Margie and Walter were wonderful hosts—super friendly, welcoming, and an absolute pleasure to rent from. They went above and beyond to help us plan activities in the area and offered great suggestions that helped make our family trip to Montana extra special.The property was very well maintained, comfortable, and accurately described in the listing. We really appreciated how helpful and accommodating Margie and Walter were throughout our stay. Well equipped for a family stay!

Easy drive from Bozeman airport, plenty of space, and extras to the kids, sports equipment, pool floats, games, great views and lovely hosts!

Excellent stay!

Margie and Walter are great hosts! The property is amazing and the surroundings are gorgeous. Homes are immaculate and comfortable. Lots of amenities and the view of the mountains is breathtaking! Outstanding place to stay in Montana.

Walter and Margie are truly wonderful people and were extremely helpful and informative. They go above and beyond to make sure everything is just right. Their cabins are just absolutely beautiful, clean, cozy and had everything we needed for our stay! We felt right at home and didn’t want to leave. It was a very quiet relaxing space with beautiful views from every direction. Also in such a great location. Our young kids had a blast and they had lots of stuff to do there. We all greatly enjoyed watching the Deer and their fawns come up every day close to the house to eat from the crab apple tree. We will for sure be coming back to stay! It was the best vacation/stay we’ve had yet.. everything was perfect!

Doesn't get better than this for large get togethers!

Beyond the incredible location and scenery the Pleasant Pheasant offered the perfect accommodations for my large family reunion. With four different kitchens every family felt like they had their own space to retreat to if all the relatives became overwhelming. The most surprising thing about the Pleasant Pheasant was how comfortable all the beds were. Every single person in my large family raved about how great they slept. I honestly can't recommend the Pleasant Pheasant enough and I will definitely be back!!

Pleasant Pheasant Paradise

Our group of 16 thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The location is just breathtaking. Mountain views in all directions. The house is situated at the base of one of the mountain ranges and it couldn’t be more peaceful. The house is fully equipped with everything you could need or want for your stay. Margie and Walter go above and beyond to make your stay perfect! We just returned home from our trip and already want to plan our next visit. Look no further for your perfect Montana vacation stay!

Great Place for a Family Vacation

Everything about this place was above our expectations. The views were incredible! The property was immaculate. We enjoyed everything about the property and I have no recommendations for improvement. There was an extra benefit of wildlife (deer, coyotes, prairie dogs) that came with the rental. There was a brief power outage one morning but wasn't under the control of the hosts. If you have a large family, I highly recommend The Pleasant Pheasant and hosts Margie and Walter!

Sandra and Cole get married

Awesome place for a small wedding. We were 15 and stayed for a weeklong fun filled time. Hosts Walter and Margie were wonderful. What was really nice was there were three lodging options each with kitchens so we could split into groups for privacy and gather at the main house for dinners, snacks, afternoon-late night games and the nuptials!!! Paradise Valley is one of the most beautiful places in Montana (and there are many) but this is our favorite. Close to Chico Hot springs, Sage Lodge, Livingston, Boseman, fishing on the creeks and floating on the Yellowstone River. North Park entrance, Gardiner, is just 37 miles away. Can’t wait to go back!!

A place to rest the soul

Sometime ago (Sept '11), my family (wife and four kids then aged 11, 7, 7 and 5) stayed at The Pleasant Pheasant. With a change of jobs, I have just re-read my email to Margie after we got back to Australia. This is what I said: The Pleasant Pheasant will always be in our memories. It is such a fantastic location and cabin. For a family looking for a taste of Montana - we couldn't recommend it more highly. It is hard to describe the sense of space and majesty you feel when you are there. The two mountain ranges are breathtaking and constantly changing colours and feel. A storm rolled in one night and all we could do was stare as clouds rolled down the mountains. As for the log cabin, what can I say other than we felt right at home, which was exactly what we were after. The kids loved the freedom to be themselves, exploring in Elbow Creek, running around and around the cabin, watching a snake crawl across the yard and deer visiting for breakfast. The drive to Yellowstone National Park was a trip in itself. The Park is huge. I knew it was big but wow! I doubt you could explore what you wanted to in a lifetime. The kids are now Junior Rangers. An afternoon dip at Chicco with the kids was just what the doctor ordered. We also went to the Snowcamp (?) trail head but the kids wouldn't get out of the car until we promised the bears were all gone. Livingstone and Bozeman were both fabulous day trips. Dinner at Montana's Rib & Chop House in Livingston was a highlight. One day the kids parked themselves in the kids' library section of the library in Bozeman (after finding the best candy store in town). Museum of the Rockies was amazing. The kids are also now Bobcats' fans and we have photos and hats to prove it. I won't say goodbye but farewell as I hope you will let us stay again. We will definitely be back. We are already looking at You Tube videos of winter in Bozeman and we are keen for the kids to ski at Bridger and Big Sky. We look at the real estate pages and dream of owning a place in Paradise Valley." Yes. We will be back

I can't say enough good things about this property! The views of the valley and surrounding mountains were absolutely breathtaking and made the every morning and evening unforgettable. The house itself was wonderful spacious, and comfortable. It was stocked with every supply we could possibly need, making our stay completely. Everything was clean, well-maintained. If you're looking for a place for a large family gathering this is the perfect place. So much room for the young kids and the big kids to play.We loved every minute of our stay and would come back!

