Cabin was perfect for our family of five! Nice open concept with the up north cabin feel we were looking for. Beds were comfortable and lots of space in the bedrooms as well. The back deck was nice and peaceful for our coffee in the morning and happy hour in the evening. Canoe was on site for our use and the kids had a great time taking it out to do some fishing. Location was perfect to walk for dinner, ice cream, farmer’s market, and mini golf. We loved our stay and will be back!

Beautiful cabin!

We really enjoyed our stay at Lazy Pines! The beautiful wood inside and peaceful deck out back would make you think you are on a secluded lake and not just outside the city. We enjoyed all of our stay and will definitely be back again!

Clean, adorable, log cabin living.

Loved this location! Easy travel to nearby activities (fly fishing in the Namekagon), clean, charming, all the amenities! Completely delightful.

This is such a peaceful and beautiful place to stay, great location, amazing hosts and really great fishing! Thanks for letting us stay and we will for sure be back next summer!!!

Beautiful and fun

The best of both worlds- quiet lakefront property with plenty to do. We didn’t have neighbors in cabin B so that was amazing. Might be a little tight with unfamiliar neighbors next door

perfect location

The location was perfect for our purposes. I used to live in Hayward WI and I wanted a place close to town to eliminate travel time to town to see friends, but with the cabin feeling like I was on an UpNorth Wisconsin lake. This place had both. The cabin was very woodsy, We were given 4 free tickets to the Lumberjack Show and the miniature golf as well.It was a great vacation.

When we got there, the cabin seemed clean. When i took out the pull out bed that evening, the sheets and blankets had cheese dust on them, called the number in the binder and left a message here, i got nothing til 9 am the next morning. With a slight apology and a "well the blankets dont get washed after every renter" and the longer we stayed the more I realized there was dust and cob webs in all the corners.This is indeed a catfish of a place, the yard is cut into 3 sections, its not nearly as big as the picture seems. The back door didn't latch properly and the only way I could latch it properly was to dead bolt it ( side facing the lake with young children can be dangerous) When brought to the attention of the owner. He told me it would be fixed later that day.. it was not. I booked for 2 adults and 4 kids which was correct amount of people for the cabin but they only supplied 4 towels.. and when I asked for the amount I told them was going to be there we got irritated looks. Binder states all garbage must be put in dumpster, but they padlock it. Theres water damage around light fixtures in living room ceiling, under upstairs bathroom. Exposted electrical wires in the kitchen also coming from a light fixture. Over rated overall. Won't be back, wont recommend.

Anniversary stay

We really enjoyed our stay in the cabin, it was very clean with plenty of room. Rhonda was very quick in responding to any questions. The Hayward festival was going on so we walked the town, since it was late in the season some things were not open. We had a lot of rain overnight but it didn't stop us from enjoying our stay. We will stay again when we can bring our grandchildren.

No sleep

While the property was as advertised, we were very disappointed in the fact that any movement in the cabin could be heard on both floors. So if someone woke, everyone woke. We left a day early because of lack of sleep.

Catfished

The cabin was clean and check in was easy. On arrival there was no where to park our boat so we could check in. This location has the lumberjack show literally right there. My kids (as well as myself and my husband) were so disappointed on arrival Pictures represent a different scenario along with description. We ended up having to find another place to stay to have an up north fishing vacation feel. This cabin is great for a different type of vacation such as spending a few days in town shopping/visiting the city of Hayward. Not for relaxing, fishing etc………

I'm so sorry that the cabin didn't meet your expectations and wish that you had reached out for any issues. We do have accommodations for boat parking. The description of the property states that the cabin is a part of Lumberjack Village and is within walking distance of the various recreational businesses such as the River Deck, Lumberjack Show, Mini Golf and that we are within walking distance from downtown. The pictures of the cabin and backyard are accurate. While we do not have a photo of the entire Lumberjack Village, we do have photos of the various businesses located within, as well as a Google Map that clearly shows the Village as a series of businesses. Again we are sorry that it didn't fit what you were looking for.

Close to Everything

The cabin was spacious and cabin-y -- log construction, rustic decor, etc. There was everything we needed in the kitchen and bathrooms (it was GREAT to have the extra half bath), and Michelle, the manager, made sure we had everything to make our stay comfortable.The floors are REALLY creaky - no sneaking around in this place - but that's a quibble. Being on a finger of Hayward Lake was also nice. We used the provided canoe for a morning paddle. Tickets to mini-golf and the Lumberjack show were a nice bonus.The cabin is close to everything, so if you're looking for a secluded getaway far from the "action," this isn't it. But if you want to be minutes away from downtown and next door to the fabulous River Deck restaurant, it's a great choice. Would definitely book again.

Nevermore Lumberjack village

Furnishings lacking: extremely uncomfortable beds, sofa collapsing- the most comfortable place to sit was a wooden kitchen chair😒 only 1 small juice glass and 1 10-oz glass; Mismatched flatware; Wi-Fi was sporadic at best and often non-existent Parking in front of or near to the cottage was impossible during their twice-weekly lumberjack shows. No-reserved spaces for renters. Also if you bring your own boat/trailer don’t expect to park it within view of your rental unit. We were asked to move ours on two separate occasions. Not worth the money to stay. We cut our stay short, leaving one day early.

