Our family was lucky enough to spend a week in this lovely house. Communication with the owner was excellent, but during the lead up and the stay itself. The region is beautiful, with lovely options nearby the house, whether it's going out for a pizza at night, or the butcher around the corner for a BBQ. The pool keeps you cool during the day, and the spacious kitchen is a joy to cook in.

Great place in the less touristic area of Tuscany

Beautiful house and garden, bigger than usual pool, house carefully renovated to a good standard and very practical even for a bigger party. Great views, nice cooling wind blowing to the terrace and close enough for many great restaurants.

An absolute gem

Spectacular 'new and renovated' property. Very smart lay-out, lovely garden and truly large swimming pool. We stayed here with two families and due to the large bath rooms and bedrooms, we all had our privacy. Would highly recommend this property. Owners are very fast, friendly and helpful too.

Perfect Tuscan holiday home

We loved our stay at Le Terrine. Great sized house and very well-equipped with lots of spare capacity for larger groups. We spent a lot of time eating outside, swimming and exploring the local area on foot and by car. Large pool and beautiful scenery - what else do you need?

Special place

We had such a lovely time at the villa. Location is wonderful, and knowing the area we were able to go out and visit our favourite places. Villa has all mod cons, pool is magnificent ( and I have to mention both bathroom towels and pool towels - big and fluffy :)) View is amazing along the valley. Great to have some boardgames on hand and a few of us read some of the books you have there too. All in all a fantastic holiday and would not hesitate to recommend the villa to others.

Lovely house and nice views

Very spacious and beautiful house with all that we needed. Nice pool area and a well equipped kitchen, enough everything for a larger group. We were surprised how cool the house was even when the daily temperature was 36 or even more. Fans were needed at night, though. Fausto and Monica were also very helpful and nice. Very peaceful, still close enough to activities. Next time more than a week!

Wonderful spacious property and amazing pool

Comfortably accommodating 4 adults and 6 children we spent a relaxing two weeks in summer 18. The pool was large enough and clean and welcoming and the grounds and views beautiful. The lavender around the grounds gave off the most amazing smells. Inside comfortably housed us 10 . The rooms all have fans but no air con but we coped Monterchi isn’t a huge town and only a few restaurants so if you want more from the nearest town you might look elsewhere but there was enough for us and the restaurant at the top of the walled town was very atmospheric with great food. We arrived to find a welcome pack of food and essentials in her fridge which was lovely - and lots of inflatables for the pool A wonderful holiday .

Lovely stay in a beautiful location

We had a lovely stay in Le Terrine. The property was very spacious, easily enough for our group of 6 adults and 6 kids: plenty of bedrooms, a large kitchen which was well equipped, and dining room indoors (which we didn’t use) and a terrace with a large table. The terrace offers shade, which was very welcome during the heat when we were there. Beautiful views towards the hills of Umbria which are covered in smallish oak trees and chestnut (even in the heat of summer, the hills and valleys were green.). Harriet had provided a bit of a welcome package (thank you!) and had put fans in most rooms which helped us cope. There were also some bikes by the washing machine which we used for a few trips in the surrounding hills (very nice, but steep!) All in all, a place I would definitely recommend. The only things I could suggest for improvement is to have the pool cleaned more (it was clean when we arrived but a few days of heavy use takes its toll), and to put a few espresso cups in the house (we didn’t find any, and no Italian home is complete without it of course :)). But those are just minor things really, the place is lovely!

Fantastisk hus

Vi var hele familien af sted børn,svigerbørn og 4 børnebørn. Huser var utroligt smukt ,meget rent og der var absolut intet der manglede, man følte sig hjemme fra starten og meget velkommen. Skøn pool, fantastisk udsigt og tæt på indkøbsmuligheder . Vi vil hele familien stærkt anbefale dette dejlige hus og den fine service fra Fausto og ejeren Harriet. Tusind tak for en fantastisk ferie, vi vil helt sikkert vende tilbage igen. Familie fra Danmark.

