Excellent stay in very comfortable cottage.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Anne Boleyn cottage, which was easy to book and helpful staff answered queries quickly. Very comfortable and really well equipped and immaculately clean. The weather was extremely hot but good fans provided. In a quiet location with easily accessed car park. Hope to return one day.

Lovely character cottage for a family break

Anne Boleyn cottage was perfect for our family holiday with the rest of our party staying at Queen Mary cottage next door. The cottages are all so picturesque, clean and comfortable. The courtyard was small but all we really needed for the dog because there were some lovely dog walks on the doorstep and a short walk to the shops and dog friendly pubs.

Couple of days at Anne Boleyn cottage

Had a lovely break at Sudeley which is well positioned for looking around the Cotswolds if you want to travel further afield. The cottage was equipped well and Winchcombe was just a short stroll up the lane when we needed supplies. Bolt Hole Retreats were efficient, friendly and accommodating. Would certainly recommend booking through them as the cottage was everything we had hoped it would be.

Beautiful location and a very comfortable cottage.

Anne Boleyn cottage is spacious with a wonderful open plan kitchen, dining area and a comfortable sitting room. The kitchen is well equipped and a small outdoor area made it perfect for our stay in Winchcombe. The decor is tasteful and all finished to a high standard. We loved our stay and enjoyed exploring Winchcombe and the surrounding countryside. Free entry to Sudeley Castle was a great bonus!

Christmas break!

We had a very enjoyable stay at the cottages over Christmas, with our family and our dog. The accommodation was comfortable, providing everything we needed and the location was excellent. Thank you!

Great stay!

Easy booking process and great communication. Very clean on arrival and generally well equipped. However, a couple of older kitchen items do need attention. Flaking non-stick surfaces on one pan was a surprise, and not of the same high standard as the rest of the kitchen. Everything you need in terms of white goods, and all worked well. Good supply of china, though extra plates would be useful, and even better supply of glasses. Well furnished, comfortable beds, good supply of towels. Liked the shower, water hot and reasonably powerful. Some areas of carpet getting rather worn, but not yet a trip hazard. Very pleasant outdoor area, with the sun on it most of the day, and shady areas as well. Good parking close to the cottage.

Super cottage, equipped with everything one needs for a perfect break. A Christmas tree already lit up in the corner of the sitting room, on arrival, was a lovely touch.

Peaceful setting

Lovely spacious cottage, very clean and tidy, ample towels, and toiletries, only downside is that the settee could do with a deep clean. Very quiet, excellent location with private parking. Few minutes walk to Winchcombe high street, and easy access across the field to Sudeley Castle

Excellent 5* you won’t be disappointed.

The cottage was excellent. All the extra little touches, welcome pack, milk, tea and coffee pods were all very welcoming after a journey even down to the mints and torches! Position was good to see the cotswolds and being able to walk to the castle was a bonus. We would definitely recommend this property and I’m sure we will return.

Delightful short break with the dog

We had a delightful stay at Anne Boleyn’s cottage. We are a family of four with a dog and we found the cottage very comfortable. The location was great as we were only a short walk from Winchcombe High Street and we looked over the sheep field with lambs. Everything we needed was provided in the cottage including torches for late evening dog walks! Sudeley Castle entrance was included with the stay and we found that really interesting.

Perfect place to stay in the Cotswolds

My 87 year old mother, niece and I stayed in the Anne Boleyn cottage within the Sudeley Castle Cottages. It was absolutely perfect and a great base to see so many village around. It was perfect with the full kitchen facilities to be able to cook meals when we wanted to. The shops are only a 5 min walk away with pubs, cafe’s and food shops for supplies. We even joined the local community for a church service at St Peter’s and were warmly welcomed. The cottage had everything we needed and would highly recommend staying here.

Digventure

We booked a two night stay whilst we were taking part in the archeology dig at Sudely castle and it couldn't have been more perfectly suited. Easy distance from the castle and town centre and fully equipped with everything we might have needed. The shower was just what was needed along with the large and fluffy towels after a day's digging and the cottage warm and cosy to hunker down as the darker nights came in over the weekend.

Anne Boleyn Cottage, Sudeley Castle, Winchcombe

What a wonderful place to stay! The cottage was just what we needed in order to see Winchcombe and it's nearby villages. We're particularly impressed by Winchcombe as it was a place we held so dear in our hearts, having visited it not so long ago. Family have lived there and we wanted to return to see it all again. We love how the cottage allows you to enter the Castle grounds and you can wander off into the fields nearby, such as walks along the Isbourne River. Lots of memories and lots of fun, we will return next year. Thank you to the housekeepers who keep these cottages in pristine condition.

