Another great stay. We love the space and quiet tranquility of the area. It’s a real family favorite. We only really used the kitchen for breakfast. We packed lunches and headed off for the day. If you’re traveling in high summer with kids I would recommend trauma beach. It has lifeguards on duty and is very close by. Also the bar Mary Ann’s across the road is excellent and no brainer for dinner after a day exploring!

The rental was perfect for our needs. Spacious bedrooms and living room/dining area. Kitchen was galley style and had everything you'd need. Nice modern bathroom.1 parking space included is great too. Parking could be a difficult as we needed to pass through a tight archway on a steep hill. Glad we had an automatic for this. Still very doable by a competent manual driver though. Highly recommendedWould also recommend the pub across the street. Great staff and food

The place was absolutely a gem! Breathtaking and warm. The communication by texting was great, considering I couldn't call by phone. Exactly as we thought it would be for the structure. The restaurant across the street was great and the ambiance. The entire village was interesting and quite a lot of scenery to drive to. I recommend this place.

We had a lovely stay, visiting family in the area and the first time we had needed to rent a place. The Cottage was perfect for us. It is spacious and charming and has everything you could need. The place was spotless and though we didn't get to meet our housekeeper, she was in touch and the place was all ready and warm for us. I wouldn't hesitate to book this property again. Thank you.

Loved the authenticity of the place and the pub across the street. All routes leading here are scenic but of course N roads are quicker.

The cottage was lovely and clean and just what we expected. Close to a larger villiage for shopping. The lovely housekeeper checked in on us to make sure we were comfortable. Was just a lovely few days in beautiful countryside.

Lovely time in Castletownshend!

The cottage is beautiful, quiet and well-maintained. Anne, the person who keeps it ready for guests, is lovely and responsive. The village itself is wonderful and there was a pub across the street that had some of the best food we had in all of Ireland! We highly recommend this place to stay!

Located in a quiet quaint village on the edge of the water, this was a great place to stay for touring around the West Cork area. Having the entire place to ourselves was a treat, as it literally was a home away from home. Its old world charm made you feel like you have gone back in time. There was a pub across the street and a small store right up the road. What more could you want !

A small piece of real Ireland in an old fishing village.Full of Character and is very warm and cosy on the cold February nights. We've been coming here for the last 4 years, and have never been disappointed. The Mary Ann's restaurant is right opposite, the food ( & Guinness ) is excellent.Castletownshend is 10mins off the main road but is well worth the drive ; also means is is pretty quiet place to stay. Kate & Anne are ,very very Helpful Hosts.Even to the Point of posting me , my dirty washing that i left behind this year. ( now that is sevice )!Hope this helps you make up your mind to stay in one of most beautiful parts of Ireland and enjoy the views.Charlie

Blessed with the weather

This was our second stay here this gorgeous cosy cottage and we had another amazing time. We got fantastic weather for May and we spent our days on the beach and driving around the area taking in all the beautiful scenery along the way. We ate in Mary Anne’s across the road each evening the food is amazing and took a stroll to the harbor every evening. Our girls are looking forward to coming back to lovely little hamlet.
