Fossil Bank exceeded our expectations - fantastic location in the middle of Alnmouth, lovely outdoor space and high spec interior, well stocked and well thought out. Would absolutely recommend.

Fossil Bank is a well equipped and luxurious home which is wonderfully situated in the lovely village of Alnmouth. It is on the high street close to shops and restaurants, but is quiet and has private parking and a walled outside area for dining and sitting out. The rooms are comfortable with quality bedding. Communication with the host was excellent, and they went out of their way to make us feel welcome (the Toblerone was very welcome). The home is in a great location to explore all of the sites of Northumberland, including the wonderful castle and gardens at Alnwick.

This beautiful house is very central and immaculate throughout. The host has thought of absolutely everything you could need during your stay and the off street parking is very welcome as parking can sometimes be difficult in and around the village. The host is extremely quick to respond, very approachable and reassuring re your arrival and exit plans. The house is finished to an extremely high specification and is very comfortable and cosy due to some personal touches. I will definitely stay here again.

Lovely place to stay; location perfect and beautifully appointed home.Only negative would be that, if like us you have sore knees, the steep steps up to the main room are a bit of a struggle Fabulous spot otherwise!

We had a lovely holiday in this idyllic cottage in a wonderful location. Everything was clean and well-appointed. We parked outside the gate and that worked well. Communication from the hosts was excellent.

Cute and comfortable cottage in a lovely setting, pubs and shops at your doorstep but tucked away in a private courtyard with plenty of outdoor space. All of the modern conveniences as well as high quality extras provided. Helen is a kind and generous host, very responsive and helpful. Highly recommend to anyone interested in the Northumberland coast.

What can i say, a fantastic little cottage with everything you need. From the moment we got there we felt relaxed and comfortable. The little touches made all the difference.The location is perfect for exploring the area with the added bonus of 3 pubs within 1 min walk. The locals were very friendly and the food was good too. Helen the host was great, really good commumication and made us feel very welcome.We will definitely be going back and i would highly recommend it.Again, thank you Helen!

Great place, great location. Everything you need catered for in the house. Beds very comfortable and kitchen fully stocked.Perfect location to explore alnmouth and Alnwick. We will return next year

Absolutely stunning

Gorgeous property, fabulous location and charming extra touches! Can’t give enough compliments for our stay … it was perfect in every way. My kids (8 and 11) absolutely loved the house and private outdoor space … it made for the most relaxing holiday we’ve ever had!

Beautiful holiday house, nicely decorated. Cute village with quite some options for dinner and tea. Village shop/post office is nice for the basic groceries. really liked the delicatessen shop down the street. Beach at 5 minute walk. Also parking was easy

Delightful cottage

Relaxing week away in delightful space in Fossil Bank. The owners have thought of every little touch. Home from home. We can’t wait to return in the Autumn. We love Alnmouth & the beaches are amazing. A very special place to visit.

Fabulous house in the centre of Alnmouth, great location for everything Alnmouth and local area has to off. The gates property offers privacy and luxury. Communication from owner was perfect and the quality of the furnishings and fittings was fantastic. Thoroughly recommend as a stay.

Cosy little hideaway

My husband, my 8 year-old daughter and I just had a week's stay at Fossil Bank. The cottage is really well equipped, beautifully decorated and super cosy. We loved the garden and secure parking, and the location on the high street but so close to the beach was brilliant. We had a slight hiccup on checking in, but it was sorted asap by Helen, who was an excellent host. Would thoroughly recommend a stay here. Thanks Helen!

Fossil Bank is a wonderful property, right on the high street, but completely private, minutes from the beautiful beach. My friends and I had a wonderful time, we loved all the special touches that Helen had put in place and from a practical perspective it had everything we needed (the parking spaces were very welcome). Alnmouth is a great location, we easily managed trips to so many amazing places such as Craster, Cragside, Alnwick castle and gardens, Bamburgh Castle to name just a few. Definitely recommend.

Half term break

The property was perfect, the rooms were spotless and presented in a very professional way. The kitchen was a great size with a breakfast bar for dining and the toilet/shower room was of a very high standard. The location was great and access to the town and beach was less than a couple of minutes walk, there is a parking space within the confines of the property and ample outdoor dining space if needed. We would absolutely recommend this to a couple or small family, Helen the host was so helpful and was always happy to answer any queries.

Our time at The Bank

A Lovely little cottage with all the tech you need in great location and our own gardener (Ted). We had a great time in a great little town. Only teeny issue was that Master bedroom is up very steep stairs so we snuggled up in the other bedroom: otherwise can’t fault a thing. Helen was really easy to contact and enable access.

Superb property in a private location in the heart of Alnmouth

The property had everything including a private walled garden, a fully equipped kitchen with all the paraphernalia and white goods. You were not aware that you were in the centre of a busy village with all the necessary shops, pubs etc within a few yards. Contact with the host is to be commended.
