Cannot say enough wonderful things about Villa Dora! We stayed here for two nights following a week (small boat) cruise. It is a lovely home with a beautiful, large and peaceful garden. It sits on the top of the hill amongst the trees, but you can peak through to the Adriatic. The home is beautifully furnished and well-stocked. The bonuses are the kitties and tortoises in the garden! The location was an easy walk to restaurants and beaches. Marina is a lovely host and was always prompt in answering any of my questions! My only regret is we should have stayed longer!

Awesome host and stay

Marina was fantastic. Picked us up at the airport (two trips) and we hired her to tour us thru Dubrovnik. Place was very clean and we enjoyed the garden. Highly recommend

Amazing

Marina is a wonderful host and the property is perfectly located in beautiful Cavtat. Great access to water and restaurants. Marina helped with excursions which made it easy. There was plenty of room and relaxing time in the courtyard. Highly recommended.

Was awesome to stay in Cavtat at this lovely home!

This property was very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped bedding was good with lots of extra blankets. We even did our laundry there!!Close to the sea and many interesting restaurants and shopping. The property is in a very nice location and Marina was very accommodating. The only drawback was the wifi was not strong and had to do our communication in the bedroom close to the router. Other than that a wonderful stay!!

Wonderful, magical Croatia

Perfect, this was a perfect place. This apartment itself is beautifully designed and decorated. Very functional with many, lovely details. Comfortable beds and sitting room furniture and several eating areas. Good, well equipped kitchen, immaculate bathrooms (great tile design), laundry room and machine worked great. We watched as pomegranates and lemons ripened on the trees in our.private yard. We met the turtles and the cats. House is nestled in the trees a bit above and away from any noise. Over coffee, our hostess offered many suggestions about the area to enhance our first visit to Croatia, including a tour of nearby Dubrovnik! Several paths through the hillside houses or along the seaside lead down to the Oceanside town of Cavtat. Four star restaurants on the small waterfront, friendly people and really amazing sunsets. I cannot praise our hostess enough, her knowledge of the area and culture enhanced our stay and her friendly response to questions and requests were welcoming more than any other host we have met. I could go on and on. Special people and place. I highly recommend!

Beautiful town and great villa

Cavtat is very pretty. Not spoilt by noisy bars or gaudy lights and incredibly clean. Yachts along the waterfront are right at the restaurants which is lovely so no matter where you eat , you have a great view and can people watch. The villa is not far from the waterfront but enough to be peaceful and relaxing. The outside facilities are great if you want to take advantage of the weather and eat alfresco, we did this on numerous occasions and loved the tranquility. The villa is well equipped with everything you could need for a stay. Marina was a great host and gave us lots of local knowledge so we could make the most of the area. Wifi could be better as you can only get it in some parts if the villa but it did not stop our enjoyment of the accommodation. I would definitely come back to Cavtat. It is so picturesque , you can do lots of lovely walks, can get to Dubrovnik easily and are 45 mins from Montenegro. If you want to relax but still be close enough to sightseeing then this is your place. You will not be disappointed. If there was 4 of us again , I would stay in the same villa. Thank you Marina.

Large and comfortable apartment set in a very peaceful walled garden with outside seating and dining areas. Only a short (steep) downhill walk to the beaches and promenade with many good restaurants to choose from. There are a couple of the owners’ friendly cats in the garden and a few small tortoises wandering about, which our children loved. There is occasional noise from planes approaching the airport but this applies to all of Cavtat and didn’t bother us at all. The apartment is very well equipped and modern throughout. Marina and her family were friendly, helpful and generous hosts. We would absolutely love to return to this apartment many times in the future and we genuinely recommend it very highly.

Ideal for an Extended Stay in the Area

Marina is a wonderful hostess! She went out of her way to help us (two couples traveling together) get to the villa. (The cruise ship line arranged for a driver who dropped us off in the wrong place!) Both she and her husband were very helpful with property details; as well as Marina is a wealth of knowledge about the area. A big thank you to the driver she arranged for us to get to the city center and also to the airport when we departed; Juro was helpful, prompt and so kind. The property itself is peaceful, modern and welcoming. You do have a bit of a hill to climb with your luggage; however, it's very doable (our group average age was 57). Cavtat is quaint, relaxing and a nice change of pace from the days when the big cruise ships are in Dubrovnik. We found the most inexpensive way to get to Dubrovnik was via the water taxis. Be aware that the last water taxi departs Dubrovnik around 6pm local time. Cavtat has plenty of nice places for dinner or the villa's kitchen could be used for cooking a meal.

Great apartment and location

Apartment was very well appointed and host Marina extremely helpful. Large and spacious and very private location. We ate out most days as the choice of restaurants was great. Cavtat is a beautiful small town/harbour with easy walks for those that wish it.

Quiet and beautiful

House was lovely. Such a great outside area with amazing views. Cavtat is a great place and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Marina was a great host who looked after us so well. One small matter if you have any walking difficulties this is not the place to go. House is reached by a steep cobbled hill in one direction and 78 steps in the other.

