This Crystal Beach vacation rental, located in the Tidelands Subdivision, was built so you’ll never forget you're at the beach. The interior is bright and cheerful with comfortable seating in the living area and extra seating at the kitchen bar allowing everyone to enjoy meals together. Close to the Big Store and even closer to the beach, this home boasts a wall of windows which showcase the wonderful Gulf views. Comfortable furniture and the open layout of the kitchen, dining, and living areas make this retreat perfect for entertaining guests or relaxing in the air conditioning. The deck features plenty of space for sunning as well as a covered area that is perfect for enjoying a meal or drink with friends and family. What could be better than grilling your catch of the day and enjoying it outdoors? This charming beachfront house will allow you to slow down and enjoy the simple pleasures in life only steps away from the water.

Please note, Hurricane Ike forever changed the footprint of Bolivar Peninsula, therefore some homes listed as beachfront may have a lot and/or street in front of it. This is the result of the uncertainty following the storm where some property owners elected to participate in the government buy out of lots that fell in what later would be considered within the vegetation line established by the State of Texas and subsequently included as part of the public beach. Not all property owners participated. Those homes where the property in front of it are part of the buyout are considered beachfront even though to the east or west of it there may be a home closer to the beach.

Our fur baby had his very own backyard to run around a bit and get some energy our. Joe and I thought the house was perfect and had everything (and then some) that we could as for or needed. We had a fabulous time relaxing and enjoying the view. We discussed on our way home yesterday the possibility of coming back and that we would choose this house again for our stay. So nice and just perfect for us.

5 Star Place With Small Issue

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This property was an excellant place to stay on Crystal Beach. It is great for 2 couples and is pet friendly with a fenced in yard. We brought our miniture daschund which brings me to the minor issue. Although the yard is fenced, there are stickers that caused problems with the dog's feet. So we were really not able to use the fenced yard for the dog. Otherwise the property was wonderful. It is located on the beach between the Big Store and Stinaree road so it is pretty far what I call the Zoo area. We rented a golf cart and were able to take it both to the Big Store and the Stingaree without getting on the highway. The house was exceptionally clean and decorated very nicely. We have rented from Cobb Real Estate for the last several years and have always been pleased with the houses. I typically call them ahead of time and ask for their advice once I have narrowed down some houses. This really helps since they know their properties well. Again, great house in a great location.

We had a wonderful stay at this beach house! From the moment we opened the door, we were greeted with a fresh, welcoming scent that set the tone for a relaxing getaway. The home was in pristine condition—everything was spotless and thoughtfully prepared. The pillows, linens, and kitchen were all fully stocked, making it easy to settle in and feel at home.The view from the window was absolutely stunning, and we spent a lot of time out on the spacious deck, which had plenty of comfortable seating (with extra cushions conveniently stored in the closet). Every detail was taken care of, and we truly appreciated the care and attention that went into preparing the home.We loved our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to come back!

Out Getaway

Our stay at this cabin was wonderful!! It was a getaway with my husband and sister. Everything was clean and comfortable. Beautiful sunset and sunrise from the deck was the highlight for us. All Decked Out

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin is front row, and it is well designed and well maintained. The only real complaint that I have is that I do NOT want to have to have a battle with technology when I'm on vacation. The thermostat for controlling the A/C was completely indecipherable. It was simply a white dome with a glass front, like one's smart phone. But tapping on the front glass did not activate the thermostat. There was no writing on the sides of the thermostat or any other indication as to how to make an adjustment to the temperature. We spent the first night in an uncomfortably warm house. It was a frustrating experience, and not a good start to our vacation. I called the rental office the next morning, and the young lady that helped me was very friendly, but even she did not know how to work the thermostat and had to ask a colleague for instructions. It turns out that in order to adjust the thermostat, one has to tap on the side of it to get it to "come to life." After I did this, it was still difficult to adjust the temperature. All of this could have been avoided if the homeowner would have simply posted a written procedure on the wall by the thermostat. They had already done the same for the television, but apparently felt no need to help their renters with something as essential as the cabin's temperature control. I am very familiar with computers, phones, thermostats, etc., but this was simply a case of a new piece of technology being "too smart for its own good." No one wants to be given a test / quiz on something as basic as how to work the A/C when one is on vacation. Think of your guest and quit trying to install the latest and the greatest in technology. Basic is better when it comes to gadgets that others have to use.

This is such a charming two bedroom that I would consider buying it. Had a few maintenance problems with the electrical systems (broken breaker for the heater, thrown breaker for the hot water heater) but the staff was amazingly responsive. I am afraid I may have left some ice cream in the freezer--please don't downmark me as a renter for that? Will rent this unit again

There were a couple things that could be improved, such as the TV's. I don't think they're smart TV's because I couldn't "cast" from my phone. It was difficult to figure out how to watch anything other than the minimal channels on Direct TV that were available. We normally don't watch a lot of TV while at the beach but it was raining all day the first day we were there, plus the Astros playoff games had started. The other thing is we couldn't get the hot water to work in the hall bathtub. We finally figured out that is was backwards from what is considered normal. Also, the dryer was extremely loud. However, I will most definitely rent this home again.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our second time at A La Playa and my wife and I had another wonderful time. Everything is as advertised; clean, spacious and great location. Staff is wonderful and professional. The only problem we encountered was that we went to the Stingaree for dinner and the food and service was terrible. But overall we had a great time at A La Playa.