We are sorry that this guests experience was not what they had hoped for. We strive to have all our guests enjoy Lumberjack Village. Our cleaning staff normally reports any issues with kitchen stocks and repairs but we are double checking this Cabin to address any issues. The bed comfort is a subjective issue...some like them soft some not so much. And Lumberjack Village is a busy place during the Lumberjack Shows which last 1.5 hours. Free tickets are provided to the Show and most guests love that experience. We do have a dock for boat parking right behind the cabin and secure trailer parking is available but in specific spots...perhaps that could have been communicated better and will be in the future. Lumberjack Village is a large complex dedicated to tourism and guest experience is very important to us. Our success requires that we listen to guests...we always appreciate their input!

Family vacation

We had a nice stay with our family! We ran into problems with the smoke alarm going off a few times when trying to cook a frozen pizza due to there not being a vent fan in the kitchen. And the shower and bathroom had a very low ceiling and that should be stated on the listing. My father hit his head pretty hard. There is a nail sticking out on the kitchen floor that needs to be addressed. And I called Rhonda to get a black garbage bag and found out she no longer works there, she should pry be taken off the papers hanging up. These are all minor complaints. We really enjoyed our time at the Village. We will be looking into coming back possibly next year. Thank you for the hospitality.

Great stay!

Overall our stay was great. The cabin has everything you need including towels which is rare for a cabin in WI. We loved the classic log cabin feel and gas fireplace. We used the canoe that is included with the stay. We were missing oars but the property manager was wonderful and provided them right away. Only two things that I’ll note. There is no privacy outside this cabin. Your front door is on a board walk that leads to another cabin, the office, and shops. The back does have the lake but you can see the lumberjack show from the dock and the office is right next door as the other cabin is on the other side. Another thing to keep in mind is that if you have young ones, this may not be the cabin for you. The floor creaking is LOUD. There is no sneaking around and you can hear everything. Even from upstairs. But overall we enjoyed our stay and these things didn’t bother us!

We loved the cabin & Lumberjack Village!

We could not have been any happier with our stay at Lumberjack Village! The cabin was immaculate and very cozy. It had all of the amenities one would need or want. The five of us had plenty of space of our own. The indoor elements of the cabin are comfortable, but the outdoor elements really shine. The back porch is a great size, and the property backs up to Lake Hayward. There is a pier that my wife and I had coffee on every morning, and watched the sun go down every afternoon. The lake water is pristine, and we were also given a canoe and paddle boat to use during our stay. We all loved the canoe especially. The backyard was always quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed a fire every night in the backyard fire pit. The two rental cabins are located in a very unique spot in the village, steps away from a great ice cream shop and a fantastic, upscale restaurant, also adjacent to the lake. The lumberjack show was an amazing spectacle, one we won’t soon forget. Make sure you go!! The mini-golf across the street is also a fun track. Main Street in Hayward has great shops, bars, and restaurants, and is an easy walk from Lumberjack Village. The small, private beach in Hayward is about half a mile, very walkable even in summer shoes, and was clean and well-maintained. Rhonda, Fred, Kenny, and anyone who was a part of Lumberjack Village were wonderful, so kind, approachable, and welcoming. The Northwoods are special, and the cabins at the Village are equally great.

Upon arrival the kitchen counter top was not clean nor was the upstairs bathroom glass shelf and I had to unload the dishwasher. I had to contact maintenance to tighten the toilet seat also. Who doesn’t report that??!! The endless sprinkler going off for 2 days, even though it rained and the person placing the sprinkler could have directed it off my patio deck and could have shut it off before they left the office. The master bedroom could use a new mattress. Conveniently located and it was available last minute. It was doable.

We have a regular cleaner and we will follow up with her to make sure everything is up to our standard. I understand the toilet seat was repaired right away. Previous guests had loaded the dishwasher, and as it was a same day turnaround, the cleaning staff was unable to unload due to it still running. I'm sorry we didn't notify you that that was the case. Being that it has been an unseasonably dry summer, we make efforts to use the sprinklers to keep the grass green. We are sorry the sprinkler was an inconvenience for you. We love the place however the floors are very loud and creepy.

We had a very good stay love the luxe and the aesthetics of the cabin. Very close to everything however timing wasn’t great on our part as lots of things were closed close by. The floors were creaky and loud and we happen to have a mouse join us for our last visit. However the person that took care of us did come over and bring mouse traps. I would definitely recommend it to people

Clean cabin, but misleading pictures

The cabin is very clean inside, nothing fancy but good enough if your just there to sleep. Had some communication with the property manager Rhonda before staying that was very unsettling and not handled in the correct way. The pictures look like the cabin is more off the beaten path, but definitely in a commercial, very busy parking lot. Cars flying in constantly and not any privacy. We would try and relax on the front porch and constantly had people walking right on our porch, through our chairs to go to the lumberjack show. Rent if you want a clean location located in town

Quite place to relax

Very nice cabin got to use the paddle boat and canoe both worked great. Close to town but still nice and quite. Nice fire pit area to relax after a long day doing whatever you came to do