A Very comfortable cottage

There was everything that you could possible need for a short or long vacation in the cottage. It was ideally situated, very close to Winchcombe’s high street, so that in the evening you had a choice of pubs to walk to for dinner. It was very dog friendly, with superb walks within minutes of the door. We experienced biblical rain, but felt very happy and cosy to stay indoors. We extended our stay, and have also booked a return visit during the NewYear holiday. The communication with Bolthole was excellant.

A few things let this property down.

A few things let this property down and made it feel rather uncared for; the extractor fan in the kitchen has a fault that makes it unbearably noisy, one of the sockets in the larger bedroom did not work, the shower door doesn't shut properly, the outdoor seating area was full of weeds, there weren't enough frying pans, we had planned to cook ourselves a full English but after looking at the one small dented frying pan realised this would not be possible. It was clean and comfy though and in a great location. The welcome pack was very useful. The free tickets to Sudely castle are a bonus too because it's very expensive to get in but well worth a visit.

A comfortable and well cottage

Lovely cottage and setting. Bedrooms and beds comfortable. Kitchen well equipped. Seating in sitting room could be firmer and high but just our preference. Agent very helpful we had to adjust the names of people who were accompanying us a week before, this was done with no fuss. Thank you. There is adequate parking at the rear of the property for 2 cars. The cottage is very close to the village with plenty of places for a meal out, and food shops for catering ar the cottage.

Indoors lovely - outdoors disappointing

The cottage was in a lovely setting near the castle and handy for visiting other attractions and villages in the Cotswolds. The cottage itself was lovely and had what we needed for our stay. The facilities were also sufficient for our needs. It was such a shame that the outdoor space was overgrown with weeds and was not a pleasant space to sit out, which given the excellent weather we had was a real pity. We did point this out on the first morning but they weren't sure if anything could be done for that week. Also the outside table really needs some work or replacing as it was also a bit scruffy. Overall we had a good stay and if the outdoor space is cleared and smartened up would have been excellent.

Very comfortable cottage

We enjoyed our stay at Anne Boleyn cottage! It's in a very attractive complex of cottages. It felt roomy enough for us three adults, but very cosy and convenient. Plenty of parking, and very quiet. No garden but a small area at the back to sit outside. Ten minutes' walk into Winchcombe, and about the same (or a very short drive if wet) to Sudeley Castle, which was the object of our stay. Fast wifi and comfy armchairs. A good property for a bit of peace and quiet.

High quality accommodation in excellent location

Our third visit with Bolthole Retreats. Despite, on this occasion, being woken each morning by nearby construction work, we enjoyed staying at the Anne Boleyn cottage which had everything we needed. We also found Winchcombe to be a great place to stay with a good selection of eateries and shops. We’re already planning another return visit

Charming little cottage in a courtyard setting

This is a charming, clean, comfortable and well appointed little cottage set in the Sudeley Castle Country Cottages courtyard. The location is quiet and it is very near to Winchcombe- pubs, restaurants and provisions just a walk to the high street. You don’t feel like you are in a town though as the cottage is in a small valley on the edge of the Sudeley estate. To have free entrance to the castle was brilliant and we spent two memorable days there. It is a place the is very tranquil and the views are beautiful- one of the best places we have ever visited. It is also a good base for exploring a little further afield- Winchcombe and it’s meteorite and St. Peter’s Church, Hailes Abbey, Stanway Fountain, Snowshill Manor, Seizencote, Kiftsgate Court Gardens and Hidcote gardens. I can highly recommend Bolthole Retreats as a company.

Perfect!

Beautiful clean and modern cottage within a few minutes walk of the town. Well equipped, comfy beds and great shower. Set in a really pretty courtyard and close to many walks Greeted with a bottle of bubbly for my husbands 50th which was a really lovely touch, thank you! Will certainly recommend and hopefully be back again.

Anne Boleyn cottage

The cottage is in a picturesque location next to Sudeley castle with country walks nearby The cottage is well equipped and warm and comfortable. It was spotlessly clean and provided a welcome pack as well as toiletries. The location is ideal for exploring the Cotswolds and also convenient for a short walk up hill into Winchcombe with plenty of places to eat and shop
