Denne Eildon St lejlighed er en virkelig fantastisk lejlighed med en fantastisk beliggenhed. Med to soveværelser, en smuk udsigt og alle de faciliteter, du har brug for denne lejlighed, er perfekt til din rejse til Edinburgh.

Den store stue har en chesterfield lædersofa og stole, sofabord. Det fuldt udstyrede køkken / spisestue er veludstyret til at hjælpe dig med at ryle nogle godbidder eller lave en middag.

Denne lejlighed kan rumme op til 6 personer. Det store soveværelse har en stor queensize-seng, soveværelse 2 har to enkeltsenge og en yderligere enkelt madras, hvis det er nødvendigt, der er også 2 airbeds tilgængelige. Familiebadeværelset er moderne med fuldt brusebad over badekar.

Flat was in a nice location next to the botanical garden. Also easy bus stop access for quick rides to/from downtown. Local cafe on the corner has great cheesecake. No dryer, but the washer worked well and there was a nice drying rack lift in the kitchen. Close neighbors, so the host encourages being respectfull and quiet. We would definitely choose this one again.

Very clear instructions for check-in, how to park. Location is very accessible to everywhere, buses are regular just around the corner from the flat. You can walk to attractions but over a mile to get there. An enjoyable stay

The host was nothing short of amazing. The place was wonderful and was close to everything that we needed for the best tourist experience.
Views out the kitchen and the living room. Sun rise and sun set.
Walking distance of all the museums and such or bus we did both.
Very close to the botanical gardens and we would just wander around even in January it’s beautiful.

This home met our needs perfectly. The Botanic Garden is across the street, there’s a Tesco within easy walking distance, and there were regular buses running when we didn’t feel like walking to central Edinburgh. The home was clean and comfortable, as advertised. There is one flight of stairs to get to the flat, but that wasn’t a problem for us. If I return to Edinburgh, I’ll hope to stay here again.

Wonderful stay close to Old Town

Had such a wonderful time at James’ place. Perfect location for getting around. The bus routes were right down the road and easy to access. Or if you prefer you can walk and you are only a mile away from City Center/Old Town. There’s a delicious coffee shop right downstairs so good. The place has so much character and the beds were the most comfortable ones we stayed in the whole trip. James was great at communicating with us and so kind. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Loved the flat and the location

This VRBO flat is comfortable and well-maintained, and we enjoyed our two-week stay there very much. Because we like to walk and use public transportation, the location was perfect. Within 1/2 block is a bus stop with 3 routes to the City Center.(Helpful hint: an all day bus pass good for all city buses costs 4 pounds which is only 60p more than 2 one-way tickets.) Using our passes, we could ride any route, or various routes, to see more of the city than the usual highlights. From the the flat to Stockbridge is an easy 20 minute walk, and from Princes Street to the flat is a pleasant, downhill walk. The East Gate entrance to the Royal Botanical Gardens is 1/2 block away and is free, and we visited it several times. Another advantage is that less than a 15 minute walk on a pedestrian/bicycle path takes one to the TESCO Supermarket, making it easy to cook in for meals in the roomy, eat-in kitchen. From that kitchen window is the view of the natural, stone-walled backyard, still blooming with flowers. From the living room window, there is a view of Calton Hill, which beckoned us to walk there too, not so easy, but worth it! We hated to leave this beautiful city and this home-away-from-home flat!

Nice view, but has mice, not clean, and worn

We encountered mice on the kitchen counters throughout our three-week stay. The presence of bait traps indicates this is an ongoing problem. We reported the problem to both the host and VRBO. The host promised to send an exterminator to address the mice problem, but no one ever came. VRBO was difficult to contact and did nothing despite their “Book with Confidence” guarantee. The housekeeping is dreadful and likely contributes to the mice problem. We had to dispose of some left over food that we found in the cupboards. We spent time cleaning the mold out of the washer before putting our clothes in. There were greasy cooking sheets covered with fat drippings in the oven. On the first night in the unit, the duvet on the primary bed smelled of urine. The host did have a replacement duvet and pillows delivered. The bedding and furniture are worn. The double mattress on the primary bed desperately needs to be replaced. It was so saggy that my spouse had to move to the twin bed in the back bedroom to sleep for the three weeks we were in the unit. Additionally, the living room sofa has been overused and is in need of replacement. Although outside the purview of the owner, the building's entry and stairs to the unit are dark and dirty making us feel unsafe. The view in the distance of Arthur's Seat and the skyline of Edinburgh combined with the ongoing activities in Warriston playfield across the street were redeeming features of the apartment. The location near the Botanic Gardens was good. Based on our experiences, we would not recommend staying here.

I am very disappointed to read this review for several reasons: Firstly, I take pride in my home in Edinburgh and in being a good host, I consider my job to make everyone happy who stays at my flat and I am proud to say that I have 100's of 5* reviews across several platforms that make me confident that this is actually being achieved. These reviews show that my flat is a great place to stay and that I am doing a good job as host. That being said, I am disappointed that John’s group did not feel this was the case for their stay. Secondly, I do not accept John’s account of the issues encountered: Regarding mice, I have a contract with a professional Pest Control company that makes visits throughout the year to ensure I don't have any issues - they reported to me after visiting the flat (at John's request) on May 11th that there was no signs of recent activity. In their opinion if there were any sightings it was likely a fly-by visit looking for food and perhaps due to some food that was left on the counter - this, unfortunately, happens occasionally in older buildings in Edinburgh, and for that matter around the world - after the visit the company confirmed there are no mice living in the flat. After John complained about the duvet I immediately ordered a new one for next day delivery, strangely this package was found by my cleaner unopened 2 weeks later after John's departure - I can only conclude that there was no issue with the existing duvet since they continued to use it. The cooking sheets were indeed in need of replacement which I have now done – If I had known about the issue I would have been happy to order an immediate replacement. The bed mattress is in good shape and does not sag as reported - the issue was that the bed had been moved and the supports under the bedframe were dislodged and not supporting the bed as designed causing the sag, again I could have corrected this if I had been informed. – this issue is now fixed by moving the bed 2 feet to the original spot. As for the condition of the common stairwell, this is typical of tenement flats in Scotland - it is certainly safe and my neighbors are all lovely people, several with young children – no one in our neighborhood feels unsafe in any way. Communication with John was very challenging, many messages were unanswered and most issues he raised in the review were not raised with me to give me a chance to resolve them. Although this was a disappointing review, I am confident that my flat will continue to be enjoyed and reviewed 5* by future guests, my suggestion is that in the future John should consider staying in a different style of accommodation while traveling - perhaps stick to hotels.

