Angela, Since your stay Outer Banks Blue has moved to a standard bedding program for the majority of our properties. We always have provided clean sheets and made beds on guest arrival, but now comforters are no longer in place at our properties and we have a standard white bedding that is changed weekly on our beds. In other words it has the look of an upscale hotel upon check in. Let us know next time about slow drains while you are still here so we can correct that sort of thing right away. It has long since been corrected at this house. Glad you had a great time!

Stephanie, We regret that you used this forum to call attention to a violation of North Carolina Vacation Rental Act (law) which you and your group violated. The fact is we could bring legal charges against you for defrauding an innkeeper. The lease terms are very clear that we rent to family groups only with the leaseholder being at least 24 years of age and present at all times. This was not the case as you are aware there were 12 teenage girls occupying the house with no adults present. We believe it was never the intention of you to comply to the stated rules when you obtained this rental. The intention seems obvious to us that you intended from the start to deceive the property owner and you got caught. Had you brought this situation up in advance of the rental we would have politely declined the tenancy and this unfortunate situation would have not happened. That is the lesson to be learned here. The presence of these 12 unchaperoned teen girls attracted immediate attention of neighbors around the property. Calls ensued and the situation was quickly confirmed with a Ring doorbell camera which is very common place for vacation rentals and in no way inappropriate. There is no undisclosed security camera at this location or something nefarious going on as you suggest, and bringing this up as a warning to future renters is entirely missing the point. The fact is what you perpetuated here is very dangerous and illegal. The presence of unchaperoned teens using a property with no adults present brings inappropriate attention on the Outer Banks. Your offer to come and stay as one adult with 12 teens is far below any standard. We hope every tenant that wants to enjoy "beach week" for their high school children should know the OBX does not welcome you and Outer Banks Blue will agressively seek to remove you with the full backing of law on our side.