Harriet’s Haus ist eine wunderbar sanierte Villa mit einer sehr guten Ausstattung in der Küche und auch sonst.Es hat sehr viel Atmosphäre und einen schönen Poolbereich mit Blick in die toskanischen Hügel. Uns war bei der Buchung zuerst nicht klar, dass der Betrag in Pfund angegeben war. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und die Umgebung erkundet.

Third visit to this villa. We love the location, everything you need is provided. Pool is gorgeous. Villa always spic and span. Beds are very comfortable. There is always a lovely basket of goodies waiting for us on the table. Villa within easy reach of good restaurants and lovely villages…and the views are stunning. I’m sure we will be back!

Excellente semaine en Toscane

Nous avons passé une excellente semaine de vacances à Monterchi.(au total 3 familles) Village spacieuse, confortable, très propre, très bien équipée, jardin et piscine parfaitement entretenus. La vue et les paysages avoisinants sont superbes, villa au calme située à 2 kms du bourg. Voiture indispensable. Nous recommandons à 100 %. Le petit plus, un panier très complet nous attendait à notre arrivée de quoi préparer un petit déj ou apéro. Encore merci pour ces vacances de rêve en Toscane.

Een prachtige woning op een zeer mooie locatie en in een mooie omgeving. De woning is van alle gemakken voorzien, schoon en goed onderhouden. Je hoeft je er niet te vervelen. Een aanrader. Wij hebben een prachtige vakantie gehad!

Lots of potential, but needs better maintenance and cleaning

Harriet's Villa is in a good location for exploring a less touristy and charming part of Tuscany. Nonetheless we were disappointed and felt the villa didn't live up to the potential or the listing. It has incredible potential but my Italian friends kept describing it as "lasciata andare" or let go, not maintained. Pros: amazing panorama, location, lots of rooms, lots of games to keep us busy, house stayed cool (except large master suite) during the hottest week of the summer, good communal eating areas, nice welcome pack of food. Pool is a good size and deep at one end Cons: Exterior: The gazebo had been damaged in a storm, which happens, but there was no umbrella or covering to replace it. We had partially picked this house for that feature. The outdoor shower and irrigation system didn't work so the lawns were dried out. Due to the lack of moisture and uncured brush there was an incredible quantity of insects that made time outside less enjoyable. The pool didn't have a self-cleaning system and required maintenance by us to remove dead bugs, leaves, etc each day. Interior: The house is rustic and charming but in many areas incredibly dusty. The paint on the walls is chipping or damaged in some rooms. The mattresses and pillows were okay but not great.

Dear Julie we are sorry to learn that your holiday experience of our home did not live up to your expectations. We will make sure that the points you raise are rectified. It has been an exceptionally hot and dry summer and unfortunately the huge backup water tanks that sit under the lawn did not last to keep the grass irrigated. The pool is cleaned by our house manager 3 times a week but equipment is left for guests to use should it be necessary in between (i.e. after a storm). We hope you had a good holiday anyway.

séjour de rêve

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cette très belle maison très spacieuse et bien équipée.La piscine a été très appréciée des petits comme des grands. Nous avons trouvé à notre arrivée deux corbeilles de provisions, le réfrigérateur garni et la quantité nécessaire de serviettes de toilettes et des serviettes de piscine. Le service de changement de draps et de ménage a été effectué comme prévu par le couple de gérants sympathiques et serviables. La maison est isolée dans un contexte tranquille mais sa position permet de visiter de nombreux villes ou villages typiques. Bref, nous garderons un excellent souvenir de ces vacances, que nous avions choisi d'organiser loin des endroits surfréquentés, Covid 19 oblige.

Traumurlaub in traumhafter Umgebung

Das Ferienhaus liegt etwas abseits und sehr ruhig in der Nähe von Monterchi. Wir waren eine Woche mit 2 Familien dort. Es war ein sehr schöner Urlaub der allen Erwachsenen und auch den Kindern von 9 bis 17 Jahren sehr gefallen hat. Wir hätten die Woche auch gut und gerne nur im Haus und an dem großzügigen und sauberen Pool verbringen können, hatten aber im Vorfeld doch einige Ausflüge geplant. Das Haus ist liebevoll eingerichtet und mit allem ausgestattet, was einen einen Urlaub besonders macht. Es waren Bücher, Tischtennisplatte, Kicker und Spiele (in englisch) da. Arezzo und Florenz sind günstig zu erreichen. (Florenz ab Arezzo mit dem Zug in circa 1 Stunde). Ein Erlebnis ist der Besuch des kleinen Supermarktes in Monterchi oder auch des Wochenmarktes. Das Kochen in der riesigen gut eingerichteten Küche hat großen Spaß gemacht und das Ausklingen des Tages auf der Terrasse mit einem gigantischen Ausblick war ein Erlebnis. Wir würden gerne nächstes Jahr wieder kommen.

