Casa Mirage er en dejlig og indbydende villa med mange etager ved havet, der er fabelagtig beliggende på den uberørte hvide sandstrand i Playa Grande. Unikt beliggende uden sti at gå, vej til kryds eller grøn mur der blokerer havudsigten. Dette feriehus i middelhavsstil er smukt bygget af rige lokale hårdttræ, møbler er moderne, farverige, komfortable og mange tilpassede. Værelser på øverste niveau har uberørt udsigt til stranden, og værelser på lavere niveau åbner ud til en pulserende havehaven. Terrazzo-flisegulve flyder overalt i det indre og spilder ud over de rummelige verandaer med omhyggelig strandudsigt.

Great multifamily spring break

We had a great stay with two families for spring break. Property was good size for our group, well maintained, in an amazing location with backyard abutting the beach. Service throughout the week and excellent communication from the team. Loved it!

Exceeded all expectations!

We had 5 couples stay for 1 week. The pictures of the property do not do it justice. The house and grounds were in amazing condition. Any minor issues we had were taken care of immediately. Ania & Pica are amazing care givers keeping the house & grounds immaculate.impeccable.

A piece of paradise

The property was perfect! Designed well to be shared by multiple couples or family members. The kitchen is equipped with anything you made need to make coffee, meals, drinks, etc. The ac in the rooms work well and the beds were comfortable. The property was well maintained and we felt safe the whole trip. We would absolutely stay again!

Absolutely perfect

This house is amazing! Plenty of space for our group of 14! The beach is beautiful. Leanna, the house manager was so helpful - always in communication and was there any time we needed anything. Chef Kimberly cooked a wonderful dinner for us and had the kitchen stocked for our arrival. We loved everything about our experience at the Casa Mirage!!

Magical Vacation in Costa Rica

Everything about this house is perfect. Wonderful space for multiple generations to gather plus quiet bedrooms when sleep is needed. The ladies who take care of the house and cook are the best! We had three generations of family and everyone enjoyed this beautiful location and all of the amenities.

Heavenly Spot

We can’t say enough great things about our stay here, it was incredible! Beautiful beach right at the front yard, plung pool to cool down, spacious house for all the family, and loved all the staff that worked at the property as well as Leanne for fantastic communication. Good restaurants and night market down the road but overall a very chill area. Would highly recommend this place.

Casa Mirage - Perfect for our Crew

Thank you for having us at Casa Mirage. The location of the house, being right on the beach was amazing. The staff are lovely and there to assist with whatever you need. We had some meals cooked there and they were delicious. The property is well maintained and comfortable for our group. We loved being there. Playa Grande is such a quiet and magical place to be. Luxury and Comfort Costa Rican Style

Our group of 3 couples was totally excited and thrilled as we toured our home for the week! As trip planner, my husband and I were given the master bedroom, but all the bedrooms were lovely. We appreciated the staff that was there to ensure our comfort and security. No worries, just beauty and relaxation for the entire week!

Great Place to Stay in Playa Grande

We had a great stay at Casa Mirage. The travel from USA to LIR was easy. Everyone we encountered was so incredibly genuine with their hospitality and kindness. The house was great. The location was awesome. Tamarindo is nearby for hustle and bustle if you want it or just kick back and relax and this beautiful location. Epic surf everyday. Julie was a great host and answered all my questions promptly. We hope to come again soon.

Splendor in Costa Rica

We celebrated 3 graduates on our stay at Casa Mirage. Some were new to Costa Rica so it was fun to introduce them to such a wonderful slice of the world in a house so accommodating. Bedrooms were comfortable, kitchen spacious and efficient and best of all just steps away from the beach. We rented surf and boogie boards for the week. Some of our group took excursions snorkeling, canoeing and visiting a wildlife preserve. Several trips into Tamarindo rounded out the stay. It was lovely and we would not hesitate to stay there again.

