Afslappende Lakefront Mountain Home

Briarcliff Lodge er et afslappende lakefront bjerghus beliggende nær de charmerende byer Cashiers and Highlands i North Carolina og sidder direkte på bredden af Lake Glenville. Kun lidt over en time fra funky Asheville er vores hjem det perfekte sted at komme væk med venner og familie.
Vores hjem består af 3 fulde etager, hver med eget dæk, 2 fuldt udstyrede køkkener, 4 5 badeværelser, 3 brandpladser, 3 tv (Hulu, Netflix & kabel) og mange hyggelige siddepladser. alle som udgør næsten 4.000 kvadratfod. 4 soveværelser, hver med kingsize senge og komplette badeværelser samt en dronning murphy seng og en airmadras til rådighed gør vores sted behageligt for op til 12-15 gæster.
Vores nyligt færdige kælder giver plads til at underholde og løsne. Udstyret med et andet køkken, poolbord, stort fladskærms / siddeområde og et bordfodbold.
Det udendørs rum gør vores hjem til det perfekte sted for udendørs / indendørs levende; Med en ny kaj / svømmeplatform (20x20) kan du docke din båd og personlig vandfartøj eller leje på sø, 2 udendørs firepits til sjov underholdning, grill ud på dækket eller besøge lokale restauranter i byen.

Udendørs brændeovn fra hovedniveau med udsigt over Lake Glenville til rustikke runde-brand-sammenkomster. En anden udendørs ildsted er placeret tæt på kajen.

Great stay

The lodge was very roomy and really nice amenities. Even though it was over Thanksgiving and cold we had a great time. Our kids and grandkids had the best time. Will probably stay again.

Fantastic Lake House

The house is located in a great spot on Lake Glenville and has tons of space for multiple families to be together but also have their own space. It was very well appointed in the kitchen also and the fire pits got tons of use!

Family Getaway

Our family had a wonderful week at Briarcliff! The house was clean and had everything we needed. Doug was a great host! The lower level of the house had a foosball and pool team that kept our children entertained all week. We hope to make a return trip during the summer to enjoy the lake!

Comfort and Beauty

The location was perfect and accommodations were comfortable. We had the whole family here and there was enough room to spread out or be cozy - whatever the mood. The lake access and dock were great for our boat rental, we made use of the fire pit for s’mores and had many late evening games. A return is clearly in the cards for us!

Family vacation

The cabin was so spacious and very well stocked! The beds were all king size so no sibling issues fighting for the king bed! The dock was amazing , we were outside everyday relaxing fishing or sitting around the fire pit . Honestly it was so nice with everything we needed no one wanted to go out . We rented a pontoon boat for a day , highly recommend . Thanks Doug for sharing your wonderful family retreat !

Location Location Location!!

We spent a lovely week on the Lake at Briarcliff Lodge. Although dated, very well appointed with almost everything you need. The owner was easily accessible when we had questions. We can recommend Briarcliff lodge especially for large groups....we were only 3 people and dog so we used only half of the space available!! Sitting out on the porches or down on the dock were the highlight of our time there. The view of the lake is great and truly enhanced our stay. Thanks Doug!!

4th of July at the lake

We could not have been happier with the location and view from this beautiful home on the lake! The home is very spacious and has all of the amenities. The property owner could not have been more helpful and attentive. Our family had a wonderful week at the lake. Thank you!

Great townhouse

Briarcliff was exactly as advertised: convenient & beautiful location, large (shared) dock, two fire pits, and plenty of space for a big family. The actual parking lot in front of the house is a little tight as others have written, however, the Trillium Lakeside restaurant is right next-door and they have three levels of parking. The owner Doug was very informative and responsive.

Great location for NC lakefront house

We had a great time renting this lakefront house and really enjoyed our stay! The Trillium neighborhood is very nice, and the house is in a good location on Lake Glenville. We enjoyed hiking, boating, seeing waterfalls, and using the campfire pits by the house for roasting s’mores. Only downfall is you have to share the dock but that didn’t happen until the very end of the week. Very spacious house with beautiful views!!

Thanks Kelly, I'm very Happy your stay was enjoyed!! The 20 x 20 Dock is an awesome place to hang out and swim, sharing on occassion is necessary. Unfortunately Duke Power will not allow two docks, but I understand your comment. There is plenty of room to dock two boats and jet ski's . Paradise in the mountains

The communication with the host was exceptional and the property was magnificent. The views to the lake are breathtaking. Each night we gathered around the fire pit and enjoyed the crisp evenings. Three of the four bedrrooms are master suites. The 4th did not have a window or vent, but was still comfortable. The host provided us with a lot of information about the area and we wound up renting a pontoon boat and spent an afternoon cruising around the 26 mile lake. It was an awesome place for our annual reunion of 4 retired military couples.

