På tværs af banen fra stranden i Playa Grande luksuriøse Palm Beach Estates ligger dette fire værelses hjem beliggende på en stor anlagt masse med en pool foran og naturreservatet bagpå. Der er en ny overdækket træhus-gårdhave over garage med 2 biler. Hvis du er heldig, kan du se Howler-aber derfra, eller når du vender tilbage fra at tage solnedgangen på den afsondrede strand - og flere af Guanacastes fineste restauranter og barer i høj grad er kun få blokke væk.

Hovedhuset har 3 soveværelser og 2 fulde bade samt et semi-vedhæftet pensionat med komplet soveværelse / bad suite. Alle værelser er udstyret med både queensize-senge og køjesenge, aircondition og loftsventilatorer. Master soveværelse har KING seng
Andre to soveværelser har en queensize-seng og køjeseng i hver.

Family Trip

This home is in a very quiet neighborhood with a 4 minute walk to the beach. We enjoyed watching the surfers on the water. Owners are super sweet and available if needed. I would definitely come back to this home.

Great Spot for families

We stayed here with friends and family ages ranging from 2-14 and loved our time here. The screened in outdoor patio was great and there was a nice large table and grill. The pool was a bit smaller than what we thought, but was still enjoyed. The beach was walking distance and the sunsets are UNBELEIVABLE. We loved our stay here!

Extended Family Stay

Extended family of 7 enjoyed a week at this beautiful home. The house is everything as advertised. We enjoyed the short walk to the beach, the nearby restaurants and the relaxing pool. The screened in porch was perfect for dinners and breakfasts together.

Christmas Vacation

We loved our stay at this amazing property - it was so spacious for our 2 families of 4. The outdoor eating area, rooftop patio and pool were our favorite places to hang out. And location to the beach and restaurants was unbeatable!

Great stay with 5 kids and 4 adults

Great amount of space for two families! Property manager was super helpful and answered every question and set us up with transportation and excursions. Beach was super close and the pool was delightful to retreat back to. Several nice restaurants nearby and a small minimart with essentials. We had a wonderful stay!

Peaceful Oasis On The Beach

Loved the place! Loved the Neighborhood! Loved the Beach! This was a wonderful quiet little spot just steps from gorgeous Playa Grande. If you want the hustle and bustle of Tamarindo it's only a quick water taxi away but feels like another world here. Plenty of great places to eat and drink and things to do just steps away but secluded and peaceful if you just want to soak in the pool on a hot day. Catch the extraordinary sunset on the beach and then treat yourself to a fresh fat tuna steak at Cafe Mar Azul! A perfect day!

Montreal family of 8 adults + baby

Villa as per pictures. 3 bedrooms in main villa including 2 large ones with adjacent bathrooms very appreciated. The 4th bedroom in outside casita does not have wifi. All bedrooms have air conditioning, a must to enjoy sleep. Beds were comfortable. Huge screened porch very nice and bbq quite useful. Kitchen very well equipped with a large number of pots and various accessories. One fridge rather tight for large family like ours. Beach towels and accessories very useful namely the tent for shade and the 4 chairs. No body surfs though. Small swimming pool as described. Water shortages at check in and on departure. Very good assistance from Shawna and Jorge for these issues. Very kind in providing tips / suggestions and booking chef for a birthday dinner. Area was noisy (roof construction, adjacent villa) but not Shawna-Jorge fault. Exceptional beach.

Great villa with a tropical feel

We were a party of 6 adults and 2 babies and this villa was the perfect fit. It would have been a bit tight for 8 adults as the extra bedroom and bath is very small. The villa was well furnished with comfortable beds and a well equipped kitchen. A lot of our time was spent in the pool and the screened in porch was a life saver. Although only 1 of the 2 fans worked it was a cool retreat from the heat. The location was great, less than a 5 min walk to a beautiful beach. Where we enjoyed sundown most days. About 20 mins walk into tamarindo (using the water taxi or walking across the estuary) and within a 5 min walk to 4 bars and restaurants and a small local grocery store and a couple of surf shops. The couple of bikes provided allowed us to venture a little further into playa granda, which is a 45 min walk. At the time of our visit there was construction at the lot next door and also across the street. They start prompt at 7am and finish around 5, which did spoil our visit somewhat but mike, Nancy and Shawna were upfront about that as soon as they knew it was starting and gave us the option of canceling or a discount. Final mike and Nancy and the property managers, Shawna and her husband, were amazing to deal with. AnswerIng all of our questions promptly and turning up to respond to our few concerns before I even had chance to check my check my phone. All the while, respecting our privacy. Thank you again to Mike and nancy for letting us stay in your property.

Great Property Wasted due to poor management

House is a great size and layout. neighborhood is fantastic with great proximity to beaches and restaurants, etc. The screen room is particularly uNeful. When in a country like Costa Rica you have to be prepared for bugs and critters. However, it is reasonable to expect efforts to be taken to minimize them. In this case, the property manager does not seem to care in the least. The very first night we killed half a dozen cockroaches and figured out they were coming out of the shower drain. We solved this for the stay by covering the drains when we were not using them which meant we only had a few more to deal with over the stay. A simple stainless steel screen could have been installed. Then we turned off the lights to go to bed but 15 minutes later turned a kitchen light back on there was at least 50 ants crawling all over the counters. We had only just arrived and there was NO food anywhere. We fogged the kitchen with raid but ultimately leaving the lights on in the main areas all night was the only way to control the situation. This took the ants down to a manageable situation. You could also see where the carpenter type ants were eating through doors from the bottom. We also had live crabs and a scorpion to deal with. If this was my house I would be concerned. We checked out 2 days early and advised the property manager. We never received any form of acknowledgement or communication - none. Very unprofessional & in line with the standards we saw in use.