Fantastic Getaway

Our group of 18 with all age ranges had a wonderful time. The views are to die for. Houses are stocked with everything you need including both indoor and outdoor games. Everything clean and beds are comfortable. Stairs are steep in main house lower level so no elderly. Hosts are great and quickly responsive. You'll have a memorable time.

Perfection!

This property was perfect for our family...with the three separate living quarters, four kitchen areas, plenty of resources at our disposal, beautiful lodging, and beautiful scenery surrounding us every day. We all loved it so much and we had a unforgettable time there. And, we all hope to return some day. The owner met us as soon as we drove up and was exceptionally nice and helpful. Just a great place with great people!

Perfect family vacation spot

We planned a family vacation with our adult children, so there were 4 couples that stayed here. The location was beautiful, quiet and so relaxing. We cooked most of our evening meals at home and it had everything we needed - dishes, condiments, serving bowls, etc. We played football and horse shoe in the yard after dinner. Coffee on the huge deck each morning was spectacular. The beds and pillows were comfy. There is no AC but It was not needed as there was a great breeze each night. It was unusually hot the week we were there (near 90) and we were comfortable in the home. This home was about an hour from Bozeman and 45 minutes to Yellowstone, so perfect location for us. Being out in the open countryside but still within a short drive to town was exactly what we wanted. The owner was very responsive and accommodating when we had questions or needed something. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

A true Montana experience!

This property was exactly everything our party of 7 hoped it would be and more! The views were absolutely breathtaking, and the home was great!! It was just what we were looking for. The location was both far enough away from the city and close enough. The only thing we would have added is A/C. We happened to be there during one of their 3 weeks of summer :)

Beautiful views and full accomondations

We fully enjoyed our stay in this piece of country amid views that took our breath away. The quaint and well equipped cabins were cozy, clean and suited for all kinds of western adventure. Margie was responsive and welcoming in all communication. We were a group of close to 20 of all ages.....every one of us enjoyed our stay.

Fabulous Winter Vacation

What a wonderful vacation, our family stayed at “The Pleasant Pheasant” after Christmas and found everything to be much more than we expected. The location is magnificent with a view of the mountains out the oversized cabin windows and during our trip daily we watch elk grazing on the mountain side. The cabin/house is extremely clean and is fully equipped with everything we needed from good quality towels, sheets and the kitchen had everything and more then we anticipated. Our family consisted of my husband and I along with our two daughters, their husbands and children for a total of ten of us. The place was perfect, plenty of room for everyone. After a day in Yellowstone Park and a dip at Chico Hot Springs (only 15 min away) the whole family returned to the cabin to relax, visit, play games and be together. One of the best family vacations we have had. Much better then all of us in different private room at a hotel. Margie the owner of the home was so pleasant to work with and very helpful with not only information about the home but she gave us ideas for extra activities for the kids, sent us links to maps and local attractions. They even had a sled for the kids to use! If you are looking for a vacation at “The Pleasant Pheasant” you will be very pleased. Enjoy Donna McDonald

Amazing home, best vacation ever! Couldn't have asked for anything more.

My husband, I and our two kids stayed here with another couple and their four kids over Thanksgiving week. We had the greatest time. The house is huge, and the layout couldn't be more perfect for multiple families. Our friends stayed on the bottom floor with the full kitchen, we took the top floor and the mail floor kitchen, and the bedroom on the mail floor also went to our friends. Everything you can think of is there, as far as pots, pans, utensils. Spices and etc were there, and when we needed something in a pinch on Thanksgiving Day, the caretakers the next house over were happy to hook us up. The beds were all so comfortable, great linens, (I usually pack my own sheets, but never took them out of my luggage) Plenty of towels, too. Wi-fi was great, because I kind of panic when I am out of reach. Cell reception was great. Satellite television was awesome too. The men went out hunting all day, and left the women and kids at home, and we had plenty to do. Books, games, movies, all there. This place would be amazing in the summer with the screened in back deck with the grill. We didn't get to use it, but I want to plan a trip someday and go back when it is warmer. About a 40 minute drive south to Yellowstone too! As our first time using VRBO, we didn't know what to expect. This is how we want to vacation from now on. LOVED this house, it is beautiful and clean, and layed out perfectly. Couldn't ask for a more perfect first experience. Thank you for having us!

My family thoroughly enjoyed their stay at the Pleasant Pheasant. It has all the amenities that you could need for a perfect Montana vacation. The views are absolutely amazing and the fishing nearby is incredible. Close to Chico and Pine Creek Cafe!
