende eller enhver, der bare leder efter en flugt!

Always a great place.

I’ve been here multiple times and the experience is always great. Quiet, clean and very accessible to Lafayette and sure attractions.

The sweetest place!

Loved our stay at The Castle. The well thought out decor and amenities made us feel so at home. Wonderfully restored old home for a small family vacation in the heart of Louisiana or hiding away on your own. Look forward to visiting again!

If you want a comfortable, unique, and special place to stay, this is exactly that place. The owner, Jared, strives to met all your needs - he truly was appreciated. My wife and I would strongly recommend this lodging.

Great getaway

The owners have kept the historic value and rustic appeal in this house. Everything we could have asked for was there for us to use. House was just as advertised, even better. Look forward to staying again.

Rustic Charm

The Castle is perfect!

We had a very comfortable stay at the Castle in Scott, LA. It’s a great place to enjoy an old well appointed cottage with all the amenities of modern life. The privacy and seclusion of the property is most attractive to us - and great to escape the stresses of city life. We’ll definitely be back again - and we hope very soon….

Best place to stay!

We love staying here! House is tidy and well-equipped. Gives us a great place to stay so that we can have time to relax, but still close enough to Lafayette to give us plenty of time to visit family. Jared and Robert very helpful and accommodating. Our dog loves the porches too! Thanks

Great place to have a relaxing vacation.

The cottage is in a lovely and quiet neighborhood with two porches to enjoy. There's a great kitchen stocked with everything you need to make a meal . The king bed was very comfortable, the towels in the bath thick and the shower has three heads! The furnishings through out the house are very inviting. I would definitely come back to this property.

A wonderful stay in an historic home!

We had a comfortable feeling from the start of our visit. It has everything a person needs and with added charm. We love this home and Jared has been so responsive and accommodates our needs as they arise. I haven’t slept this well in a long time (the bed is so comfortable)! We feel at home in this lovely place.

Peaceful Retreat

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at The Castle! It is a wonderful old house, with so many original features. The owner has done a great job decorating and making it both functional and comfortable. Set in a peaceful area, it is just made for porch-sitting! Thank you so much for sharing this home.

Great place, highly recommend!!

Amazing Place to Stay!

We fell in Love with this place. So much history everywhere you looked. Beautifully decorated and had everything you could possibly need. We loved the peace and quiet of the location. It was close to so many attractions. It was close enough to town if you needed anything, but far enough away for peace and quiet. The property is so beautiful and we loved the porches. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was fantastic. Thank you for allowing us to stay.

Family Getaway

We loved the house and the location was great! The Castle was a great story teller for sure and the pictures no way touched the history until you arrived to see in person. It was decorated beautifully and enhanced the age of the home. Living in Louisiana you learn to live with the hot and humidity as they go hand in hand but sitting on the back porch there was a nice breeze to enjoy the scenery and didn’t really notice that it was touch warm outside. The Castle is definitely one to visit again!

Great weekend getaway!

The Castle far exceeds our expectations. This was the third time we have stayed at this wonderful home in the past 3 years. The house is immaculate, extremely comfortable, cleverly decorated and contains all the amenities of home (and then some!) The huge back porch overlooking a serene pasture is perfect for entertaining family, cooking out, or kicking back with a good book on the porch swing. There are several great restaurants in the vicinity. Jared is a gracious host, and always just a call away if needed. We can not wait to return! Kathleen and Steve Humble, Texas

relaxed

enjoyed our stay near lafayette la! We were in the country but less than 10 minutes to downtown lafayette. The home is an incredible remodeled cottage with all amenities provided: WIFI, cable, Wolf range, washer/dryer and a great country - cajun radio station was tuned in upon our arrival.Dishes are washed by hand:) Furnishings are often of vintage or antique style and clever attention has been made for placement of decorative items thru this home. There is a huge back porch deck and also an open fire pit for plenty of people.

Fabulous Property & Homeowner

We've just recently returned from a stay at this charming home! The owner couldn't have been more delightful to work with and his home is decorated just beautifully, and that's very important to me. He's thought of everything and more! You feel as if you're walking into a piece of history, which by the way you are, but stepped into the pages of Architectural Digest. Charming and will certainly return and recommend. We loved Lafayette and will certainly return. Totally ate our way through the town :) Thank you again Jared for everything! Sheryl

Perfect Cajun Country Getaway

We had the best weekend at The Castle. We got in late on Friday night, and we went straight to dinner at Saint Street Inn, which is about 15 minutes away from the house. The service and atmosphere was great, and I was very impressed with the seasonal menu -- the stuffed quail was excellent. On Saturday morning, we went into Lafayette to the farmer's market, and we had a wonderful time--great breads, homemade jams, kombucha, and bar-b-que. Plus, there is a beautiful park you can walk through after you finish with the market. In the afternoon, we went kayaking on Lake Martin, which is about 35 minutes away from the house -- very relaxing. Saturday night we ate at Social and went to the Fright Trail, which was a lot of fun and very well done. Best of all, we enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere the Castle provided. Very quiet, perfectly decorated, great back porch, and nice kitchen for cooking! We felt right at home, and we will certainly be back.

Found our perfect Cajun house!

I have been needing to get to south Louisiana for family, groceries, and speech therapy. Unfortunately my cousin, Laurice Debuc, died who I adored so I got my chance. I have been looking at this place for a while and I'm glad I found it because I absolutely love this place. It's a historical house with restorations that are so nicely done. Love the colors of the walls. Love the stain glass. Loved the kitchen. It is very well stocked, even with a rice cooker. Loved, loved, loved the pot pantry. I want that for my other houses. They had any pot that you would possibly need. Loved the art and especially the fish. I want that too. They also had really great towels, so no need to bring your own. It has a front porch and a huge back porch too. To anybody that stays here, please take care of my new place.

Passing Through Lafayette

My wife and I were heading east from TX going to MS and FL and wanted to break up our drive. Lafayette was the perfect place to stop after a 7 hr drive. This property was the perfect place to spend a couple of days before continuing on. Jared was very responsive to texts and was a great host. Very well decorated and in a quiet comfortable setting, this vintage house was a terrific start to my wife and I getting some time to ourselves. Even though it was a quick stay, we still had time to sit on the back porch swing and enjoy a cool breeze that came through. Also got in a walk up and down the road. There is a red cardinal that visits the kitchen window throughout the day. We loved it and took many photos. It's my wife's favorite bird. We decided not to cook. We ate out at local restaurants. We recommend Fezzo's Seafood in Scott for lunch or dinner and The French Press in Lafayette for breakfast/lunch. We recommend staying at The Castle in Scott, LA!

I enjoy cooking cajun food, enjoying wine, travel and spending time with family and friends. I am very passionate about the Louisiana & Cajun culture as you will see in The Castle. I am a firm believer in keeping old traditions alive and preserving old homes and buildings. I hope you get the opportunity to stay at The Castle and I always enjoy meeting our guest if time allows.

The home is a perfect twist of historic structure with modern fixings. It's carefully decorated with unique pieces that connect to the Louisiana Cajun culture. It was used for the filming of the GMC Sierra commercial in 2016!