MOST AMAZING HOME and LOCATION and STAFF

Our family just left yesterday from one of the best family vacations we have ever been on. And by far the best vrbo for families we have ever rented. The location was amazing. So private and secluded. The walks on the beach in the mornings and at sunset were incredible. The ease of having a baby at this home who could nap while the baby monitor reached outside and the big kids could be in the ocean boogie boarding was perfect. And there were a couple restaurants within walking distance! And the staff, oh my gosh they were incredible! Ania the housekeeper was so sweet and kept everything in perfect condition. My kids loved her too and she even gave them a small stuffed animal to say remember Costa Rica:)! And Elibet was so quick to send someone to fix a little problem with the mini split in our room. And Felix the night guard kept us feeling so safe as he watched the property. And then Kimberly came and cooked a couple meals for us which were outstanding!!! We can’t wait to return!!!

Fanatastic Casa and Location

Casa Mirage fit our needs for 10 people really well. The layout was perfect for the old adults and the young adults as far as sleeping arrangements with the bedrooms provided. The only problem we had was the 1st bedroom on the left as you entered the courtyard had a really bad cigarette and smoke odor. We had to air it out and spray it with air freshener every day so the party using it could sleep at night. Other than that it was an enjoyable experience. Thanks Tom Kaley

Thanks for everything. It was a great trip. We are already talking about coming back next year, maybe in March. Playa Grande has come a long way since we were last there, 2 years ago. We were able to alternate between Kike's, Rip Jack and the Sushi Bar, so we only went into Tamarindo once for dinner. Corynne was a great help. She essentially acts as a concierge and makes things infinitely more enjoyable. Also, the weather was the best of the three times we've been down. The only day it rained in Playa Grande was the day we went to Rincon de la Vieja, where the weather was good.

Paradise

Beautiful location, Property, and people. My family had the best time. The house is amazing. The location right on the beach was perfect. The people who cleaned, cooked, and watched over the house our amazing people. I actually forgot my family’s passports in the bedroom safe when I drove to the airport to fly home. In a panic I called Leeana to ask for help. She arranged for Kimberly, the cook, to retrieve the passports and drive them to the airport. We made it on the plain just before the doors closed. Leeana and Kimberly didn’t have to do this for my family after we had checked out of the house. But the did with a smile because they are wonderful people!! Hope life gives my the opportunity to return to this beautiful place again.

Literal paradise

Casa Mirage is literal paradise in Costa Rica. We stayed here with three families in total. The beach is pristine, waves are perfect every time of the day and it's so secluded and private. The bedrooms were nice and the en suite bathrooms made it so easy for a large group. We had Kimberly good every dinner and a few breakfasts while we were there and they were delicious. Highly recommend if you have kids or don't want to bother going out. The playa grande area is very very small. The super market is very tiny -- if you can stop near the airport at the bigger ones you'll find a larger variety for cheaper. If you're looking for nightlife this isn't for you. But if you want quiet like it seems you can't find anywhere in the world right now this is for you! Ania was so sweet cleaning up after us and gave us fresh beach towels in the morning. She even brought out a large bag of sand toys for the littles. We've been at beaches all over the world and it is so rare to find one where some can surf, the teens and other adults can boogie board and the little kids can safely jump in the waves. This was playa grande.

We (3 families) spent a wonderful week at Casa Mirage -- the perfect antedote to a hectic Washington, DC existence. The highlights: surfing, swimming, reading, sleeping. One day of golf near Playa Conchal (expensive at $175 a round). Two good tennis courts available in Tamarindo. Canapy Tours are a must in Cost Rica. The house is very comfortable and accommodates 13 nicely. Bring your own music (ipod and speakers) and your own games. No TV, thank goodness. The 5 mile walk along the beach to and from Tamrindo each day is all the exercise you need. We eat at the house almost every night, with the housekeeper, preparing dinner for 13 of us nightly. She did an admirable job with the local seafood. Enjoy the house and view, stay off the roads (which are horrendous), keep an eye on your valuables (petty thieves have been known to wander these parts), head up to Playa Conchal for lunch at the Happy Snapper. After dinner drinks at Rip Jacks (the end of the street). Very relaxing vacation. Our seven teenagers loved it... as did the 6 adults.