Wedding

Used house to accommodate family for a wedding. All was good…communication with owner, check in etc. There is construction going on right next to home but that is temporary and wasn’t an issue for us; parking was an issue as next door unit guests were using our designated parking at times because with rain and gravel there were issues…overflow parking worked fine. Disappointed that Murphy bed was broken as we were planning on using it but there was a blowup bed provided. Nice unit and beautiful setting

Escaping the Florida heat

Wonderful locationGreat communication with the ownerAmbience reminiscent of a conglomerate of garage sale items.Furniture (if you can call it that) should pretty much all be replaced.No shampoos (bring your own!)Dishwasher detergent (bring your own!), they had one pod.Only one garbage can (not bear proof). We were instructed to keep the garbage inside the house (say what?)Dock had to be shared with the neighbors (a bit awkward when you have 8 guests).BTW the Murphy bed was out of commission, therefore you have to subtract 2 guests.The neighbors were very friendly.The parking was extremely challenging and inconvenient.We opted for insurance in case of breakage, etc., theystill withheld 500 for damage deposit.

Hello, I'm very sorry for the items you had issues with. We had a significant water heater leak earlier and major repairs were done on the main and lower floors, however some items were not 100% painted due to contractor and timing issues with the season start. The decks get power washed and painted every 3-4 years and unfortunately we are at the end of the current cycle. We will modify the cleaning schedule to better address this issue. We replaced two doors on the side of the home and have plans to replace the rear doors as well. Our decision was budgetary and believed the rear doors were fine, just not great. A new roof was installed this season and the siding you reference is next on the list. Tub drains should certainly drain freely and were working perfectly at the beginning of the summer. I will take care to have our cleaning contractor closely monitor this in the future and sorry for the inconvenience. I would have sent maintenance to correct this issue had I been notified. Please feel free to send me the pictures you reference to assist in my correction of these concerns. Please feel free to contact me directly to discuss anything. Nice house on a beautiful lake, but some things could be better

We recently spent a week at the Briarcliff Lodge. There are many positives to this property. The location is very good allowing you to go into Cashiers for groceries, shopping, or dining out. The lake is gorgeous. The view of the lake is obstructed by trees except from the top level. The walk to the dock can be a little tricky for young children or older adults. We rented a pontoon boat two days and the kids loved tubing and knee boarding. There is plenty of room in the house for at least 10 people. It is well equipped and was clean. When we rented this place we did not know it was a duplex with a shared dock. Our neighbors for the week were very nice and we had no problems. Sometimes someone would avoid going to the dock because there were so many people on it. I could see how with certain groups this could be a problem. The parking is not the best. It is a little difficult getting in and out close to the house, but we parked in the parking lot of the restaurant next door. There were a couple of unusual circumstances that probably would not normally occur. The previous renters had left the place in a mess ( and damaged a couple of doors) so the maids were not able to let us in on time. Also roofers were there two days pounding on the roof all day.

Hello Duane, Thank you for your comments and observations. I am happy that overall things were good. Were are planning to construct added parking in addition to the three spots already available. The steepness of our mountain setting does make it tight for cars The doors being damaged by the prior guests was unfortunate and I am very sorry for the inconvenience. The roof was intended to be complete long before your arrival, a late storm in the spring did damage and once started the roof contractor ran into more rain delays. This is the first time ever the 4 pm arrival time could not be met. Our cleaning contractor called me to alert me to the situation but was unable to correct all the issues by 4 pm. Briarcliff Lodge

Our stay at Briarcliff Lodge in Cashiers, NC was so relaxing! The home itself is beautifully set up for large groups. We had 8 people and never felt crowded, with 3 separate floors everyone was able to have their own space when wanted and come together to play pool or foosball whenever! We made dinner for 2 of the nights we stayed and found everything you would needed, just like at home:) The owner Doug has done a fantastic job of outfitting home and also communicating back to us quickly if we had any questions. And the views of Lake Glenville are just stunning. We spent many hours just sitting on one of three decks or on the boat dock, watching wildlife and the glorious fall leaves. Would highly recommend and look forward to visiting again!

Great stay on the lake!

Pros: Home is great for large families w/ kids, as it has two living levels, both with full kitchens. Great lake views, and access. Location is very convenient to Cashiers and surrounding areas. Host was very kind to allow for an early check in for some family that flew into town early. Lake is beautiful, and has 3 waterfalls leading into it. Cons: This home is a duplex, and the dock is shared. There is absolutely no reason this shouldn't be clearly stated in the listing. We found out via another review just a few weeks before our arrival. Fortunately, we were very lucky that no one else was renting the home next to us. Had there been a family our size trying to utilize the dock like we were, it would have been a major issue considering we had no reason to believe it wasn't private. The furniture was suitable, but is quite dated. Parking is tight.

We love this area for family and friend getaways. We built this home in 1995 and have been enjoying and adding amenities ever since.... I'm custom home builder. Top season is from Memorial to Labor Day, but a great value year round and holidays! Our immediate family and extended family visit often. With capacity to spread out (and/or rent the adjacent home for extra large gathering) on three floor with private areas when needed, this is an awesome time away in the mountains and on the lake!

Awesome cooler weather in the summer, Wonderful Lake activities off dock, Very Comfortable climate, golf, water activities, dining and shopping. Area of high end properties and lots of interesting things to do and visit in the area; Cashiers, Lake Glenville, Highlands and Sapphire Valley.

Camp fires at the fire pit, great lakefront location, spectacular views, relax and entertain on the 20x20 dock during the day and retreat to our comfy home and grill your favorite meal on our large gas grill next to the fire pit or visit many awesome dining venues around the area in Cashiers, Sapphire or Highlands. Hiking, waterfalls, rent a pontoon boat, ski, fish or other lake activities, Rustic natural stone steps to the dock, kayaks and lake.
