Wonderful Cozy Home

We loved staying here. The place really felt like home and our hosts were very kind. The bed was really comfortable and we enjoyed eating out on the patio. Great location!

Lovely Sutter Cottage

Had a great stay! The cottage is fully equipped, cozy and roomy! Maureen, the host was very communicative and easy to get ahold of. Location is also great for enjoying Sutter St. and Historic Folsom.

Wonderful Property within Walking Distance to Old Town Folsom

We extremely enjoyed our stay. The property was wonderfully located in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance to old town Folsom where we enjoyed eating at several yummy pubs and restaurants. We enjoyed long walks around the lake and visited the local zoo. The property was very nicely updated and clean, and the bed was extremely comfortable. I would highly recommend and plan to stay here again when I come back to Folsom.

Old Town Folsom

Great location walkable to restaurants, ice cream parlor, bookstore and much more. Comfortable unit with great outdoor space. Second time staying here!

Wonderful !

We loved our week at the cottage. It is spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and has everything needed to be “at home” while away from home, including a very comfortable bed. Also, the location is quiet and an easy short walk to the charming town.

Lovely stay

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The cottage was clean, comfortable, and fully stocked with everything that I needed. Maureen was communicative and checked in with me during the stay. I have already booked my next stay at the property.

Better then expected

Place was perfect, even better then expected. Not only is it in the best location for spending any time in Folsom the place was perfectly prepared and Maureen is a top notch host. Plan on staying there again on my next trip to the area.

Cute Cottage in Historic Folsom

Perfect cottage, great get away! Our week stay could not of been better. The owners did an incredible job of providing everything you could possibly need. We really enjoyed the outdoor deck and the beautiful setting. Cozy and quiet location was perfect for walking to downtown Historic Folsom. We can not wait to go back!

Quite retreat in old town Folsom

We recently stayed at this beautiful cottage with our 2 dogs. There are lots of trails and the bike trail close by along with parks within walking distance. The cottage was very clean and has updated new fixtures and furnishings. It was great to be within walking distance to great restaurants too! Really enjoyed our stay.

Outstanding in Every Way!

This Folsom cottage is ideal for a couple looking for someplace comfortable, quiet and serene. Walking distance to all the tourist action, the cottage itself is surrounded by lush mature trees and plantings creating a quiet oasis. We were in town for a wedding so didn’t do any of the tourist attractions; staying in a residential area was ideal. The lovely deck was perfect for morning journaling and evening wine. Everything has been newly updated, the bed was more heavenly than any other we’ve ever slept in, and the owners made sure our stay was perfect. 10 out of 10!

Beautiful area and beautiful home away from home with all the neccesities and a very comfortable bed

The historic shops were only a few blocks away as well as several eateries. Host and hostess made sure to let me know to contact them if I needed anything which I did not as this had everything one would need. Loved it💕

AWESOME!

We loved everything about our stay. Beautiful cottage within walking distance to bike paths, restaurants, shops & parks. Maureen was very responsive to any questions & sweet with our young daughter. The three of us enjoyed the pool every day during our stay. So much better than staying in a hotel. We'll definitely be back!

Review of Folsom Cottage

Our stay at this property was very pleasant. The cottage has been renovated and the upgrades are very modern. Everything was clean and comfortable. Maureen makes herself available to her guests and makes it a point to come meet them. We look forward to staying at this property in the spring or summer when we can sit on the deck and enjoy the pool!

immaculate cottage with all the comforts of home

So grateful to have found this place! The location is ideal, brief stroll to shops and restaurants and less than 5 miles' drive to Beals Point at Lake Folsom. The pictures don't fully capture what a beautiful, very tastefully decorated space this is. . . nor could they capture how comfortable one feels here. Truly does not feel like a rental, but rather like an opportunity to be a guest in someone's very lovely home.

Hidden Gem!

We are so grateful to have found this wonderful hideaway steps from Old Town Folsom. What a prestine, peaceful, well appointed cottage! We so appreciated having a full kitchen, with every possible detail considered and supplied. From the deck, to the spa like bathroom, we loved it all! Just wish we had time to enjoy the “spool.” But, I know we will be back. Thank you for such wonderful hospitality. Venus & Geoff

Was everything it was promised to be and more!

As a VRBO owner, we are very attuned to what makes a rental property feel like home, and this wonderful place did exactly that! So well appointed and comfortable. Even bowls for our sweet dog. The owners were delightful, communicative and welcoming. The kitchen well stocked and the bed divine. Great linens, including soft towels. I had to work while I was there, and the place offered lightening fast wifi. And it is only a 5 minute walk to the charming town of Folsom and to great trails along the Lake Natoma. We had an absolutely delightful time and if ever back in the area, we will most definitely stay here again! Thank you Maureen for everything!!!

Clean, fresh and perfect in every way!

