Our family had a wonderful stay. The cabin is “rustic” but has all the necessities—river access, kayaks, hot tub to have a wonderful time. The location is perfect.

House is compact but very well stocked with all the necessities of home, beautiful yard right on the river the access was down a little bit of a steep path because River water level was low. We love Monte Rio and really enjoyed our family time at the house with river access.

We had a great stay! The place was super cute and cozy, and being right on the water made for such a beautiful setting. Communication with the host was also great throughout our stay.One thing to be aware of if you’re planning to spend a lot of time in the water is that there isn’t really easy dock access. You are right on the water, but getting in and out can be a little tricky, especially for kids, who would definitely need adult help.Checkout also had a few more requirements than we’re used to, such as washing the used beach towels before leaving. Nothing major, just something we hadn’t experienced at other rentals before and worth keeping in mind.Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. It’s a super cute place in a beautiful location, and we would definitely come back!

Unfortunately, our experience at this cabin did not meet our expectations. There was no heat, which made the stay uncomfortable for a couple mornings. The owner did send over a portable heater. Additionally, the pictures in the listing were not representative of the actual property. This property is actually in disrepair and very dated. However, the property was clean. The listing stated river access and we were unable to get to the river. I know accessing the river was not entirely the owners fault as the river was low causing us to not be able to access it, but it would have been nice to know this before renting. We wanted to use the provided kayaks but were not able to. Also, the bikes provided were rusty with flat tires. I understand that no rental is perfect, but I believe the listing should accurately describe the property. I feel it is important for future renters to be aware of these discrepancies.

Dear guests, we are sorry your stay at our rustic cabin did not meet your expectations. Unfortunately, our Mitsubishi heat pump, normally a very reliable heating system, broke during your stay. When the unit broke, we immediately provided you with a space heater and also provided you with a partial refund of rent for your inconvenience. We are unaware of any other items of "disrepair" as we always promptly fix all maintenance items. As to the river, the height of the river is controlled by the local authorities at various dams, etc and can vary from week to week, although we generally have had no issue with the river height during the summery and fall seasons. This is the first time we are aware that any guest could not access the river due to its low height and we apologize for the inconvenience. As we have also found that guests who ride bicycles will bring their own and we have had no guest request use of our bicycles in the past 5 plus years, we no longer provide bicycles for our guest. Really nice little house by the river. Very relaxing. Very well appointed. Great as a getaway and in great proximity to all river and hiking activities. Highly recommend.

Host was welcoming and responded timely when needed. This cozy river property was perfect for a weekend getaway with our pups. We love being within 20 minutes of the ocean. Lots of great beaches and hiking trails to explore. We will definitely come back again in the summer or fall to spend some time on the river.

This VRBO offered a nice view with plenty of deck space and a big backyard. The interior was eclectic and fun. Relaxing atmosphere.We did have an issue with the TV and were limited to mostly news. Hard to navigate.Also, the shower was missing a mat, causing it to be very slippery with near accidents. And it was hard to get a comfortable water temp, especially if it had been used by another person within an hour. No soap or shampoo, so we had to go buy our own. A shower caddy would have been nice. These are easy fixes that would have made our stay more comfortable.

Loved the property, the little extras that were happy surprises with beach towels, life vests of all sizes and use of kayaks on property were great. The central heat/cool were unable to set, host aware and tried to resolve. Extra room heater did not work so nights were cool. Linens were luxurious, plenty of pillows and hangers. The hot tub was great! Neighborhood is quiet and many spaces for enjoying the beautiful flowers and butterflies . We saw a falcon and a blue heron as well. Kitchen was well stocked with things needed. Beautiful painting of heron and loved the stained glass butterfly lights. Access to restroom, living room and one bedroom to back deck by sliding glass doors. Four parking spaces available and 1/4 mile to parking lot if need more. We had a wonderful time and the Host was responsive . Theresa cleans home and does a lovely job and is so kind. There is a jacuzzi tub in bath. I had my mother there with a walker, some doorways narrow for that. We would come back again if we can.They provided 2 bicycles as well we did not use them. There is plenty of lawn area for lawn games as well as a fire pit one another grassy area. Hope you enjoy the property as we did!

This was our second stay at this house. We loved our stay just as much as the first time! The house is in an ideal location, well appointed and has great amenities. Check in and checkout was a breeze! We highly recommend this property!

Beautiful location, stairs right to the river from the backyard. Cozy bedrooms and living room excellent for movie nights. Kitchen has everything you need to cook and a solid coffee maker. Hot tub was very nice and clean for cold mornings and nights.Quick walk or drive to the Monte Rio beach, Boho Manor for dinner and drinks, Monte Rio Redwoods Trailhead for hiking.Definitely recommend!

My family enjoyed this gem on the Russian River. The house was comfortable and very clean. Pet friendly too which was great! The hot tub in the rain was delightful! The large yard with fire pit was perfectly maintained and had a path right to the water. They even have kayaks available for use! The hosts were very friendly and easy to reach. I look forward to staying here again!

Fun Family Getaway!

We loved our stay! The cabin was a great size and comfortable for our family of four and dogs. We loved the spa and yard and really enjoyed the river access. Great location and would definitely stay again.

Bliss on the Russian River. Great location to access the river and spend time enjoying the beautiful views. We saw lots of birds our favorite was the Great Blue Heron. We enjoyed the hot tub as well. Bed was comfortable and kitchen had everything we needed to feel at home. Also dog friendly we will book again!

This was a perfect stay In a charming house with an incredible lawn and deck. For our stay we had to navigate down a small embankment to get into the water but it was easy for us. We spent all weekend out on the river. Our dog was also in heaven and we were devastated to leave. The hosts were also so kind and easy to communicate with.
