A wonderful and relaxing stay in palatial house and gardens

Faultless. Terrific hosts, very friendly. Food and drinks provided for us on arrival which was a lovely touch. Would go back in a heartbeat. The kids absolutely loved the garden, pool, frogs, lizards. Breathtaking sky at night, saw the milky way and an owl in flight. Don't hesitate to book.

Lovely family friendly holiday

We have three children (aged 9, 8 and 9 months) and stayed here for just under two weeks. Michele and Adrian are brilliant hosts and were so kind and welcoming. When we arrived, the fridge was filled with various delicious local essentials to get us started, including an amazing (and huge) homemade lasagne and pavlova. The house was clean and had everything we needed, and there is a washing machine in a separate out-building which was really useful. The gardens are lovely and the children really enjoyed the swings and the pool, particularly as the weather was so hot during our stay. We loved our stay and were really sad to leave!

It seems but yesterday that we were preparing for our first visitors at the start of the summer season and it has made us appreciate how quickly the family holiday passes by. To this end we endeavor to make every day count. We know from experience that a simple meal ready to pop in the oven and a bottle of chilled wine help after a long drive. Your children were a delight and credit to you and the pictures they prepared for us have pride of place. We were sorry to see you leave.

En vacances comme à la maison !

Réservée une semaine, la maison de maître a tenue toutes ses promesses ! Calme, bien équipée , grand terrain parfaitement entretenu par les propriétaires, jeux pour les plus petits et piscine nettoyée chaque jour (trop bonne d'après notre garçon de 7 ans) La décoration de la maison est soignée et les chambres de belles dimensions sont très agréables, une salle de bains par chambre à l'étage!! Si le temps n'est pas au beau fixe de nombreuses activités sont à faire avec les enfants (le cormenier, vallée des singes...) Mais le plus marquant est l'accueil de Micheline et Adrian disponibles, à l'écoute tout en étant discrets. Les petites attentions du séjour ont été grandement appréciées par les enfants!!

Charmant vakantiehuis

Heel mooie locatie. Fijne gastvrouw/heer die steeds ter beschikking staan bij vragen. Wifi viel soms weg, maar dit werd opgelost.

Maison très belle et confortable dans un domaine vaste et très bien entretenu.

Grande maison confortable et très beau jardin. Les hôtes sont très accueillants et sympathiques mais toujours discrets. Nous avons passé une semaine de détente en famille. Nous recommandons vivement cette location si vous voulez vous sentir comme dans une maison de vacances familiale. Merci Micheline et Adrian pour vos gentilles attentions.

Très bon sejour!

La maison est tres propre. Sejour au calme. Grand jardin avec piscine. Les hôtes sont tres accueillants, a l ecoute et restent discrets. Nous avons passé un tres bon séjour je recommande.

Propriété et environnement très agréables

Nous avons passé un bon séjour et nous recommandons cette location. La propriété est magnifique, la région est très agréable. Les propriétaires sont aux petits soins et très gentils. Une seule chose à revoir : la literie très ancienne qui est à changer, à éviter si vous avez des problèmes de dos (les surmatelas ne sont pas suffisants)

Definitely 5 stars if not more!!!

Absolutely beautiful and perfect. The hosts Mich and Adrian were absolutely amazing. We was a group of two families 7 of us altogether. When we arrived Mich had made us all a lovely Lasagna with salad and even made us a pudding too. The fridge was full too including wine. The house was absolutely beautiful plenty of room for all of us. Everything you could think you would need on holiday Mich and Adrian had it covered and available. The garden is wonderful lots to look at they have a little orchard with lots of fruit trees. The outside facilities including a swing set for children was very well used by the children they loved to play outside. The swimming pool and hot tub are all secured behind a fence which is great so you don’t have to worry about children playing in the garden. The children absolutely enjoyed playing in the pool just as much as us adults did. We had some lovely days out to Civray. We parked near a park and enjoyed a lovely walk into the centre square. We also went to La Vallee Des Singes which is the monkey park and we went to the indoors crocodile place which both are great the children really enjoyed both. We also drove into Poitiers which is lovely to walk around and enjoy the sites. The box of leaflets that’s available in the house came in very useful too and Mich and Adrian also gave us some recommendations of places to go. Will definitely recommend and we will most definitely be going back. Thank you Mich and Adrian for making our holiday certainly one to remember x

Beautiful Gites,

We have just thoroughly enjoyed 10 days staying at the Gites De Vergne. Both Gites are tastefully presented, very comfortable and well equipped. The location is beautiful and peaceful with lovely spacious gardens, good sized swimming pool and hot tub. The owners/hosts went out of their way to make us feel welcome providing a welcoming and tasty first night meal and provisions for breakfast. Would highly recommend.

