Thank you for the time you took to write your review. We only wish that you had pointed out your issues while you were at the property as these could have been easily rectified. With regard to the break in power, the owners of the property are in the UK and the housekeeper lives 25 mins away so neither can be aware of works being carried out in the village by local companies unless they are informed by guests. Naturally the gates to the property can be opened manually, it would be unsafe otherwise. The pool is attended to every Friday - as most guests arrive on Saturday as you did. This works well and there is a mobile cleaning unit available for guests use if necessary. Again, additional cleaning could have been arranged had we known you were dissatisfied. As regards to cleaning to "German standards" we have welcomed many guests from Germany over the years. We have never had any negative comments regarding cleanliness and in fact many have returned year after year. Again, if you had communicated this to us we would have had it rectified immediately. We are always reticent to retain any of the deposit paid by our guests and in fact this has only happened twice in seven years. We retained a nominal amount to cover costs of replacing white house towels which appeared to have been used to clean the four dogs that were brought to the property. Furthermore, it appeared that the dogs had been allowed to use white leather sofas as a bed. We can categorically assure you that the sum retained in no way covered the full costs incurred. It would have been courteous to have advised that dogs were being brought to the property in the first instance. The house Agreement states that the boundaries are not fully secure and that wild animals from the mountain may stray into the garden. However, in the seven years of ownership there have been no other reports of wild animals straying into the garden and in all of that time we have never spotted a stray dog near the property nor seen any evidence of their presence.
