Beautiful finca in a quiet location

We loved the peaceful location and the heated pool. The choice of seating areas inside and outside is amazing. And the bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable (we didn't use the other 2 bedrooms so cannot comment). The sitting area at the back, by the pool, is nice and sheltered and great for bird watching. We loved our stay and will definitely come back.

A peaceful beautiful house

Our second time at this lovely property. Hilbrand makes us so welcome and has advice on great walking on the island. The house has amazing views and is very clean and spacious. There are so many different seating areas and we love the heated pool / BBQ garden. We will be returning again next year. Highly recommend.

Quiet Private Setting

The house is clean, spacious, and comfortable with a great view looking toward the ocean. In particular, we enjoyed the warm private pool and lovely adjoining patio. The internet is reliable and quick enough to stream music. Definitely, this is a winner property!

Beautiful house

A beautiful and spacious house set in spectacular surroundings. Our family had a lovely stay. The kitchen has everything needed to cook but also the village of Arrieta is only a ten minute drive away for cafe and restaurants. The house has an abundance of different outside spaces including a small pool which was fine for all 3 of our children to play in at the same time.

Peaceful bliss!

The Finca was beautiful. Quiet and isolated with lots of spaces to sit out of the changeable Lanzarote breeze! So much wildlife to watch, lots of birds lizards and geckos. We enjoyed the pool which was lovely and warm and cooking was a breeze in the well equipped kitchen. The hosts communication was brilliant including directions to the Finca with helpful pictures. The beds were a little on the soft side for our taste but otherwise, perfect! Would highly recommend this place and would definitely return. Thank you

A wonderful escape

Such a beautiful house in a remote, but not too remote setting. (everything in Lanzarote is a short drive from everything, but you do need a car). Make sure to get up and see the sun rise down the valley over the ocean. Well worth the early morning. The pool is perfect, lovely and warm. The house is spacious and has everything you need. And Hillbrand is a charm, a great host full of information and super friendly.

Finca Chafaris

Beautiful Finca an I quiet idillic location, great if you want to get away from the crowds and enjoy some peace and quiet. Hilbrand has thought of everything you might need for your stay and there was nothing missing from the villa that could have made my stay any more enjoyable. Particularly enjoyed cooking on the BBQ and a refreshing dip in the pool. Was also lovely to meet Hilbrand who welcomed me into the property and ran through a few key points before leaving me in peace for the remainder of my stay. Also thank you for the hiking recommendations Hilbrand and hopefully I will return again in the future

FANTASTIC

A really fabulous house with lots of character and homely feel. Beautiful grounds with amaaazing views all around. The pool was lovely much bigger than it looks in the photos. Pool is heated so very pleasant to swim. The area very safe if you traveling alone nothing to be scared of the house has everything you need and more! There is nice coffee machine but buy tassimo flat coffee capsules at one of the bigger Dino stores closer to the airport as you can’t buy it in the North of island. Found some but it’s the powder one with milk powder which is too synthetic for me. The house is in the north of the island but the north is dooo much more beautiful in my opinion. Also lots of stores near by for good and anything basic you need. Stunning beaches near the house! The owner met me in the house and was super nice with loads of recommendations. They also left nice welcome gifts. Especially I appreciated fantastic red wine which was nice to have after the trip Absolutely loved my stay and would return again!

We loved our stay at this remote villa.

We had a lovely one week stay at Hilbrands' villa/finca during August. We were fortunate that there'd been a cancellation so we booked Thursday and stayed the following Monday. After the initial trepidation driving up the long unlit gravel road we were pleased when we arrived there. It's in a remote location however we found that our children (6, 9, 12) could make as much noise as they wanted whilst in the swimming pool (where they spent most of their time!) without disturbing the neighbours as there aren't any!! As mentioned by other reviewers the water temperature in the pool was sooooo warm which was such a nice change having visited other hotels and villas in the Canaries where the water had been so cold the kids wouldn't even dip their feet in! So many home comforts in the villa that we didn't need to travel too far except to the local beach and on several occasions we drove to Costa Teguise which is a 15 min drive away. There's no fans or air-con however we soon got used to the heat and there are 2 windows with mosquito nets attached that we were able to keep open during the night. It's very peaceful except for the sound of the wildlife! Unfortunately mosquitos can still enter the villa during the day when all doors and windows are open so on our last night we were all 'bit to shreds' by mosquitos, we though my daughter had chicken pox!! Take plenty of repellant. The owner Hilbrand lived not too far away and he was happy to give us help and advice when called upon. Overall we had a lovely holiday with so many happy memories and I'm sure we'll return in the not too distant future. The Fox Family, Doncaster, UK

The mosquito problem has been solved. Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear that there where so many mosquitoes, this is quite unusual as there is no standing water in the vicinity. We have been investigating and have found a lid missing on the suppletion tank of the garden irrigation system which of course offered a perfect breeding ground for mosquitoes. This has now been repaired, the problem is now solved and we have had no more complaints. The weather in southern Europe has been extraordinary hot this summer and although on the Canary Islands the trade winds usually provide a fresh breeze al through the summer, when the wind drops at night it can stay quite warm. We have now installed ventilators to cool of the bedrooms at night. It is also advisable to keep the living room doors closed in the daytime to keep the heat out. This room is so big and it's cealing so high that it is not much affected by the heat.

Just book and be quick!

