Our stay at the oceanfront apartment was perfect! The apartment matched the description and pictures in the listing. The breathtaking views from the apartment, proximity to the beach, restaurants and other attractions, amenities like pool etc makes it an excellent choice. They were very thoughtful and had kept beach towels, chairs and umbrellas which were super useful. I would highly recommend this place for families or friends who want to stay in Maui!

Beautiful corner 3 bedroom unit on 5th floor. Great for our grandkids having both sand beach and pool. Owner was very attentive. We'll be back!

Absolutely Fantastic

This was our 2nd time staying at Mr. Bayer’s beautiful condo. He is absolutely the best host. He is in constant contact to make sure you have the most wonderful experience. The condo just as beautiful as described. We will definitely be staying there again.

Maui Dream come true!

Our family of 7, including our young adult & teen kids, spent 4 amazing nights in this beautiful condo on the beach. Communication with the owner was perfect. The home was clean & had everything needed for cooking, including many spices & ice maker. Towels, boogie boards, snorkeling gear, coolers in the condo for use. The bathroom set up has the sinks outside the toilet & shower rooms so they can be used even when the shower rooms were occupied. Washer & dryer in the unit worked great. PLENTY of space for a large group to spread out in or outside on the 2 lanais.The lanai off the living room has a large outside table & seating for up to 10 people; we ate our meals there. The view from the living room and lanai is AMAZING! The beach w/mild waves is just below the lanai & perfect for swimming. The A/C worked great, but we mostly just had window & lanai screens open with ceiling fans for a perfect breeze w/o A/C. There’s a small general store within a 5-7 minute walk. There are grocery stores & anything you’d need within a 10 minute drive. It’s close to Kaanapali beach& hotel areas, but “our” beach was a little more secluded & not overpopulated, which was nice. The resort is safe& quiet. The stars at night were beautiful & relaxing. We’d been planning of our family’s 50th state visit to Hawaii for years. Maui was all we dreamed it would be & this condo was truly “icing on the cake” to be our vacation home. We hope we can return to this home again someday! Thank you!!!

Memorable Visit

Thank you to Rob and Virginia for allowing us to stay in your home. Your abode is located in a perfect location in Kahana, and the pictures do not do this justice. It has a fully equipped kitchen, and all the beach accessories for the perfect vacation. Our two weeks at this location was perfect for me and my family. We have stayed in many locations along the West Maui coast, and this was definitely our best experience. We look forward to staying here again next year. Thanks again, and much appreciated

Family Get-Away

This property was perfect for my husband and me, our grown children and a 21 month old grandbaby! The kitchen was so well appointed - spices, Tupperware, pans, utensils, pitchers...there wasn't one item I thought I needed. The restaurant s great for lunch or casual dinner. Probably the best $8 Mai Tai I've ever had. The beach is just steps from the unit. Swimming with the turtles was fabulous! We slept with the windows wide open to the sound of the breaking waves - no need for air conditioning. The unit is quite large - perfect for a toddle...very safe. Lots of board games, pool toys and pool towels. The owner was very good at staying in touch to make sure check in went well (it did). We'll be back!

Excellent experience at Sands of Kahana

We visited Maui with all our children and grandchildren. Seven of us stayed in this condo. The trip was planned as my 44 y/o daughter,'s dream vacation. Unfortunately, she lost her battle with cancer between planning and completion of the trip. This condo would have fulfilled everything she dreamed about. The view and the whale activity were beyond amazing. The condo location was perfect for activities, shopping, beaches, etc. The amenities and cleanliness were beyond expectations. A very spacious condo with plenty of room for family. This unit is well stocked and managed by the owner down to every detail. The owner was very much involved and direct communication was deeply appreciated, as well as local contact information in case of problems. Best VRBO I have ever stayed in. None of us wanted to leave!!! Susan

Great location, condo in need of update

We just returned from 7 nights at this condo, with a group of 8 people. Positive comments: The Sands of Kahana was a great resort, loved the closeness to the beach, wonderful amenities. The pool side cafe has great food, fun atmosphere. "Elvis" even came one evening and put on a little show on the lawn! The condo itself is spacious, with large windows allowing a wonderful view, and the air conditioning was a lifesaver, as we had very hot and humid weather, with almost no wind. We had plenty of towels and bedding, and the kitchen had the necessary pots and pans. We felt it was definitely a good price and a good choice for a large group. On the down side... Both sofa sleepers were very uncomfortable. Ended up needing for two couples to sleep in one room, lacking privacy for them. We requested the twins be put together for a king size when we booked it, and that wasn't done upon arrival. When I called to see if they would still do that, they were not very happy and said there would be a fee for the "inconvenience". All of the beds were very firm, no soft comfy fluff here... and the pillows were flat. I honestly couldn't sleep past about 6:00 am because I was so uncomfortable. Towels, linens, bedding, seemed to be old and well used. The dish washer never seemed to work properly, so we did our dishes by hand. The electric skillet was also not hot enough to use. The decor seemed to be in sad need of updating, with pink and blue tile work in the front bathroom, out dated and faded "art work" and wallpaper peeling in places, fixtures were chipped and rusting, walls needed painting. The curtains in the living room have sun rotted and were shredding in spots. The table on the lanai took up the entire space, and no chaise lounge to relax on. The small lanai was too noisy to enjoy because the air conditioning unit was located there. Nearly every other condo had greenery growing in their front window, but ours was empty except for a couple soda cans. The unit feels like it has never had anything done to it since it was built, except the smaller bathroom had newer tile work. Bottom like... Good value for the money, nothing fancy tho.

