Really lovely house and setting that worked well for our family gathering over Christmas. Ambient, warm and comfortable - we would highly recommend and would happily return.

We had an amazing friends Christmas weekend at the Oast. Joanna was a great host, excellent communication and she was kind enough to put up some Christmas decorations before we arrived so it was extra festive. The property and location is stunning and I can't recommend it enough!

New Years Eve Stay

The property was lovely, all bedrooms were of a good size and had a lovely open plan dinning/lounge area. The local area was beautiful with fantastic walks and a cosy local pub. Would definitely stay again.

Superb accommodation in an idyllic location

A perfect base for a three generation family holiday. The Oast was delightful and immediately felt like home. Tasteful décor and lovely open spaces with views of the valley. Plenty to do in the area and a great pub, The Red Lion, in the village.

Fabulous property

Gorgeous setting for our weekend gathering. Great to be able to use outdoor space and be comfortable indoors too. Bedrooms all generously sized. Location lovely!

Family 60th birthday weekend for 9 guests

Special long weekend for immediate family. Wonderful house with tons of character in a very rural location but only 15-20 mins from Rye, Hastings, Chapel Down winery and pubs galore

Family trip

The oast house is absolutely beautiful, the photos don’t do it justice. It is spotlessly clean and the view is incredible. I would highly recommend.

Country Retreat

We had a fabulous time relaxing at Hare Farm Oast. The property is immaculate and well maintained. Our hosts were very responsive and helpful, going above and beyond. I will definitely be back and would recommend the Oast to anyone interested in a quiet country farm house.

Wonderful property

A wonderful property, exactly as described, and with beautiful views. Very peaceful and private, and it worked very well for our extended family, particularly the large open plan space, and none of the bedrooms disappointing. We will be back!

The perfect place to celebrate our Ruby Wedding Anniversary with the family. Every bedroom was amazing, so no one was disappointed. The large lounge / dinner, with a central log burner, was ideal for a large family, with large windows and 3 doors out to the patio and garden, with lots of frolicking lambs and blossom. Modern additions to the original features were stylish and in keeping with the rustic but luxurious decor and furnishings. We expected a lovely place, but it exceeded expectations, with 'Wows!' From everyone as we explored. Spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The host communcated well and we'd highly recommend this to everyone. There were 8 of us, but it could easily accommodate 10. Easy reach to Rye, Battle and Hastings. No reservations about recommending this to large groups. We all wish we'd stayed longer.

A building with 6 round rooms. Wow!

A sensitive restoration of a beautiful oast house. The roundel rooms were wonderful (even have curved radiators). So well looked after, every detail taken care of. And the views, oh my. They were endless, and not an ugly landmark in sight. Just rolling valleys and fluffy white sheep.

Simply the best

Our multi-generation party, aged from 2-81 is quite hard to accommodate but over the years we've found some great UK holiday lets. The Oast is by far our favourite and the highest standard we've found. It's a beautiful building, really comfortable and well-equipped (great kitchen, brilliant showers). The enclosed garden has a wonderful view, with sheep. The owners are close by for any problems or queries and were friendly and helpful but never intrusive. We didn't know the area and that was a nice surprise too, with some good walks directly from the house and Rye on the doorstep.

Lovely Relaxing Weekend

Property worked well for a large family group of 10. Bedding was lovely and we had good communication with owner and their family who live next door who were on hand to help with any issues. There was a great outdoor space where we had family games. If we were to make any suggestions it would be for an extra 2 garden chairs to save bringing out indoor ones and the small sofa bed to be replaced as it was very uncomfortable for sitting on. But otherwise all good thank you 😊

30th Birthday celebrations

Just returned after a long weekend celebrating our daughter’s 30th birthday. We were a party of 9 adults and 3 small children. The house was cosy and plenty big enough for us all. Happily stay there again, although we had to be super vigilant at all times as our grandson is only a year old and already walking, so the stairs and the fireplace were very hazardous to him. I would definitely recommend with older children. We were shown around the lambing sheds by Annie and saw some lambs being born. A visit to the Red Lion is a must. All in all a great time, Joanna was very helpful in the run up to our stay and during.

An amazing house in a great location.

We had a wonderful week's holiday staying at the oast house at Hare Farm. As soon as we set foot in the property, we knew we were going to enjoy our time there. It is spacious, airy ,funished to a very high standard and of course, a very historically interesting building. Everything that we needed had been provided for and we looked forward to coming back to it every day. The bedrooms were all comfortable, the seating area downstairs was an extremely relaxing place to unwind and the kitchen had every amenity required. The high point for us all however, was the setting. The views from the back of the house were wonderful. We could watch the mist over the fields in the early morning, an owl flying across the valley in the evening, the sheep grazing at any time of day - there was always something to enjoy and appreciate. The rear patio was the perfect place to sit and while away the time and there was also plenty of space for the children to play while others relaxed. When not enjoying being at the house, there is a wide variety of things to do and places to see in the area so it provided a great base for exploring. Returning home however down the country lanes to the farm was always a lovely way to end the day. Our hosts at the farm were incredibly helpful and welcoming. The basket of goodies that greeted us on arrival had been thoughtfully prepared and was much appreciated as were other special touches such as vases of fresh flowers and high quality toiletries in the bathrooms. To sum up, we all felt that this property had everything that we could have hoped for in a holiday venue. We felt we were somewhere special, we found we were able to relax immediately, we were extremely comfortable and we knew straight away that we were going to have a great stay.