Superbe!

We have just spent the most wonderful week at this lovely gite. The setting is beautiful, the kindest hosts you could imagine and a huge variety of activities within 30 minutes - canoeing, mazes, a fantastic wildlife park...what more could you want?! We were 3 adults and stayed with our 3 children (ages 7, 5 and 2), the gardens were stunning, the pool was safe and fun and the gite contained every imaginable luxury. But the highlight of our stay were our lovely hosts. We have used VRBO for over 10 years and have had fabulous experiences, but Adrian and Micheline are the kindest, most thoughtful hosts we have met to date. We consider ourselves lucky to have booked this lovely gite and very much look forward to returning!

Super séjour détente en famille!

Nous avons passé de super vacances chez Micheline et Adrien . La maison est du style maison de maître tout comfort avec des très originales décorations. Le jardin est splendide, très fleuri avec balançoire et une grande piscine protégée par une clôture (pratique quand on a les enfants!). Il y a beaucoup d’activites dans les environs mais juste passer les vacances au calme dans la campagne est super reposant! Nous avons adoré! Les propriétaires sont très chaleureux et toujours disponibles! Vraiment un merci pour tout!

Quelle superbe famille! C’était un plaisir de les rencontrer et partager notre propriété avec eux. Ils ont utilisés tout le jardin et la piscine profitant du jardin entièrement.

Fantastic Location And Owners

Great location, weather and owners. The property is in quiet location surrounded by owners grounds, gardens and great sized pool for our children to enjoy. Lots to do around for all types of holidays, yet you can relax in peace at the Gite. Owners were fantastic and they could not do enough for us and were a lovely couple. We are 100% going back next year and taking family with us. I can not highly recommend this Gite enough, thank you for a lovely holiday and great memories.

Very welcoming hosts and a beautiful place to stay

From the moment we booked this property nothing could have been too much trouble for our host Miche and Adrian. Upon arrival we were certainly not disappointed. Masion de Maitre's large rooms are furnished with a mixture of antique and contemporary furniture in great style. The beautiful kitchen/living room is very well equipped and the icing on the cake was the lovely meal awaiting us upon arrival, plus a fridge stocked with goodies to ease us into the holiday mood! The gardens surrounding the property were beautiful and the pool and sundeck so inviting it was hard to drag ourselves away. However we managed it and found Civray to be sleepy little town with all the basic amenities one needs and one or two good restaurants. A visit to Poitiers is also recommended should you feel the need for 'bright lights'. All in all a wonderful location and fantastic hosts. Thank you for letting us share your lovely home. We hope we can visit again sometime.

Harmonious, Gentle sway to Life

If you are looking for a little taste of Shangri-La with a simple yet classy touch look no further than this quaintly contained paradise. My family and I arrived at this beautiful Gite and received such a personal and warm welcome from Miche and Adrian the Hosts. Miche had prepared a tasty lasagne and a home grown salad accompanied by a delicious Pear Torte! the fridge was stocked with cheese and croissants and wine and yummy strawberry jam.....it was an exceptional first impression! The willingness to help in any given situation and the openness we received from these gorgeous hosts was unforgettable!!! We will certainly be steering many more people in your direction so that they can too experience their little taste of heaven!! Thank you so much once again for making our stay memorable!

Wonderful surprise

What a fantastic reception from the owners, locally grown ingredients prepared for us in our welcome meal plus a well stocked kitchen full of goodies for our stay. The pool was definitely inviting and utilised on a daily basis. I would thoroughly recommend this tranquil idyllic setting to anyone, fantastic value for money and nothing was too much trouble for the owners who made us feel more like family than paying guests.