Lovely beach escape

Wonderful stay at this lovely property. It’s a short walk from the beach and has several food options/restaurants within walking distance as well. Several options to rent beach gear (including surfboards) also within walking distance. Shawna was exceptionally responsive, and she helped us book a wonderful horseback ride on another local beach. The pool was a nice break from the beach, and there was a lot of room for hanging out and relaxing at the end of the day. If you’re looking for a nice beach trip, this is a great choice to experience the Pura Vida culture of Costa Rica.

The Perfect Getaway!!!

This place was perfect! A very clean and spacious place with a true Costa Rican vibe! Our family of 9 found it to have all the amenities we needed. Comfy beds and big kitchen with everything needed for cooking. The pool was a bit smaller than anticipated but we all used it everyday with no issue!The private casita room had a broken AC when we first arrived but Shawna and Jorge responded instantly and it was fixed by the time we woke up the following morning.In fact, our hosts, especially Shawna were incredibly helpful and responsive for the entire duration of our stay. Shawna set up our shuttles to and from the airport, stocked groceries for our arrival and arranged a snorkeling trip (probably the best we've ever been on)The beach access was perhaps the highlight. Less than a 5 minute walk and then faced with a long stretch a soft sand and a quiet beach. We brought our own umbrellas and used the tent provided by the property. Local surfers and surfer camp students made up most of the other beach comers and we just loved the atmosphere.Access to Tamarindo was a 10 minute walk to the water taxis. But we preferred the quiet of our area. The property is in a small community with some local restaurants (delicious) and shops including a min-mart with some food items (breads, eggs, milks, cereal, coffee). For big groceries (meat, vegetables) you would need to plan accordingly to head to Tamarindo or Playa Grande.Overall, loved our stay and would highly recommend!

Wonderful home at Playa grande

Fantastic communication. Tons of wonderful food options. Right next to surf break for surfers of all abilities. Comfortably sleeps 10. Front porch screened in for wonderful evenings

Perfect Location

We had a nice stay at Casa Kalumina! House was in perfect location. Easy to get in touch with Shawna and Jorge during our stay for any questions we had. House had all the necessities! Spacious and A/C kept us comfortable during our stay. The outside was well maintained and kids enjoyed the pool which was mainly shaded and perfect for enjoying outside w warm temperatures. Less than 5 min walk to beach! Sunsets on beach were beautiful! We did surf lessons from Playa Grande Surf Camp right next door. We enjoyed the tight knit community and all the restaurants. 3 are in short walking distance and ALL had great food. There was a coffee shop close by as well. Grateful Dead restaurant had live music and was helpful in arranging water taxi to Tamarindo and several excursions. We did private estuary tour, walked around Tamarindo, surf lessons, and 4 person ATV side by side tour to remote beaches while staying at this house! Would highly recommend this house and location!! Thank you!!

It was great! Super quick & easy walk to the beach. Our only regret was not renting a car.

It was great! Shawna gets back quickly with any issues or desires and helps set things up for the vacation!

Great place for a family getaway.

This is a great place for a family getaway. Great location. Private and quiet community. Located so close to the public beach entrance. There are 2 very good restaurants located just steps away. The place is very spacious for a large group. Very clean and modern home. The enclosed patio was so great to hang out in at night - no bugs. The pool was clean and refreshing. The rooftop patio was a great hangout before sunset. The property manager was very attentive to all of our requests. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. We would definitely return to this place.

wonderful house

The property was as described. We had a wonderful stay. There was a total of 9 people in our party (kids aged 11-16 and adults). This house fit all of us perfectly. The screened in porch with a gathering area and large table was our favorite place to hang out when we were at the house. Kids swam in the pool many times. We could easily (within 4 minutes) walk to several places to eat. The only heads up for others to keep in mind is the attached room (4th bedroom). We wanted to put kids in that room, however when you stay in that attached room you are locked out of the main house for the night. We weren't super comfortable with that, so adults stayed in there instead. While it a nice quite room, the bathroom is super small. I was pretty jealous of my kids that had the master suite with a beautiful master bath. But I still can't complain because we were in Costa Rica for vacation!! I just wanted to give others a heads up. We absolutely loved the small beach town of Playa Grande. We made friends with many of locals and will definitely return.

Fantastic house and location!

We loved your house so much. The location was perfect. Close to the beach and close to Playa Mar Azul and Catarana...YUM!! We enjoyed watching the coatamundi camped in the tree by the pool. He really enjoyed our watermelon!! We will be back soon! Pura Vida!

Fabulous house in a fantastic location

This beauty house was plenty big for our extended family of 9 people. My two granddaughters especially loved the swimming pool. We loved the screened in patio and sat outside to eat , worked on puzzles, played games, and talked. My husband and I stayed in the guest house and enjoyed a little more privacy. We all went swimming and boogie boarded in the waves. We loved the close proximity to the beach and the restaurants which were a 2 minute walk. The food was excellent In the the two restaurants we dined at. The kitchen was fully equipped with spices and condiments, paper towels and trash bags. They provided beach towels, chairs, and boogie boards. All so helpful for our family vacation. We would definitely come back.

Simply paradise

The location is perfect, if your looking for a place that is remote yet close to all the perfect tiki huts and such, this is the place. Close to the town, yet separated by an estuary... water taxi a short walk away or a hike down the beach. My favorite part of the house is the cabana above the garage. Our kids took surfing lessons from the place next door, by the end of the afternoon they were fully surfing on their own, we did several excursions and had an awesome time. Will rent again and look forward to returning.
