Hovedhuset med trægulve og hvælvede træbjælkelofter tilføjer vintage charme sammen med originale døre, skabe og skabe. 55-tommer fladskærms-tv i stuen kan ses i den åbne grundplan fra køkken og spisepladser.

Hovedsoveværelset har queensize-seng med splinterny komfortabel madras, Master Suite-bad, 32-tommer fladskærms T. V., spejlet skab og spektakulær udsigt over kysten, fantastiske solnedgange og funklende bylys.

Det andet soveværelse inkluderer en queensize-seng, Armoire med skuffer, T. V. og skab ... et lyst rum med vinduer til at nyde varmen og skønheden i den vidunderlige solrige San Diego.

Pensionat / tredje soveværelse kan prale af en king-size seng, to- 32-tommer tv med udsigtvinduer i en 400 m² stor plads til at omfatte badeværelse, tekøkken og opholdsstue. Loved, loved, loved our stay here! Carla is an amazing host. From the personal check-in to the immaculately clean home to the welcome snacks, pie, and flowers to the comfortable accommodations with a stunning view, this is the absolute best VRBO experience we have ever had! We had everything we needed plus some. Carla was great about communicating and was a gracious and generous host.The views are amazing, and the home is pretty centrally located to anything you want to do in San Diego. We hope to come back to San Diego in the future, and when we do, this home will be our pick for lodging!

Wonderful place

This home has a wonderful view, the decor is lovely and the hostess stocked us up on coffee and yummy snacks….including a apple pie! I highly recommend.

Great Place

It was a very nice place and clean. The owners are great! They had snacks and desserts waiting on our arrival. She was also kind enough to ship my daughters rings that she left back to us. The neighborhood was nice and quite too. I would stay here again.

Our Vacation

The property had wonderful views and is centrally located. Carla was gracious and greeted us with a cherry pie and fruit basket. The photos of the property do not do it justice. I would highly recommend staying here.

Windsor Hill Gem

We stayed for 5 nights at Carla & John's home and were thankful for all the extras that were provided. Owners are very detailed and friendly. It was our first time staying in La Mesa and we loved it. The Village is great, be sure to have a meal at Sheldon's Service Station.

Family wedding

Carla snd John are the ultimate hosts. They make you feel welcome and at home. They greet you with all kinds of goodies and restaurant recommendations. Their home is comfortable and stocked with everything you need for a home away from home. I highly recommend this vacation rental.

Truly a Jewel!

A wonderful home with lovely furnishings, immaculately cleaned, with everything one could possibly need. Carla met us at the house to familiarize us with everything, even providing a pie, banana bread, fruit, coffee, bottled water, and a snack basket. Comfortable bed, great towels, all the comforts of home are here! We hope to stay here again.

Perfect!

This house was perfect for our party of 8, with 2 young people sharing a room with their parents. The location made it easy to get everywhere in San Diego quickly (and the grocery store was 3 minutes away), and the house itself was beautifully cared for. Beds were all comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. Carla had some goodies waiting for us and we felt truly welcomed. We highly recommend this property!

Home Away From Home

Absolutely nothing has been spared to make sure that the you have a “home away from home” when you stay in this lovely place! Comfortable beds, quality linens and towels, the most well stocked kitchen, beautiful decor and so much more make this the perfect place to stay. Carla, the gracious owner, greeted us with a sweet smile and a delicious apple pie. She also had coffee, snacks and fruit waiting for us. Everything you could possibly want is in this jewel of a home! Best place I have ever rented on VRBO!

Perfect getaway!

Definitely a home away from home! Carla and John added so many nice touches that made us feel very welcome. They also went above and beyond by getting my girls a birthday cake for our arrival (we were in San Diego to celebrate their bdays!) The home itself was very comfortable and accommodating for our family of 4 adults and 3 kids. We were able to cook meals and even BBQ without being in need of anything! The views were stunning, we enjoyed sitting on the balcony and watching the sunset or sitting out there in the early morning and watching the hummingbirds fly by. We had an amazing time and are looking forward to coming back!

Location, beauty, attention to detail, quiet!