Incredible Location, Incredible Views!

My husband and I stayed in this spacious flat for 4 weeks. The location of the flat is fantastic. It is ½ block from the Royal Botanic Gardens and right on the 3 main bus lines that service a large section of Edinburgh. It is very easy to walk to several access points to the lovely paths along the Water of Leith. It is an easy walk to Stockbridge and not very far to walk up to New Town or over to Old Town. The apartment has a very well appointed kitchen with plenty of cooking tools and a roomy eating area. We were able to cook up a large American Thanksgiving feast in the flat. The view from the living area and main bedroom is of Calton Hill, Arthur’s seat and part of Old Town. The sunrise and sunsets are incredible. The beds were comfortable (if a bit soft) and the comforters were very warm. We had a snafu about halfway through our stay when the boiler started to give out and we didn’t have reliable heat or hot water for a few days. James (the landlord) was very quick to get an emergency plumber out and after a few visits from the plumber, the flat now has a brand new boiler. If you want to be close to all the action in the city but live in a more tranquil area you can’t go wrong with this flat.

Une belle adresse à proximité du centre ville

Nous avons apprécié l'appartement de James à côté du jardin botanique avec une belle vue dégagée sur le centre ville. Il est agréablement meublé et équipé avec une vrai sensation d'espace dans la cuisine et le salon. Le supermarché n'est pas très loin et un salon de thé excellent est juste à côté à l'angle de la rue. Le quartier est très calme et reposant. Il faut compter 20 minutes à pied pour rejoindre le centre ville, sachant que les bus passent très régulièrement. Nous recommandons fortement cette location.

Cosy and Convenient

Warm, comfortable and clean flat with a fantastic view! A real home from home. Convenient for buses into town and a supermarket nearby. We really enjoyed our long weekend in Edinburgh and we would recommend this flat as a great place to stay.

Sehr schöne Wohnung mit toller Lage

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Alles ist vorhanden in der schönen Wohnung. Die Aussicht über die Stadt ist toll. Sehr schön ist die Lage dicht am Botanischen Garten. Auch ist eine Bushaltestelle sehr nah, so dass man alles schnell erkunden kann. Der Kontakt zum Vermieter war sehr angenehm. Wenn wir noch einmal nach Edinburgh kommen, werden wir wieder diese Wohnung buchen.

We love Edinburgh!

We had a wonderful stay at your flat in Edinburgh. It was very close to the city centre and the view from window was lovely. All the amenities were provided right down to the universal adapters. Four of us stayed and there was loads of room. We especially enjoyed the gas fireplace when you come in from the damp. The neighbors were friendly and helpful when I needed to pre-book a taxi. We would definitely recommend staying in this flat. On the negative side: - TV was advertised, TV was present but you could only watch Netflix - we found the lighting to be dim in the bathroom and the hallway as well as the entry stairwell in the early morning - we found a soiled diaper in the corner of the side table in the master bedroom and an empty liquor bottle under the master bed; definitely not a thorough cleaning before our arrival. The negatives do not outweigh the positives. We enjoyed our time in Edinburgh and will most certainly be coming back!

Amazing property

The flat is amazing. Spotlessly clean and very well appounted with everything we needed and more. There is plaenty of room with a large kitchen diner and a large living room aswell as two bedrooms. The location is ideal, it took us about 20 minutes to walk to Princes Street. James was very helpful before and during our stay and made sure he made our holiday perfect . A lovely bottle of wine and sone shortbread were welcome gifts and other holiday makers had left essentials such as tea, coffee and sugar. For anything else there is a Tesco right around the corner. Edinburgh is s beautiful and interesting city and this property is the perfect place to stay.

schöne, gut ausgestattete Wohnung in Citynähe

Die Wohnung ist liebevoll eingerichtet und verfügt neben einem geräumigen Bad und zwei Schlafzimmern über eine große Küche, ein großzügiges Wohnzimmer mit internetfähigen Fernseher und WLan. Bügeleisen, Fön, Staubsauger, alles ist vorhanden. Drei Buslinien fahren direkt vor der Tür, in ca. 15 Minuten ist man in der City, dennoch liegt die Wohnung in einer ruhigen Straße. Der Kontakt mit dem Vermieter war sehr angenehm.

Comfortable place in a great location

Our family of 4 (including two kids - 3 and 6) stayed here for 4 nights. It was a decent size, including plenty of room for kids to play in the living room and also a spacious kitchen. Also, clean and no safety concerns with the kids. Access requires one flight of stairs (with no lift - typical of properties like this in Edinburgh), but this didn't cause any significant problems for us. The location is excellent - Botanic Gardens and Water of Leith nearby, with very good bus services into town also very close. We would definitely stay here again.

Great Place

A very quaint, quiet 2-bedroom flat, within walking distance of restaurants and shopping, and right on the bus line. Close enough to walk to the royal mile, if you're up for a good stroll. Excellent accommodations! I would highly recommend them!
