Lighthouse View i Southwold er et behageligt og indbydende sommerhus med plads til fire personer i to soveværelser. Dette tidlige viktorianske sommerhus ligger ved St. James 'Green i hjertet af denne attraktive kystby. Fra hoveddøren er det kun meter til promenaden og havet.

Lighthouse View tilbyder ikke kun en fremragende ferielokalitet, men Southwolds vartegn fyrtårn ligger lige over muren i hyttens bageste gårdhave. Den fuldt operationelle fyr er tilgængelig fra nærliggende Stradbroke Road og er åben på bestemte datoer for besøgende at klatre op til toppen for at nyde den vidunderlige udsigt. Børn (og måske voksne) vil blive betaget af den blide rotation af lysene fra fyret om aftenen.

Der er fri parkering i nærområdet. Faktisk kan du parkere din bil ved ankomst og ikke bruge den igen under hele dit ophold.

Ejere Russ og Sue deler gerne deres dejlige sommerhus med feriegæster, der ville elske at opleve denne vidunderlige beliggenhed i den charmerende by Southwold. Børn over 4 år er velkomne, ligesom en velopdragen hund.

Location was absolutely perfect, we have been visiting southwold for years and it was so lovely to be so close to the beach and shops.We felt the cottage was slightly dated, it could benift from new sofas, one in particular wasn't very comfortable. Bed sheets, towels and bathroom was very clean but we felt the rest of the house needed a bit of an extra clean, there was a thick layer of dust on the bed frame, skirting boards and under the beds, also a build up of dirt on top of the washing machine, had there been a little more attention to detail with the cleaning it would have made it a perfect stay.

Hi Diane, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback, it is appreciated. We take all guests comments seriously and I am so sorry you found the cottage a little dated. We have deliberately tried to retain its original character whilst adding modern touches such as the electric fire and stand in shower unit. We have also incurred significant expense in the last year or so ensuring that it meets all the latest fire risk regulations. It was also painted on the outside just prior to your arrival. We have to date nearly always received positive comments for the cleanliness of the cottage so I was surprised to receive your feedback here, but will address this. We do replace our sofa’s periodically and they are due a further refresh in the next 12–24 months. We also take steps to try and improve the cottage as each year passes. I do hope we can entice you back in future and thank you once again for choosing to stay at Lighthouse View. All the very best, Russ

Great cosy cottage in excellent location.

Lovely cosy cottage just steps away from the beach and close to a nice pub and the Adnams brewery. The bath in the main bedroom is a nice touch.

Fantastic cottage and location

Alot of love has gone into this cottage and it is a home from home .Great location in the centre of Southwold right in front of the lighthouse. Its quaint with a modern shower and bath .Great beds and towells .Spotlessly clean and well equipped with a lovely small courtyard which was great for our dog .We would definitely stay here again .

Great cottage in a fab location

Comfortable and cosy cottage in the heart of Southwold. A few steps away from great pubs, Adnams brewery and excellent independent food shops. Lots of great walking from the doorstep and further afield along the coast. Great communication from the host. Highly recommended.

Just what we wanted

Perfect little cottage in the middle of Southwold. Everything on our doorstep so easy to nip in and out as we wished. Our dog loved it too, short stroll to the beach for zoomies 😄. Would definitely consider staying here again for a relaxing break.

Perfect location

Great location and lovely for dog walking on beach (September- April). V small house but warm. Stairs v narrow & bathroom small, but everything you need. Good communication with Russell.

A wonderful stay at Lighthouse View

We really enjoyed our time at Lighthouse View. Russ was fantastic to deal with and very responsive. The lovely cottage was exactly as appears in the photos. The location was perfect - Sole Bay Inn 15 steps away with the sea view as you step out the door and a very close walk. Central location to all the interesting things to see and do. Be mindful of the steep stairs to the bed and bath if you have mobility issues. Would highly recommend.

Lovely long weekend

We really enjoyed our long weekend in Lighthouse View cottage in Southwold. The cottage is perfectly situated for the town and for the beach. The cottage has everything you would need. We would not hesitate to book it again for future visits to our favourite corner of England. We did a tour of the Adnams Brewery which is only a two minute walk away. We also visited Snape and went to a performance at the Maltings.

Fantastic Bolthole!!

Really quaint cottage,very cosy,very well equipped....Could not fault it.....Just idyllic for us.Location to Seafront & beach ...mins away,shops&cafes nearby.....Ease of booking and communication from hosts was very professional...I guess yes the stairs are steep so good to be aware if limited mobility or issues of this nature,otherwise just 'Perfect'.

Relaxing

Super in every repect. Stayed here for several years now. Always one word of warning for the elderly and infirm, the we stairs are very steep. Care is needed. Other than that, superb. I think I'll be going for a few years yet, hopefull. Always take some warm clothing !!

Beautiful location

We had a day in Southwold a couple of years previous and wanted to come back for longer. This cottage was perfect! only a short walk from the beach and the town centre. We really couldnt ask for any more. Only negative (If any) is the fight for a parking spot. But worst case, there's always parking available on the front withour restrictions. So its a case of park there and wait for the opportunity to move your car closer later on. But all in all, one of the most relaxing holidays we've ever had. We will be back

Great

Wonderful little cottage BUT be warned.....exceedingly steep stairs. We are ok with these at present although there will come a time when we can not manage them! Incredible state of the art tech. such as TV. Shower. Internet. heating systems etc.

Escapeism

Easy straight- forward procedure. Fantastic cottage in wonderful Southwold. One observation directed at not so "firm" folk. The stairs, as to be expected, are steep and a bit tricky. Another well placed grab rail would help. Having said that, despite having had THREE knee replacements, I managed fine! Highly recommend this sympathetically renovated quintisencial Southwold delight.

All was good with the cottage and our host. Our break was badly let down with communication with VBRO. We contacted them 3 times regarding an issue with the TVand received replies saying ‘sorry something went wrong at our end’ . This is not good enough and makes me reluctant to use VBRO in the future. After much dreaming of owning a holiday home by the sea we finally made our dream a reality when we bought Lighthouse View in October 2013!

Our whole family fell in love with the property as soon as we set foot in it - it just felt right! Our children were also mesmerised by the views of the iconic lighthouse from the rear bedroom which they have claimed!





Derfor er dette overnatningssted unikt

Lighthouse View is ideally located close to the beach with it's famous coloured beach huts being a stones throw away, our favourite pub - The Sole Bay Inn being a few doors away and the town being a mere two to three minute walk away.

Not only does Lighthouse View offer an excellent holiday location but Southwold's landmark lighthouse stands just over the wall of the cottage's rear courtyard. The fully-operational lighthouse is accessed from nearby Stradbroke Road and is open on certain dates for visitors to climb up to the top to enjoy the wonderful views. Children (and the young at heart) will be captivated by the gentle rotation of the lights from the lighthouse in the evening.
