Tip Ellen er et arrogant lurvet hjem på Pawleys Island og en overlevende af orkanen Hugo. Bygget med k������rlighed og pleje dette hjem skaber en vidunderlig ramme for en overkommelig familieferie. Kun få skridt til havet, vil gæsterne elske at samle på bredskærms verandaen, hvor de vil høre og lugte det varme havbrise. I maj 2015 havde dette hjem en total remodel indvendig og udvendig. Hårdttræ gulve, granit bordplade og rustfrit stål vask i køkkenet, friskt lag af ydre maling, ny front screen veranda og meget mere! En gang inde har boligen en hyggelig opholdsstue, spisestue og køkkenkombination, der har kabel-tv, mikroovn, spisebord, komfortable siddepladser og meget mere. Hvis kun de smukke knudrede fyrv��ggene kunne tale ... så blev historierne om familier, der spillede kort eller nyde et måltid, ekko. Hjemmet har fire soveværelser og to badeværelser. Sengepladser er en dronning, to dobbeltværelser, en dobbeltseng og to dobbeltsenge. Ekstra faciliteter inkluderer nyt strøelse, nye doven drengestole i stuen, wifi, AC, vaskemaskine / tørretumbler, overdækket parkering og et lukket udend��rs bruser med varmt / koldt vand.

We are here for the beach

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: If you want a reasonably priced place to stay with a very short walk to the beach, this is the place. If you want a really nice place to stay, this is NOT the place. Super short walk to the beach without being Oceanside. That is why we stay here. Probably the smallest and oldest house on the road. Appliances have been updated recently. Furniture is ok. Beds are ok. Kitchenware is a bit lacking if you cook, but manageable. Screened in porch is nice. AC is cold. Water pressure is a bit weak except in the outdoor shower. This is the house to stay in when you want to be at the beach. No frills place to eat, sleep, watch some tv, and then enjoy your super short walk to the beach.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Tip Ellen had very comfortable beds and we slept great. The bathrooms and kitchen were adequate. There is a nice outdoor shower with warm water and another toilet and washer/dryer beneath the house which came in handy with our large group. We were disappointed that there was very little storage and a small living room. Our group could not all sit together inside. We did see quite a few bugs as well. We did enjoy our stay and the screened porch was roomy.

Quintessential Pawley’s

I love this house. It is everything I remember from my childhood at PI - wooden floors and walls, outside laundry and shower, screened porch, a few bugs, a little mildew. It is so close to beach access that it might as well be beachfront! The beds were super comfy. Highly recommend.

Too Small

The listing says it will sleep 12, but we had 10 people & there was not enough room. We couldn't all eat together as a family because the table was set up for 4. We did pull in a few chairs but there were not 10 total chairs & we wouldn't have fit around the table even if we had 10 chairs. There just wasn't enough sitting for 10 people let alone 12. We did love that out was so close to the beach, but there was no place in the house to rest & relax for everyone. Shouldn't be listed for 12 people.

A Taste of Pawley’s Island history

Outshined and dwarfed by the newer, bigger, more modern houses, this home provides the experience of an “arrogantly shabby” island where casual and laid back were a way of life. In fact it’s kind of sad for those of us who experienced the old Pawley’s to see it so changed. The cabin is very small - 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, kitchen and television area in less than 1000 square ft. Still it was adequate for 8 of us. The outdoor shower and huge screen porch made the space seem much larger. The only thing that would have made the screen porch better would have been a view of the ocean, but we were not expecting a view. Short walk to beach and mostly quiet street. Never saw a bug in or around the home. It would benefit greatly from new fridge and stove with a working light and exhaust fan and electrical outlets in the 2nd bathroom. Some of the furniture has been updated and others could use an update. The bathrooms were clean and convenient. The A/C worked well. We thoroughly enjoyed our week, but we think it would not work well for more than 7 or 8 people. The beach is beautiful and we rented a golf cart for riding around the island. It was a fun week

Good location but....

We have been staying at Pawleys Island for over 30 years now and although we were expecting a more traditional Pawleys house, this was a bit more on the shabby side than we anticipated. The house has all of its original charm but it also has windows that won't stay open if they even open and don't have screens if you can get them to stay open-not ideal when you want to get the fresh ocean air and hear the waves. The kitchen was not very functional with no light over the stove to cook by, a rusted and broken fridge, and seriously under equipped cooking utensils, pots, and pans. We rent a house specifically to be able to cook at the house and it was not easy here. The beds were said to have been replaced recently but I can assure you they are not new mattresses-the bed I slept in specifically had a massive dip right in the middle. The house in general was just dark and not what you would hope for when renting at the beach. That being said-the location is great-it really is about a 1 minute walk to the beach. We had zero issue with bugs as a previous review had stated. The screened in porch is large and the rocking chairs is where we spent all our time other than the beach as the living space inside is pretty tight. Overall this could be a super great beach house rental but I feel that the property owners need to actually invest in some basic comforts that someone would expect when renting a home at Pawleys Island.

Won't rent again!

It appears that the owner never visits the house or just does not care for its current condition or desire to improve it. Bugs in one of the beds, appliances outdated, cabinets without doors. Table seats 4 when this house supposedly sleeps 12! Nicest thing I can say is that it had air conditioning and a roof.

Our morning walks on the beach with sand on our paws. The house was so clean you could eat on the floor, oh yeah, we did. We already recommended it to our 4 legged friends. Suzanne was amazing although she has a cat. Oh, my Mom and Gram had a good time too.

I went to the beach to rest up and prepare for the season that lies ahead. The stay was fantastic! The house is great, and the beach access is only 3 houses down the street. The beach is public, but not overcrowded. Pawley's Island is a great choice for a getaway no matter the length of the stay.

Tidelife has been great to work with and they will jump right on any problem you might have. This house is named Tip Ellen and it was built in 1956, which means it has weathered a number of storms and survived them all. We love the older houses as they have a lot of character. The house was clean and they had upgraded several chairs in the living area and also on the porch. The location of the house is great, bing on second row and 5 minutes to the beach. We have recommended the house to at least 6 other couples.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were warmly welcomed when we got to the office. Tip Ellen is on Pawleys Island S.C.We had looked for a place for some time. It seems most places will take Dogs but not Cats. We were aloud to take my cat. She is 11 yrs old, declawed and just sits watching the birds and car on the front porch of Tip Ellen. It is a big porch and is all screened in. We loved it sitting outside with the cat and not worry about her walking away. That was the first time she has ever been outside except to go to the vet for shots. Tip Ellen is a very old place but in not a bad location. We were on the row back from the beach so could not see the ocean unless we walked ( which is a short distance ) to go see the ocean.The place has a front stairs and a back stairs. You walk up the front stairs onto the big porch and in to the living room. Knotty Pine is on the walls, 4 bedroom,2 with queen beds and the other 2 bedrooms have 2 full size beds in them. So it can sleep 12 people. It has 2 full baths in the house and under the house is the laundry room with washer and dryer and toilet. they also have a shower to rinse off the sand after going swimming or playing in the sand.A new refrigerator and stove and all the utensils you will need including plates cups coffee pot. Al you need is towels ( or you can rent them ).Overall it is a nice place,it is being updated in places. I would come back again but we like to sit and see the ocean from the house. We have had a great time here except for the cold weather we had this year. **** & Faye

It is an excellent choice if you want to get away from your normal routine. The house has everything you need to sleep, and feed a herd of friends or family providing you stop at the grocery store on the way out to the island. You can still get in the water well into October, it can't be beat for a fall break.
