Guests come to the Old Chapel time and time again for the relaxed feel of a beach house in an unusual and historic building. The provision is simple in that there's no underfloor heating, air conditioning or interior designed lighting system. However, every detail is provided for including WiFi, Sonos surround sound system, a well stocked kitchen for accomplished cooks, 2 fridges, 1 freezer, barbecue, mocha pot & milk frother for the most discerning coffee lover. It's a case of simple things can bring much happiness and relaxation. The ritz it is not.

We always address any issues that come up during our guests stay as a priority. It would have been helpful to know that something wasn't working while you were staying. We could have resolved it for you with no bother.

Lily and her group were really easy to look after. They communicated well before the trip and having more than one point of contact was useful to address everyone’s questions.

Natalie was a pleasure to deal with. She communicated well before her stay which meant they were able to make the most of their time. I’m so glad they had a great time and are in agreement with how special the old chapel is. They are welcome to come back anytime.

The house is situated on a trunk rd between tintagel and camelford. On the occasion that there is heavier traffic this can not be heard from the living space so does not disturb or detract from the enjoyment of the space and the peaceful back garden with field views.

The lack of WiFi was an unfortunate glitch with BT and outside of our control. The WiFi is usually good and has been rectified. There is no phone signal at Trebarwith Beach, but signal at the house is good. The lack of WiFi would have affected WhatsApp & email, but not text & phone communication.

It was a pleasure to host Jo and her group. Always feels good to know someone else enjoyed this special place as much as we do.

Yes I agree, the building is definitely quirky with steps and light switches in unusual places. The balustrade in the garden, radiators in every room and hooks on the back of doors we find sufficient for our towel needs. Really glad you had a lovely time and hope we can welcome you back someday.

Helen and her family were a joy to host. We worked together to reschedule and adjust their holiday due to the pandemic and changes to their group during that time. They communicated well before and during their stay which made it a better experience for them overall. We look forward to hosting them again in the future.

We have styled this property as vintage and quirky and feel it is appropriately furnished. If you are looking for modern/new build style accommodation then this property won’t be for you. We love the character of this old building and stripping it out and replacing features would alter that considerably. We work with a high end and professional cleaning company who leave everything spotless for your stay. It’s an old chapel and not everyone understands that. The information & photos we list on this site describes everything as it is. Anyone looking to book is very welcome to ask as many questions as they like before and after booking.

Its impossible to show guests what the lay out is like as it is very unusual, but we display clear photos and description of the property. We make every effort to engage with our guests in the weeks before their trip and provide ample opportunity for them to ask any questions as well as providing information on what they may need to bring with them. It is clear from the photos and the description of the property that 2 of the bedrooms are sleeping lofts above the living room. You had the opportunity to ask questions before your visit but you chose not to disclose the purpose of your trip. You had hired another property up there road in addition and used our property as a base for up to 20 of you. It’s no wonder you felt short on space. Had you engaged before hand I could have told you that the house can sleep up to 10, but for a single sex group it is feasible for 7. At the time your group also broke Covid rules of habitation in a holiday property. You say we provide good value for money and yet when asked on leaving to pay a further £50 for the mess left behind you declined. This is a much loved property and we always want our guests to get the most out of their stay. We are always happy to receive constructive feedback and adjust our service accordingly. These comments are disappointing and not our usual guest review.