Sutter Cottage was absolutely perfect for what we needed!! I am a little picky when it comes to staying in someone's home and Maureen's place exceeded my expectations!! She has thought of everything! It is a bright, clean, well decorated and up to date little retreat. Plenty of places to walk to. Perfect for our family. We have 2 small boys who can get a little loud and rambunctious. This cottage does not share walls and has a garage below. Took the stress of saying "be quiet" and "stop jumping around" out of my vacation. We loved this little place and look forward to staying here again!

Fun in Folsom

I rented this place for my family who was visiting and they loved being greeted by the friendly dogs and thought the cottage was adorable. My sister-in-law appreciated the nice kitchen and remodeled bathroom. My brother liked the fact that he could walk down to visit the old powerhouse and walk across the historic bridge. Everyone enjoyed hanging out around the outdoor table and taking a dip in the pool. The location was perfect to walk down to Sutter Street for dinner and shopping. This is a perfect size place for two people. It was a little cramped adding two teenage girls with blow up mattresses. Overall, everyone loved it and would highly recommend it for anyone wanting a Fun Folsom Experience!

Best VRBO!!!!

My husband and I travel A LOT and use VRBO all of the time, and we both agree that this is one of the best VRBO experiences we've ever had. Maureen and Tom have created a beautiful, relaxing get-away with exquisite details and thoughtful touches. Not only are the design and finishes refined, but the location couldn't be more perfect. Only a block away from amazing no-leash wooded running trails, one block from at least 100 miles of paved cycling trails, and one block from the cutest historic shopping/restaurant district. We always travel with our two small Shelties, so finding a VRBO as nice as this that also welcomes our furry kids is a treasure! We will stay here EVERY TIME that we are in the area! We LOVED our time here. Thank you, Maureen and Tom, for sharing your wonderful cottage! Hope to see you again soon! :)

"Comfort At Its Best"

What a great find. Nice quiet location just a couple of blocks from Old Town Folsom. Maureen is a great host and responds to any requests you might have. The one bedroom apartment above their garage is very private and very comfortable. Nice kitchen that was well equipped. King bed was also very comfortable. Pictures on VRBO are accurate. This was our first time staying here to visit family and friends in the Sacramento area. We will be staying here for all future visits. Folsom is a great location with many restaurants and you also have the American River Bike trails within walking distance. Maureen also informed us they have a 2 bedroom remodeled cottage just a few blocks away that is coming available. I am not into writing gushy reviews so this is it. So look no further just book it!

A little cottage, tucked away...

We decided to get away for a few days and discover the cycling community around Folsom, hearing much about the bike paths and the installation of the new Johnny Cash trail. It was our anniversary and we have some family in Rocklin but don't like imposing, nor enjoy hotels. The cottage is situated behind the house, with a patio. Plenty of shade, peace and quiet, and accessible by foot to the downtown Folsom and the bike trails. The property owner left us with clear instructions, but accessible if ever needed. We never even met, but felt like they were very approachable and very nice people. The cottage is lovely - comfortable and very well cared for. They put their own imprint on the place and had just about anything and everything you could think of - towels, coffee, cold water, you name it ... even a complete binder of what to do in the area and some clear instructions of the cottage. The neighbors are friendly and so are the owners pets - which I only spotted Nala. If it was not so hot, I think they all would have been more social. The area has a lot to offer - there is a museum at the Prison and outdoor concerts. We were able to meet family for dinner in El Dorado Hills, while getting to listen to the symphony, and walking through the Town Center. Dining in the Downtown Folsom is great - visit the Chicago Fire, they have a gluten free crust with goat cheese, olives, spinach, and mushrooms that was delicious. We also enjoyed (twice!) the Sutter Street Grill for breakfast. My husband enjoyed their sausage gravy, while I splurged on the bacon and an omlette of mushrooms, spinach, avocado, and feta. The Sutter St Taqueria is also worth a mention - a lot of food and spicy salsa...but we found Messy's Tacos & Treats in Loomis.... I would not only say that Messy's is legit but operating at a higher level. Thanks Maureen and family - we hope to return!

Simply Outstanding

What a great little place to stay. Very good management very well appointed one bedroom one bath, with the kitchen and everything you need to use it…but the best part is it’s Location, and that I would have to say is outstanding ! A block from downtown old Folsom and the American River powerhouse museum yet dead quiet all day and all night…We will be back..!

Great town location, great hosts

Our hosts went above and beyond for us - topping off a lovely 3 night stay in their ADU apartment. Several times the hosts swept in and saved us - once we needed duct tape and another time we asked them to mail something we forgot. The apartment is nicely appointed and so so close to "old downtown Folsom!"

We love old town Folsom! This picture was our 30th anniversary photo, taken at a favorite spot on the American River, just steps from our home and the cottage. As a working couple, we know how hard it is to fit in quality time...living in this area gives us the opportunity to be active with our family/dogs, get out to dinner, shop and enjoy all of the events the Historic District has to offer. All without ever getting in our car. Maureen has spent over 30 years working in the field of property management. Remodeling this cottage and making it comfortable for our guests came naturally!