Of all the rural 3 BR villas the Finca Chafariz was by far the most appealing one to us, and it's absolutely no wonder Hilbrand only gets glowing 5-star reviews. All reviews are spot on the house and hospitality. In our case we were looking for a secluded retreat for song-writing, to avoid any distractions and fully concentrate on the music. We couldn't have wished for a better place. We loved the absolute peace, the Spanish farm style, the beautiful views, all far away from anything touristy and yet every amenity around the corner and the beauty of Lanzarote all within an hour car drive. The house and garden feature so many nice rooms, terraces and sitting areas, that you can move with the sun/shadow and also enjoy some privacy when having to work as we did or eg. children being able to sleep while the parents still BBQ'ing. For us four the house was extremely spacious, and even 6 people would find ample room. The beds were wonderful, even the sofas are super comfy to take a nap on. Internet connection is good, pool is solar-heated and depends on the weather obviously, so don't expect 29 °C in early January, but still hopped in a few times after sunbathing and enjoyed it :) The garden is a botanical sensation, with so many different birds and lizards buzzing around - lots of things to discover and watch while sunbathing or brunching away. Certainly a paradise for kids and nature lovers. Good walks around the house and up the hills too. Hilbrand was a wonderful host. Extremely accommodating and always there to help or recommend the best restaurants, travel routes and (surfer) beaches. He even lent us his guitar so that we didn't have to pay extra on our flights. He also amazed us with a wealth of knowledge about ancient and modern Lanzarote. For us the point of travelling is getting to know new cultures, and this is a perfect place for it.

I wish you lots of succes and hope to see you again soon to come and work on nr.4. The pool is still a bit of a snag although in december we tripled the amount of solarpanels, the system still needs an extra boost in winter, especially when it has been cloudy. Definitly something to sort out for the coming winter when you want the pool to be warm instead of for cooling of.

Wundervolles Anwesen mit traumhaften Blick abseits der Touristenpfade. Das Haus hat alles was man benötigt und befindet sich trotz Abgeschiedenheit in komfortabler Reichweite von Restaurants, Supermärkte und Strände. Für Naturliebhaber ein Traum. Hier kann man sich mit Freunden oder Familie zurückziehen ohne auf Komfort zu verzichten. Die Straße dahin ist etwas schwierig. Die Anfahrt ist es allerdings wert. Hervorheben möchte ich auch noch die hervorragende Begleitung durch Cindy über WhatsApp. Sie hat uns viele hilfreiche Tipps gegeben, über Flugstreiks informiert und war ausgesprochen freundlich und erreichbar.

Enocre mieux que sur l'annonce !

Outre le fait que Lanzarote est une île exceptionnelle qui mérite qu'on y passe du temps pour en découvrir toutes les merveilles, cette maison est extraordinaire, à condition bien sûr d'apprécier le silence et le calme, voire l'isolement. Elle est spacieuse et bien équipée, avec plusieurs pièces où se poser. Les chambres sont tout à fait confortables, de même que les salles de bain. L'extérieur est assez ahurissant et mérite le kilomètre de chemin à faire (facilement en voiture) pour y arriver : une vue spectaculaire sur Arrieta, sur l'océan et sur la montagne, un jardin fabuleux avec de nombreux recoins où se mettre à l'abri du vent et la piscine chauffée qui est un vrai plus ! Et un emplacement parfait pour partir à la découverte de l'île. Merci à Kate et Cindy pour leur bienveillance

Schöne und ruhige Lage

Die Finca ist schön in einem Tal eingebettet mit Aussicht auf das Meer. Ein Auto ist notwendig, den Läden, Restaurants und Bushaltestelle sind doch 3 bis 5 km vom Haus entfernt. Wir danken vielmals den Hausbesitzer, der, bei allen kleinen technischen Problemen die wir mit dem Solarstrohm und der Solarheizung hatten, sofort abhilfe leisten konnte.

Ruhe pur

Mega Lage mit Bergen und Meerblick, dazu eine herrliche Ruhe, um ausspannen zu können. Das Haus ist sehr geräumig, bietet eine tolle Ausstattung mit allem was man für einen Urlaubsaufenthalt benötigt. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, da es hier nicht diese Sterilität hatte, wie in anderen Ferienunterkünften. Um das Haus herum gibt es etliche Sitzgelegenheiten. Da ist für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei und vor allem für jede Tages- und Nachtzeit. Wir haben es genossen, besonders den Sonnenaufgang über dem Meer. Der Eigentümer ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Sein Team jederzeit ansprechbar und es wird prompt auf Wünsche eingegangen. Beim Pool kann die Temperatur selbständig reguliert werden. Für Ruheliebende uneingeschränkte Empfehlung.

Retraite au calme mais proche de toutes les commodités

Maison spacieuse et agréable avec plein d’endroit différents pour se poser. À l’écart du passage, mais proche de la mer et de nombreux lieux de visite ( maison de C Manrique à Haria, cueva de los verdes, mirador del rio …) Nous avons apprécié de nous y ressourcer et de nous plonger dans la piscine chaude à souhait apres quelques visites culturelles. Nous y retournerons avec plaisir

tolles Haus in ruhiger Lage

Wir haben den Aufenthalt in diesem Haus mit den liebevoll angelegten Außenanlagen genossen. Das Haus ist mit allem ausgestattet was man braucht. Man findet rund ums Haus immer ein sonniges oder schattiges Plätzchen. Das Haus liegt in einem Tal etwas außerhalb des Dorfes. Es ist sehr ruhig mit einem schönen Blick auf das Meer. Der Gastgeber hat uns herzlich empfangen, gab uns tolle Tipps und war jederzeit erreichbar. Ein unvergesslicher Urlaub, wir kommen sicher noch einmal wieder.
