Great lodging. Well stocked kitchen. Nice big tables indoor and out. Nice hot tub. Pet friendly. Comfortable beds.Great location, close to the lake, hiking, river, and restaurants. Recommend for groups!

I stayed in the house with my sailing team. It is the perfect mix of common space and rooms to retreat. Also, enjoyed taking a walk through the forest just starting at the house. Definitely will book it again, in case we come back to Tahoe.

Great, cozy mountain house! Super clean, pet-friendly, has all the kitchen needs, very close to Palisades/olympic valley area and easy to access town. Communication, check-in/check-out all pretty seamless

Wunderbar @ Edelweiss!

Great stay at this classic Tahoe house! Clean, kitchen was well equipped, and hot tub under the stars was lovely. Enjoyed the Bavarian touches too.

More than enough room for guests, a nice hot tub, and one of the best wood burning stoves I've experienced. Very peaceful!

Quiet Get Away on Tahoe

The house was just as described. Comfortable and clean. Fans for every room which is a must on hotter days. Appreciate that it was dog friendly. Beds were firm but comfortable. Near wonderful hiking trails.

Amazing experience!

Communication was excellent! Really appreciate the agency and owner’s response time for all the questions we had. Property was AMAZING! Hot tub right next to the patio door, great kitchen stocked with actual tools needed to cook, and cozy & comfy rooms. Will absolutely stay again if available!

Great house and great location

We love North Shore and this was a great house in a great location! The description of the house was spot on! Very clean and it came with everything we needed. They even had an expresso machine! The hot tub was awesome after a day on the slopes and the kitchen and dining area fit our family and friends. The twin bed room was great for the kids and the rest of the rooms had comfortable beds. We would definitely rent here again. Loved how close it was to Tahoe City and to Alpine Meadows!

Winter Wonderland!

We loved our long weekend in you beautiful home! We had fresh snow for the kids to ski at Palisades, and for my husband (and dog) to snowshoe in Olympic Valley. The house and especially beds, were very comfortable, and we loved our evenings by the fire. We would love to come back again someday; maybe check out the neighborhood in the summer too. Thanks for sharing your mountain home!

For the most part a very nice experience. We loved the East facing deck with hot tub. Great place to enjoy morning coffee. Also excellent for appetizers and dinner outside. Kitchen could be so much nicer with a decent set of skillets and knives that you can slice /cut with. The skillets have ridges and are very old. Eggs and bacon in particular really stick to the bottoms, Pam or no Pam. The knives are so dull they should be replaced. There was only one that had a decent blade. Bring your own skillets and knives. I doubt the owner is using these items or they would have already replaced them. It’s a shame because the kitchen is very nice. The upstairs king bdrm is very nice. If you draw the short straw and are in the main floor king, bring double earplugs. There are metal fishing lures hanging down clanging against the wall all through the night when it’s breezy. It’s clear previous guests have cut the lines and taken them down. The instruction book asks you not to as it’s a deterrent to woodpeckers. It’s also a deterrent to a decent night’s sleep. The couple in that room did purchase wax full ear plugs and still had problems sleeping. Unfortunately we won’t be returning because of reasons listed in this review. FYI no problem for us but lots of stairs inside of the house so if you have a problem with stairs this isn’t the house for you.

One great spot!

Lovely cozy bullet proof home on a cul de sac right off the woods and Tahoe Rim and Rawhide trails. The location was superb. The cleaning service did a great job but the couch cushion covers and throw pillows could really use a deep clean. Lots of stairs. Long flight from street/garage level to main living level. Otherwise totally dog and kid friendly. Lots of games for family time. We would stay there again. Kitchen very well equipped. Easy walk to coffee shop or Sunnyside or into the woods.

Hard beds....

The mattresses were really hard. We like firm mattresses but these were super uncomfortable. All except one mattress were too hard. We all agreed and checked them all. Our daughter and her husband slept in the double bed because it was the most comfortable mattress. The bear wire around windows and on the entry mat was a little unsettling. The toilets were really low to the floor. The location was good. The place was clean and the kitchen was nice and well equipped. The pine interior made it feel like old Tahoe.

