A wonderful listed house with lovely beams and fireplaces, yet with modern facilities, a beautiful garden, in a lovely location close to many wonderful places to visit. The house is clean and beautifully furnished and no expense or effort have been spared to make you feel at home and welcome. The garden too has many lovely places to sit and relax. A great house to rest and restore your energies.Chris, the owner is a great host, offering generous hospitality, with a nice welcome card and great welcome basket, filled with goodies. We have stayed at The Old School House twice now and are looking forward to staying again another time. We recommend this holiday home whole heartedly.

Dear ChrisFrom the moment we walked in we felt at home. Your cottage was the perfect place to relax and for family and friends to pop by and catch up. All the generous touches, a welcome basket and milk in the fridge were much appreciated along with coffee and tea! The beds were comfortable and bathrooms spotless. We enjoyed having a pint or two of our favorite beer, Fullers London Pride, at The Six Bells and interacting with the friendly locals. The weather was kind to us, so we were able to go and enjoy the steam railway from Tenterden to Bodiam Castle and also Hever Castle on the way to the airport. Your recommendations of The White Lion and The Ferry Inn were spot on, especially The Ferry Inn - the food and service there were top notch.Thank you again for providing such a fabulous home from home….almost a shame the weather was so good…..otherwise we would have stayed in and read our way through your library of great books Very best wishesLiz and MarkSeattle, WA

An absolutely idyllic cottage in a quiet village, with plenty to do nearby. The photos don’t quite do justice to how lovely the house itself is, nor the garden. We had a wonderful stay, with absolutely everything we could have needed. Chris was a wonderful host, immediately on hand for any queries. We couldn’t have asked for more. The village is small and peaceful, with a well-stocked small shop and a lovely coffee shop. Anything bigger that’s needed is only 10 minutes away in Tenterden, as are both Gusbourne and Chapel Down.

Chris was a great host and the property and gardens were incredible. The house is 400yrs old and Chris has renovated it and thought of everything. What a comfortable and pleasant stay. He covered everything possible and the checkin/out process was very easy.

Our second stay in this beautiful property and we loved it just as much as the first time. Great location in the village with the butchers on the corner and local walks - all making it very relaxing. We stay in a lot of holiday homes in the UK but we’ve never stayed anywhere as nice as the Old School House. Love the decor and homely feel. Did a tour of Chapel Down vineyard which was good, a lovely walk from Warehorne to Appledore and back and a day in Rye which is essential. Recommend getting to Rye by 10am if you’re going on a Saturday and enjoy the town before the crowds.Thank you for a lovely stay!

This property is truly outstanding. Extremely comfortable and of high specification. It made for a very relaxing break. We didn't want to come home, it's that good! Thank you Chris for being so welcoming and having such beautiful accommodation.

A most comfortable, relaxing break with a gorgeous garden in a property that was so welcoming. Chris' contact and information were exemplary. The house is beautiful, full of books, dvds, multiple TV channels and games. Finally church bells, birds including a cuckoo and the smell of wisteria wafting in from the garden. Perfection!

Wonderful!

What a fantastic house and garden, set in a lovely village with a coffee shop, two pubs, village shop and butchers on your door step! We were so lucky with the weather which meant we could take full advantage of the beautuful cottage garden with its range of outdoor eating areas. Think this must be one if the best holiday cottages we have stayed in and would absolutely recommend to others.

Wonderful

A charming historic house with period fireplaces and wood beams. The garden is superb, with multiple sitting areas and a view of the 12th century church next door. We enjoyed both the house and local area hugely.

Great Village Home

Fantastic cottage in charming Woodchurch. We are so glad to have chosen to stay here. The home was wonderful and the chance to engage with people in Woodchurch made our trip really special. We loved the local butcher and his cuts of meat were exceptional. You won’t regret staying here.

We really enjoyed our stay at Chris' lovely house. The weather was wet and dismal when we arrived, so it was a joy to walk into a warm, cosy and welcoming house! Chris had left us a welcome package, which was very much appreciated.The garden is lovely (and secure and dog-friendly) and would be fantastic to use in better weather. Woodchurch is a great village offering a butchers, two pubs, a convenience store and a fabulous coffee shop serving very good food - and all within really easy walking distance. We also walked to the local Woodchurch Vineyard for wine-tasting and came away with a bottle or two!Chris was very communicative throughout, and made us feel very welcome.We would definitely return and would highly recommend.

Arrived after six hour drive from the coast of Cornwall. Tried to get into the cottage but the lock box had no key. Telephoned the owner but he didn’t answer. Went next door to the butcher. Waited 10 minutes then spoke to him about whether he knew the owner or could help me contact the caretaker. He had no knowledge of either. After waiting 45 minutes tried to contact the owner again. This time he picked up. Apologized for no key and said he’d call the caretaker. She arrived quickly, apologized, and let us in. Both sets of keys had been left inside. We unpacked and went out to dinner. Came back around 9:00 pm and realized neither the wifi nor tv worked. Went to bed. Wifi and tv still not working in the morning, We decided to leave after one night instead of four. The master bed was also too small so had a poor sleep. Texted the owner that we had left. He said that I should have tried to contact him so he could have walked me through re-booting the system. I told him that if he had the foresight to have the caretaker do a dry run before our arrival the key would have been in the correct spot and the wifi and tv would have been re-booted for us! Overall a bad experience.

We take our guest experience very seriously and always inspect the property between check-ins. Unfortunately, it appears a previous guest had inadvertently unplugged the router, a minor issue we would have happily and instantly resolved for you with a quick phone call. Because we were not made aware of the issue until after your departure, we unfortunately lost the opportunity to make things right for you during your stay. We always encourage our guests to reach out to us immediately with any concerns so we can resolve them on the spot. We are sorry that you didn't have a comfortable night's sleep, but it is the case that both main bedrooms do have standard UK king-size beds. If I might clarify one element of your feedback? The first call I received from you was answered straightaway. Within three minutes my housekeeper was letting you in. It was an oversight not to have the key in the key safe but one which was corrected quickly.

Stunning property

Had an amazing reunion with my sister and her husband, the property is perfect the garden’s beautiful and the location is just perfect in itself but so close to lovely spots to visit. Chris the host left a welcome treat for us and we got to meet him which was an added bonus

Brilliant week

Outstanding house in a beautiful location. We have been to plenty of cottages over the years and this is far the best one we have ever stayed in. We were all sorry to pack our bags to come home.

Old School House

The Old School House was a lovely property to enjoy a long weekend away with the family. We were greeted with welcome basket that set the wonderful tone for the weekend, very easy to relax and enjoy the house and garden. Thoroughly recommend this property.

Wonderful for many reasons

There`s no need to repeat, what others have said before, but the house is extremely charming and tastefully furnished, while the historical charm is combined with all amenities you need. The garden is lovely and very well maintained. On top of that the village is idyllic and the pubs just around the corner are definitely worth a visit to relax after some sightseeing. So all in all that`s a gem and a perfect place to explore Kent. We really enjoyed our stay.