Truly sublime villa in the most amazing spot

We had two weeks in this fabulous villa and what an amazing place this was. Not sure how we managed to drag ourselves away from the vista down the valley or from the pool (which is where I spent most of my day). There was nothing missing from our time in the house - everything we could have needed or even thought of was provided. There was shade for my husband who behaves as if sunlight will melt him and a TV for the foot ball for my cousin as this was absolutely the most important thing. The family joined us for the second week along with our 15month old grandson who spent most of his time 'walking' up and down the steps as was his wont. There was ample space for us all to enjoy whatever area of the house and grounds suited us best and all the rooms were cool enough that we were able to sleep very well indeed. For me it was the unforeseen pleasure of watching the wildlife from the grand position of the upstairs loo window - hares, deer and many many birds including golden oriels which I have never seen before. At night we were serenaded by nightingales, also something I'd never heard till then. The walks around the house are not to be missed either as we also saw wild boar! So basically this was the perfect holiday in the perfect location - thank you.

Character property in quiet Tuscany

Situated on the border of Umbria and Tuscany. Although we experienced some minor issues the caretakers tried to assist as best as possible. The house is well equiped and easily caters for larger groups. We particularly enjoyed: Cortona Cita di Castello La Verna (spectacular in quiet time) and little restaurant at the top was great Anghiari Monterchi, restaurants (trattoria) and deli at top of village. Monterchi, just outside, restaurant la pieve vecchia was sensational (book in advance). Excellent waiter who replaced a slightly corked bottle of Chianti Reserva Classico on his own initiative. Top class. Thanks Harriet and James for sharing your place with us. Firenze is a 90min drive.

A wonderful place for a family holiday

A large, generously furnished house with everything a family could want. Gorgeous hilltop towns nearby to explore, a lovely valley and woodland at one's doorstep, amazing views, and to top it all a huge, spotlessly clean pool plus generous patio area in which to enjoy the perfect Tuscan evenings. Can't fault it.

Stunning house at calm and private location

Before booking this house, I desperately tried to find a mediocre or negative comment in the earlier reviews. After having spent 9 nights at the place, I now know why I had no success. Right on our arrival we (7 persons) learned that we had made a perfect choice by booking our holiday in this spacious house. Not only the large area around the house (table tennis, pool and a big garden which is suitable for sportive activities like badminton etc.) did overly satisfy our expectations, we also found the house to be in an excellent condition. Especially the well equipped kitchen (e.g. dishwasher, cooker, oven) and the overall cleanliness did contribute to our comfort. Since the property is so big, each of us could always decide to hang out with the group or find a private spot to relax. It was very easy and pleasant to get in touch with the owners to clear minor things up, but the service we benefited the most from was their house book. It is a clear description of the functionalities in the house and a helpful guide for activities and food shopping in the region. We definitely want to come back and can very well recommend this property!

Spacious house, stunning views, great pool

A sympathetically modernised old farm house located in a quiet valley growing sunflowers, maize and tobacco! Very well equipped and spacious. The house has four good sized bedrooms with more on the second floor stairs which we did not use. At the side of the house is a pleasant loggia terrace area with superb views overlooking the valley. The excellent pool is reached by steps down from the same terrace. Many hill top towns are within easy reach of the farmhouse. Our favourite was Aghiari where there was a music festival in full swing during our stay. We hired road bikes from BikingTeam in Arrezzo who were very friendly and cycled up to a few of the hill top towns, including Citerna, Monterchi and Aghiari as well as up to and around the reservoir Montedoglio. All in all a very pleasant week.