Hi Melanie, Thank you so much for your honest feedback! We've had many renters and no one has brought up hard mattresses in the past, but we will absolutely pass this info on to the homeowner. The toilets are standard size and the bathrooms have recently been updated. The bear fencing is a very common feature in Tahoe that keeps the property protected from bear break ins. It is very easy to use and quite safe. We provided instructions and educational info regarding this feature with your arrival information. Bear fencing is generally turned off before your arrival and once the switch is off, the entire system is off, so no need to be concerned about any wires. We do understand that it is not something most of our guests are familiar with as most people come from outside of bear country. Our goal is to make sure everyone is educated about the local wildlife so they can safely enjoy their stay.

Great location and fair price for what we got. Some disappointing features of the property: the hot tub water was very cloudy and smelled bad so we didn’t feel comfortable going in. That was a feature we had hoped to use. In addition, the screen door had a large hole allowing pests to get in so we had to keep the glass slider closed. The unit was mostly clean except for sticky greasy residue on the patio table and mold on the upstairs shower curtain. The king bedrooom downstairs was exceptionally small, and made for an uncomfortable stay. There wasn’t even a place to put a c-pap or phone with only room for one night stand, nor was there any space for a suitcase or clothing storage. The coffee maker in the kitchen was labeled “#4 cone filters”, but the cabinet was stocked with the wrong size (#2 and basket filters) so we were unable to brew coffee. Lastly, it should be explicitly noted in the description that the garage only has an EV outlet but guests are expected to bring their own charger.

Edelweiss Cabin in the woods

Reviewer Comments: We rented this home for 6 weeks. 4 bed/2 full bath, kitchen is nicely appointed with easy ‘entertaining’ & a large picnic style DR table that has a slider to the second floor porch w/hot tub & ‘views of Lake Tahoe thru the trees. It sits on the hill but not too difficult to drive up the road as long as 4 wheel drive. Very quiet & peaceful. The home is rustic & wood paneling thruout (is dark at times). 2 car garage w/direct home access. Hot water, WiFi work great, never any outage nor shortage. Cabin houses 8 guests - 2 king, 1 twin, 1 bunk - with lower bunk a queen. The LR is tight for more than 4 guests, we brought up porch chairs to accommodate seating. Beds - pillows are new (with pillow case liners!!) great support & sturdy. Ample linens for our 6 week stay. W/D in house (washer needs balancing) .Kitchen has a a lot of cooking items (cooking trays need to be replaced) we grilled a few times. Home has a snowblower!! And a wood fireplace insert that works great. We were quite satisfied w/the home - entering from garage to a vestibule & then up a flight of stairs keeps all the dirty boots off the living floor. We purchased a remnant to keep the lower entry tile floor cleaner. The home fit our needs (we were one full bath short when 8 adults in home), furniture is a little dated & sparse in LR, & cleanliness is a 4. However, Hauserman is quite responsive to contact rather an owner.

Intergenerational Family Get Away

Great Stay - Epic Adventure

The house was perfect, everyone got their own bedroom and the two baths worked great for the 8 of us. There was plenty of room and we never felt crowded. We were not able to ski several days as the resorts were closed due to weather, but we had a great time playing games, hot tubbing, sledding and stayed warm with the fireplace. The kitchen and eating space worked out great for all our many family meals. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything you needed. The driveway was plowed most days and the roads were drivable to the house. The location was close to town and the ski resorts. It was an epic adventure and the house was a big part of our fun trip!

It was cozy and homey - with a “cabin” feel... but still very spacious and complete with all the modern conveniences one could hope for! The neighborhood is lovely, very peaceful and the people we met were all extremely friendly. I loved the simple lay out of two bedrooms and a bath on the main floor and two bedrooms and a bath on the second floor. This is perfect for two small families in my opinion. They actually had king sized beds which was amazing! Firm mattresses (a bit too firm for me - but I slept well!).Just a 15 minute drive to the Alpine Meadows base area! Super kid friendly place - that even had some great games/toys. Our daughter built the play mobile volcano. Would totally recommend this home. Wonderful value and excellent stay. Wonderful time in Tahoe City!

Our group had a great time at the Edelweiss cabin! The house was in a great neighborhood, and was very clean upon our arrival. Some members of our group participated in the Spartan Race at Squaw Valley. The house was convenient and close to the venue (10 minutes). The house offered great amenities, and a great time was had by all! Highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a spot in Tahoe City!