Amazing stay!

We had a group of 10 stay here and we had the most amazing stay! Absolutely no complaints. Our communication with rob was seamless from the time of booking to the check out process. The condo was immaculate and exactly as pictured and described in the original posting. The property was also wonderful with a really great restaurant right below. We will definitely be staying here if we find ourselves back in Maui!

Great View

Nice clean roomy 5th floor condo with a great view of the ocean and island across the way! Host provides great communication and responds quickly. Provides an assortment of beach and water needs. Large balcony to watch the sun set every night. Right on the beach with great snorkeling. Saw multiple turtles every day! Nice quiet area with shops nearby.

Amazing Time!!!

Our family (11 of us) had a wonderful stay here! The view was amazing! Everything was so easy. I planned all the activities months in advance with the help of the concierge desk! There was a welcome meeting we attended that we learned of a few other activities, including a hike to the near by Blow Hole, which was very scenic and fun! There were grills so we could cook a few meals at home and several stores within a few miles. There were also close by coffee shops that my older kids walked to a few mornings. It was all very safe, I felt comfortable with my kids walking to and from the pool and beach alone. My only suggestion would be to bring extra beach towels. We had plenty of towels provided, but we also went swimming in the beach, the pool, sat in the hot tub at night and then took daily showers. Luckily, there was a washer and dryer to help keep up with our towel usage! Would definitely stay there again!!!

Great view, clean and spacious!

Our stay was perfect. The place had everything we needed to accommodate a senior citizen and a family with kids and teens. There was so much space inside with easy access to the beach, pool, spa, and restaurant. Parking was free. Towels, beach chairs, kitchen utensils.... everything we needed was provided. We have no complaints and would stay again.

#356 Wow!

The property was beautiful and well kept. Our 5th floor condo, #356, overlooked the ocean with views of other islands. This beautiful condo was just what we needed for 4 adults, with lots of room, comfort, and well furnished. Captain Jacks restaurant, on-location, was excellent and was less costly than other local spots. We would choose this condo again in a heart beat!

50th Birthday celebration

The condo is beautiful! Kitchen is huge and stocked with all that is needed utensil and appliance wise. Very spacious facility and the view is incredible! So close to the beach and pool. Air conditioning which is a plus as not all the units at sands of Kahana have air. Rob was amazing to work with and his communication was great!! Mahalo from the bottom of my heart!!!

Fabulous Family Vacation

The condo was air conditioned, in a perfect location 5th floor looking down on the beach. The kitchen had plenty of dishes&pots&pans The grills on the grounds were good. The restaurant was nice. Pool a good size. Water on the beach was calm for swimming chairs for relaxing we would definitely rent this condo again! 5 nights was not enough!

It met all our needs. Very spacious with enough sleeping spots for all ten of us. Kitchen was well supplied with cooking items. Absolutely loved the view from the balcony. Our only complaint was the floors didn’t seem as clean as they could be.

What a View!

We had an amazing time here. The condo met or exceeded all of our expectations. It was incredible to wake up and go straight to the lanai to watch the whales jumping. The room felt spacious, clean and quiet. There were plenty of amenities nearby and the staff were all friendly.

We are a family of 6. Mom, Dad and our four children. Mom and Dad are retired United States Naval officers. 3 of our childen are now in the Navy and one is stationed on Oahu since he loved going to Hawaii with us on family vacations. We are very proud and humbled by all 3 of them

We first bought a 2 bedroom timeshare at the Sands of Kahana in 2003 sight unseen. We were promised by the realtor that sold us the timeshare that the Sands of Kahana units were the biggest 2 bedroom condos on Maui. We wanted a big place since we had the 4 young children at the time. When we first checked into our unit, we couldn't believe how big the unit felt. We then had a great family vacation and fell in love with the Sands of Kahana complex. So, we decided that we wanted to be a place outright that we could use anytime during the year. With our growing family we decided to get a 3 bedroom place. Although there are only a few 3 bedroom units in the complex, we were so happy to find a 5th floor, corner unit with two lanais that is right on the beach.

Derfor er dette overnatningssted unikt

There are fabulous ocean views from the lanais, living room, dining room, kitchen and master bedroom. Since we have a corner unit we have a great ocean view but wer also get a great view of the ocean front pool right below us. It is comforting when we can look down below and see the kids playing in the pool and hot tub right below us.
From December to April you should be able to see the whales in the bay from our 5th floor lanai. In the past few years, a nice turtle reef has developed a few hundred yards south of the Sands of Kahana beach so you may see some turtles lying on the beach or some turtle heads popping out of the water.