Large, clean, airy apartment by the beach

The apartment and the owner are both wonderful. We travelled with children 5 and 4 yrs who loved it. Indoors the apartment is clean and airy with great air conditioning and 2 ensuites and a further cloakroom with washing machine etc. the kitchen is large and open plan with a dishwasher. The outdoor spaces are great and the kids loved playing with the tortoises. Everything is within a few minutes walk- it was so easy we ate out every night and visited 2 different beaches a day ( before and after our siestas!). The sea is clear and calm and so safe for kids and plenty of crabs and fishes to be caught (bring some swim shoes). Cavtat is a beautiful place with everything you need, the harbour is very pretty and plenty of scope for excursions if you want to explore (we were very happy to stay put) you don't need a car and marina kindly collected us from the airport. Great holiday.

A slice of paradise

I've stayed in Cavtat before but this time I wanted my parents to experience the finest small harbour in Croatia (in my humble opinion).Marinas villa and family only added to the whole experience. Marina picked us up from the airport and on the way into Cavtat pointed out landmarks and restaurants and places to visit.The villa was a little haven of tranquillity with lovely gardens and our own collection of wild tortoises and Marinas cats.Sea views and minutes away from the bars and restaurants and beaches.Tried to book again for September but booked up.We will be back.

Beautiful Villa

Phenomenal! Cavtat is such a fantastic buzzing place and located perfectly for visiting wonderful Dubrovnik and beautiful islands like Lokrum (wow factors for the restaurant in the centre and dead pool!) and Lopud (what a stunning beach!). We spent a week at the gorgeous Villa Dora which is hard to believe is only an easy 5 minute walk into the centre of Cavtat because it's set in the most beautiful and peaceful location (sea and woodland views from the terrace). The villa is immaculately presented by owner Marina who went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic stay. Marina even collected myself, my wife and our 4 year old son at the airport and then gave us some fantastic recommendations for places to visit. We loved our holiday and highly recommend this villa! Thanks so much Marina for a phenomenal holiday.

Wonderful most amazing place to stay!

This beautiful, immaculate, spacious apartment is in a stunning, peaceful and beautiful location. Your stay will be enhanced by Marina, the owner who was always lovely, incredibly helpful and simply delightful. Waking up only to the sounds of birds, with a view over the beautiful bay was a delight. You can breakfast on the terrace at the front in the shade, or in the sun in the rear garden. Sharing your stay with the many birds, and turtles, surrounded by wonderful greenery and gardens. The beach is only a short skip and a hop away, not crowded, with a restaurant for all your needs. A couple of minutes in the opposite direction takes you to the wonderful harbour of Cavtat, where you can take wonderful boat trips to the various Islands, or the beautiful Dubrovnik, or even other countries. You can eat at the various restaurants looking out over the harbour, watching the sun setting or the various yachts that moor there. Be sure to have an Ice cream or two (or several as I did), from a host of flavours. The people are lovely, the food scrumptious. Cavtat for us was perfect, we loved its gentleness, it's peace, and the lack of cars!!!! We had an idyllic holiday here, and cannot recommend it highly enough, the location is perfect, the apartment is stunning, and your host Marina is delightful. For sure we will be back. If you've already booked to stay here - lucky you. If your considering it, then book it now, before someone beats you too it. Marina, thank you for enabling us to have a wonderful amazing holiday. We most certainly will be back. I have already expressed my wish to stay for the whole of next summer, if only I can drum up enough friends and family to make it a possibility.

One of the best holidays we have ever had

Two things I would like to talk about : villa itself and its wonderful owners. When I was looking for our holiday destination I had a vague idea of what I wanted it to be. We wanted something in a small quite but pretty little town or village, with beautiful nature and nice beaches. We needed a big enough place for 5 people one of whom was a 10 months old. When I came across villa Dora, I knew this was it! It was everything that we wanted and more! Very comfortable home like feeling for two weeks only with beautiful sea at your doorstep! The host and the owner, Marina is a wonderful lady who was very helpful, she organised everything beautifully. If we ever needed anything she would be there to help us. And a bonus is that she is also a tour guide for the area so she gave us lots of tips of places to go. For the baby the house was perfect with cats and turtles and vast green area in front of the house. I would definitely come back!

Beautiful Cavtat

Our family of 5 had a wonderful holiday in Villa Dora at the end of June. The property was bigger than it looks in the photos and spotlessly clean with everything you could wish for. Marina was a wonderful, warm, helpful host and all the people of Cavtat were very welcoming. The quiet shady location just a minutes walk from the beach was perfect and I think we could have spent many more weeks wandering up and down that path going between the sea, the iced cream stand and the all day cafe/bar perched on the rocks just next to the beach. We hope to come back very soon.

A relaxing holiday

The property description was completely accurate with regard to location layout and facilities. Very well maintained and clean. The owner could not have been more helpful and a very delightful person and extremely knowledgeable of the area. The property is in a very quiet green part of Cavtat away from the harbour but easily accessible. Our party consisted of 2 retired but active couples and this property was perfect for chilling out. There are some delightful easy walks to be had around the peninsular from the property. We ate out at some delightful restaurants along the waterfront and the food was good and very reasonable. This made the holiday. Easy access to the boats for trips to Dubrovnik and other islands. Hopefully we will visit again next year. It was a perfect holiday.