If you want a spectacular view and all the comforts of a beautiful, well - stocked home in a quiet neighborhood while visiting the San Diego area, the "Jewel in the Hills" home is the place. In addition, La Mesa marks a great location for being within an hour drive to many great attractions, including the Safari Park Zoo, Julian for apple pie, La Jolla and Torrey Pines State Preserve for hiking and so many other options depending upon your family's interests. The owners include helpful information about dining and other activities and will answer any questions you may have about the area. The convenience of a top of the line washer and dryer make laundry a non-issue. Keep that in mind when packing when you stay at the "Jewel in the Hills". The beds in each room have new matresses which will allow you to sleep well and gather energy for your next day of adventures. Even the roll out bed for our 9 year old grandson was a big hit for him. He said it was so comfy! For those of you who are coffee addicts, no worries there as a coffee pot and coffee are ready for you. The owners are affable and kind as they create a welcoming atmosphere with attention to special details to make your stay memorable (like the Easter basket, bundt cake, fruit and snacks). We plan on coming back again when we visit San Diego.

Perfect Home in La Mesa

From the stunning views, to the comfy beds and everything in between, our stay at Carla’s home was absolutely perfect! Carla went out of her way to help us have a great time in San Diego! She left us muffins, snacks, coffee and a delicious apple pie! She also made sure to tell us all her favorite spots to eat in the neighborhood and actually escorted us directly to one of them our first evening!! It was our first trip to the West Coast and with Carla’s help, we definitely had an unforgettable time. It was nice every evening to drive back to this comfortable La Mesa home away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It’s in a quiet neighborhood with a cool secret staircase very close by. From the deck of this home you have an unobstructed view for watching the sunset!! Thank you again Carla for a wonderful vacation!

Lovely Home with a View

I'm a stickler for cleanliness & "Gem in the Hills" was spotless! I'm also sensitive to fragrances & smells, & how things feel, & everything here was great! Soft & luxurious towels & sheets with no strong fragrances. As others have said, this is a beautiful place with a gorgeous view. It was a good space for two grandparent couples, here to attend our granddaughter's high school graduation. It was great that we could park right outside the front door, with only one step into the house. We loved the bowl of fruit, the large variety of snacks, & coffee, plus the whole family enjoyed the delicious pie! Carla is an excellent host, ready to meet every need. Thank you for a wonderful stay in La Mesa!!

Our stay was great. Expected to have access to guest house as mentioned in advertising. 3 adults female in 2nd bedroom was tight. Fold away bed added to room. Very little space to move. Was disappointing. Was asked to pay extra for guest house on arrival.

Comfortable and lovely

I can't say enough about our host, Carla, and her wonderful home. She welcomed us on arrival with our favorite pie and other treats, and made sure we had everything we needed. Carla has a gift for making her guests feel well taken care of. Her home is decorated very attractively but it is also comfortable and cozy. The view from the deck is spectacular. The neighborhood is great, near the famous secret steps of La Mesa, the village, and access to the freeways. This is the third place we have rented this month while our flood damaged home was repaired. As anxious as we were to get back home we were a little sad leaving this lovely place.

Relaxing stay

We had a great, relaxing stay in La Mesa. Just a short drive to downtown and other great San Diego spots. Everything was well kept and they even gave us snacks (a whole cherry pie) upon check in!

Great Property

We chose this Windsor Hills Property mainly for its charm, romantic views and dazzling sunsets. This "Jewel" boasts wood-beamed ceilings in the " Main House" (2b/2b), two outside decks, dining room, retro kitchen, and a large living space overlooking the coast.
Also a "Guest House" with kitchen, living space, bathroom (shower) and bedroom (l) which can be rented along with the Main House for overflow of guests.
The La Mesa area is in a great location and very central to so many activities through San Diego.

Our "Jewel in the Hills" Vacation Home and Guest House is in an awesome, quiet, walking neighborhood with the "Secret Stairs" that take visitors to the bottom of the mountain (or to the top of Windsor Hills) where guests can stroll into La Mesa Village for some shopping, dining, antiquing...and much more. Trolley access is available in La Mesa Village for access around San Diego and the Mexican Border.
