Delighted you had a good stay and enjoyed some of the local attractions in the beautiful peak district national park. I am so sorry for your disapointment, the cottage has never had a hot tub and I will ensure the error is swiftly rectified.

Delighted you had a good stay. One of the benefits of the cottage is the small free car park just behind it, and the lack of parking restrictions in the village. Local people are friendly and helpful and yes the views from the terrace are stunning! Would be a pleasure to welcome you again in the future.

Thank you for your kind review Kate and I am delighted you have no complaints! I confirm a tumble drier is not offered at the cottage but there is a washing line in the garden. Tideswell is the second largest village in the National Park and was listed in the doomsday book 1086. The 5 minute stroll to the centre is a pleasant walk through winding streets of old stone cottages, and well worth while both for the good range of local shops, pubs and tearooms and to visit the 14C Church of St John known as The Cathedral of the peak - a treat not to be missed.

It was of course disappointing to receive this review from our German guests and I thank them for taking the time to comment. Any feedback is useful as it enables checks and improvements to be made. The issues raised have been carefully investigated and videos have been taken which are available from me to view. In any home goods and furnishings range from new to becoming ready for replacement and we carefully monitor this. The sofas and carpets while not new are regularly cleaned and are and certainly not worn out . The table lamps were found to be in full working order as were other cottage light fittings and the spare light bulbs left for guest use were still in place. The main bathroom door was difficult to close from the inside as the top hinge had worked loose, this has been swiftly repaired. All bedroom doors were found to be fully functional. Problems with the water pressure in the bathrooms were cited, suggesting if a shower was in use, water would not flow in the other bathroom. This was tested and videoed and was found not to be the case. A shower was left running in the en suite, and in the main bathroom water came out of the basin and bath taps and the shower above the bath. We will keep an eye on this but on this testing there was no issue. The comment that there were just one small pan and no large pot in the kitchen was just wrong. The kitchen units are very well equipped with cutlery , crockery, cooking pans, utensils and glassware, again the contents were videoed for reference . Specifically there are 4 nesting saucepans, 2 frying pans and many casseroles, oven dishes and bakeware items of varying sizes suitable for 6 people to cook main meals. It is a self catering cottage so foodstuffs are not supplied. I was pleased the beds and linen were positively highlighted. Good quality cotton linens and towels are supplied. The recent redecoration was also pleasantly noted. There’s a garden to the rear of the cottage which is private backing on to a green lane with small play area, free car park and open field beyond. It is securely hedged and gated, a perfect place to sit quietly on the wooden bench and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the area. The spacious front terrace has truly spectacular views over the dale and boasts a lovely outdoor dining and sitting area. The cottage is one of 4 with a shared access. Butterfield cottage has been let for holidays since 1998 and we are kept busy welcoming guests all year round. All pictu
