4 wheel drive to get up the steep gravel roads is a plus. The cabin is big and beautiful with gorgeous views and a huge lower level. Everybody was impressed. The outdoor fireplace got a lot of use.

This was one of the best decorated and quality furnished cabins I have rented. The game room was phenomenal. I also found the host to be very responsive with the few items we inquired about. My family and I would definitely stay here again.

This is a really beautiful home. Feels like the cleaning crew / manager is letting the owner down, however it was very clean. That said, there were many problems with minor things like a dishwasher tipped to the front so everything rushes out at you every time you open it and a broken silverware caddy; the filthy stove is way off-level; no water to the indoor hot tub; a loose circuit breaker that we had to take the panel cover off and re-secure for lights to work; a crazy noisy heat pump condenser; dim lighting; a huge bag of garbage left in the driveway that a bear got into that we had to pick up; an unlocked owner closet; no kitchen basics like food wrap; no shampoo or soap; a deck rail that is rotted and strapped together, etc. Minor but when you add it all up, it equals a pain in the rear for a large party all complaining about various things. Plus, our fault, it’s near beautiful Black Mountain but a solid 20 minute drive to Asheville from a pretty remote location. That worked out - we loved Black Mountain.

The house is amazing!! Roaring fireplace outside, fantastic game room, beautiful views. John the owner was extremely attentive with any questions we had about the house and restaurant recommendations. We will be back!!

Great house in a great location for exploring Black Mountain and Asheville. It was spacious and comfortable and we had a great time in the basement with the pool table and ping pong. The drive up to the house is no joke - steep and winding on a dirt and gravel drive, but we managed fine in our SUV. The house is well equipped with everything we needed for our stay.

Great Place to Relax

We’re had a great time here! We were close enough to restaurants, shopping, and attractions that we could plan lots of things to do. We were also in such a secluded place that we enjoyed playing in the game room and sitting outside on the various decks to enjoy the view. A definite place to plan a family trip!

Great time!

Very nice! Good location for all our activities- Biltmore, waterfall hikes, WNC wildlife refuge, Folk Art Center on the Parkway. Nice decks and game room. Plenty of room for all of us!

Nice getaway

Very nice spacious cabin. Plenty of room for our family of 6, plus more. The basement was enjoyed quite a bit by the kids playing ping pong, pool, and foosball.

Great big cabin in the woods!

Repeat booker. Love this place. Basement is awesome. Huge outdoor fireplace. Quiet neighborhood. Kitchen well appointed. Not one negative thing to say about this place. Will be back for sure.

Absolutely perfect!

This is our second time visiting, and we couldn’t have been happier. The house is first class, and there is plenty of room for a family to spread out and have a great time. We loved the huge outdoor fireplace, the pool and ping pong tables, and hiking up the mountain. If you’re thinking about booking, do it!

This trip and home make us want to live here!

We have stayed in many VRBO homes before but this has been our favorite! This is an extremely comfortable, clean, and spacious home near all the fun activities in the mountains. The game room and outdoor fireplace are amazing! The host is kind and easily reached. It is a place I would love to stay again. Thank you so much!

Amazing “Cabin” in Black Mountain

Classy log cabin with all the amenities. Lots of indoor space, cleverly decorated and fantastic outdoor living space. Our family enjoyed many meals on the granite picnic table and s'mores at the outdoor fireplace. Best family vacation! Lots of great hiking! The only negative was the clothes dryer did not heat and therefore could not dry.

This is an amazing property. We booked this last minute and were completely satisfied. Photos can’t capture all of the detail this house has. We enjoyed the wood fireplace on the porch each night. We could not get the hot tub to work but it could have been operator error. We never bothered the owner with it. Just a heads up, if you are on a small 2wd car then the access could be an issue for some. Overall this is an awesome house and I hope we can stay there again.

The home was beautiful, well-decorated, and cozy. The stone patio fire place was used most nights even in the rain due to it being covered. Loved being so close to nature. Only complaint was the hot tub. My family are all big water people. The hot tub was a big reason we booked but the hot tub did not get warm. Repairman came after a few days and no improvement or update. The hosts were good about replying for help.

Relaxing mountain stay

We certainly enjoyed our stay at the cabin. John was very easy to work with and responded quickly to requests. The cabin was very spacious and clean. We loved the covered porch and fireplace and it was great during the rain. The location was quiet and just far enough away from town but still easy to get to to visit. We tried out a couple of the breweries and liked Blue Ridge Biscuit Co. The Recreation park has some nice trails and we took the dogs there for a walk. The Lake Tomahawk Park is nice also and there are some great greenway trails at both parks and a nice place for running from one to the other

Beautiful Cabin

Our group of 7 adults booked this cabin for a mini family reunion. The cabin was perfect for our needs. Four spacious bedrooms with comfortable beds and convenient en suite bathrooms. But the public areas of the cabin are what sets it apart. Lots of outside seating both covered and uncovered with a lovely granite topped dining table and comfortable chairs and couches surrounding a beautiful stone fireplace. Inside the upstairs living room had lots of leather couches and chairs, big screen TV and good lighting. The dining room was spacious and the kitchen very serviceable. The downstairs game room was fantastic! Pool table, ping pong table and foosball plus fireplace and bar. The cabin is located in a very quiet area on the mountainside above Black Mountain, and about a 25 minute drive to downtown Asheville. We enjoyed the cabin and the location very much.

Gorgeous House - Great for Family Getaway

The pictures of this house do not do it justice. It's spacious, clean, and plenty of room for a big family getaway. The basement area makes the house unique. We could send the kids down there to entertain themselves for hours, and adults had fun playing pool and watching TV as well. There were plenty of towels and linens, the kitchen was well stocked with pots/pans, utensils, and basic supplies. There were also plenty of paper goods and laundry supplies. And one of my favorite things - the furniture was really, really nice! So many times I've stayed in a VRBO with beaten-up, cheap furniture that you don't really want to touch, let alone snuggle down in. But everything in this home was high quality, durable, clean, and comfortable. The house is about 15 minutes from shops and restaurants in Black Mountain, and 30 minutes from Asheville. There is a giant, beautiful grocery store about 15 minutes away as well as a Starbucks. We will definitely be back!