Location and relaxation

From the moment of booking this property and all throughout the stay, communication was clear and helpful. The property was in a fantastic location right on the beach, which was sandy with lots of shells and a rocky area to the right side with tide pools to explore. The waves were just big enough to boogie board and surf on but still manageable for kids to play in. We hired Kimberly to prepare breakfast each morning and I highly recommend that. We woke up to coffee already made, breakfast was ready when we wanted it, then all dishes cleaned afterwards. We had her prepare a few dinners as well. We were celebrating my husband’s 50th birthday, so we had a group of friends come down. There are 5 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and at least a queen size bed, so there was plenty of space. We hired a personal chef, Belly Fedbetter to make his birthday dinner and it was fantastic! You Are Costa Rica was recommended by the house for our excursions and Mariana was so helpful in making the trip run smoothly, even setting up appointments for the Covid tests we needed to go home. She also had boogie and surf boards at the house when we arrived. Not only was the house in a great location, clean, with comfortable beds, all the people who run the property made this a truly relaxing vacation.

Pleasant and relaxing vacation

Casa Mirage is a tranquil place to stay away from the chaos of nearby Tamarindo. We were a party of 8 including two children (11 and 12), who had a blast swimming at beach and swimming pool. We visited the next-door national park, explored the shore and played board games at the home. The house can easily accommodate 12 people in five bedrooms, two living rooms with couches and five bathrooms with showers. The house is an aging property but still in very good shape and looks just like the pictures. Leana, the property manager was super attentive and responsive to our questions and concerns. We experienced a few issues with the storms that passed by during the late afternoon and nights, she took care of it very quickly. I would recommend they fumigate more for ants, as we found several inside the property around the kitchen. Would also recommend they do not charge for borrowing/renting boogie boards and possible provide those, life jackets and beach toys for children for free with a refundable deposit. For foreign visitors traveling by airplane is difficult to bring stuff like that. I feel having those type of items available for guests at the property would enhance the experience, especially for families with teens and smaller children.

We are a family of 'water babies' raised on the beach shores of Santa Barbara, CA. (Of course the grand kids also have this ocean gene). Once my children (Julie, J.C, and Mark) became of an age when we could all travel my husband and I would take them during summer vacation on a surf safari to an exotic destination somewhere in the world. This was not only for fun, but to spend quality time with each other and expose them to different cultures and customs.

On a surfing safari to Costa Rica in '91 we instantly fell in love with the country, the kind and hospitable people, and the natural habitat. It was a paradise!! Long story short after returning to the States and raving to family and friends about this oasis a friend said he had the perfect property for our family in Playa Grande.

My husband, Jim, flew down a month later and purchased the property for me as my 50th B-Day present! Over the past 25 years both my family and friends lives have been significantly enhanced by the culture, the natural wonders that surrounds us and the 'Pura Vida' lifestyle. This means Pure Life, an expression of contentment, happiness, and satisfaction with ones life. It's this philosophy that ranks Costa Rica as one of the happiest places in the world!!

Traveling to the end of the road we found Playa Grande, a magical beach where for thousands of years the prehistoric leatherback turtles have come to nest and the ancient Chortega Indians performed ceremonies.

We decided to build a vacation home for our family as it is uniquely located oceanfront, with no path to walk, road to cross, or green wall blocking the view. We enjoy rolling out of bed and surfing out the backyard, scanning the trees for howler monkeys, sea shelling and exploring tide pools and gazing at the brilliant stars.

It's barefoot luxury, where your will find peacefulness, beauty, and the' Pura Vida' way of life.
