We had a wonderful stay at this property! Check-in was smooth and easy, and the home was exceptionally clean upon arrival. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortably accommodated our family.We especially enjoyed the screened-in porch throughout the day and into the evenings. The deep water off the dock was perfect for us, and having Blues Brothers Charter pick the guys up directly from the dock was incredibly convenient.The location was also great, with grocery stores only about 12 minutes away.The only thing I’ll mention is that we weren’t able to use our own free-and-clear laundry detergent. However, the property does provide detergent that is approved for use with their washer, so this wasn’t a major issue if you’re comfortable using what they provide.Overall, everything was great, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Been a great stay. We’ve come back a 2nd time and booked for next year already. Great cove, convenient to Eaton’s Ferry, Waterview Restaurant. Not that bad of a boat ride up to Shady Shack either.

Anne-Marie was a joy to work with. Extremely prompt communication, made sure items in the house were replaced (coffee maker broke during visit before ours and she had a new one delivered), provided a ton of info for our group and sought feedback for any improvements upon our check out. From a host perspective, she was perfect. The house was fantastic for our group of 3 families. We split the children with girls all in one room and boys all in the bunk room. They LOVED that. The downstairs living room was a great place for them to hang while the adults hung upstairs. From nights in the garage having games/competitions with our group, to renting a boat and spending the whole day on the dock and water, the house was perfect for our group. The location of the house in relation to the main lake, the marina, one eyed jacks and more was perfect. We kayaked and paddle boarded all around the inlet. We caught a monster catfish from the dock too! Our 13 year old cried at the end of our trip, it was that good. Thank you for a fantastic week in a fantastic house.

Amazing lake stay

Wonderful home in a great location!

Beautifully maintained home in Lake Gaston near grocery and perfect spot on the lake! We loved the ease of this home and have already booked it again!

Family Getaway

This was our first visit to Lake Gaston and we will definitely be going back! 5 Boys at the lake was perfect for our family. We were able to dock our boat right there at their dock, the kids loved fishing and swimming right there!

Wonderful stay! Several adults and teen youth group from church stayed for a weekend.

Everyone loved the home and setting. The teens loved the lake and the use of the canoes and paddle boards. House was clean, had great kitchen, and the screened in porch was where everyone gathered! Would love to stay again!!

Amazing week on the lake

The house was perfect and exactly as shown online. It was clean and comfortable. The dock was great to lay around and swim around. Perfect location on the lake for boating and jet ski (we rented both) We have rented many houses thru VRBO and this is my favorite so far. Great communication with owners.
We bought tubes to tie off and just float
Brought a tumble track to float on
Perfect spot to sit and fish
Having access to kayaks and paddle boards was a great plus

Another great year

2nd year in a row we've rented this property and it was perfect once again. Our group of 10 had plenty of space and the cove was nice and quiet for cruising and paddleboarding. Will definitely be coming back again next year!

Peaceful Relaxation

Situated on a quiet cove makes swimming, floating and relaxing kayak rides a daily treat! The large dock makes relaxing in the sun or shade possible! The huge screened in porch welcomed science experiments, magic shows, great conversation, family puzzle time and the perfect spot for our morning coffee and evening quiet time!! Comfortable beds gave us a wonderful nights sleep!! We will be back!!

Family Reunion

My family of 15 had a great stay during July 4 week. The house was very comfortable for our large family. The kitchen is well stocked, beds were comfortable and the downstairs work out great for the teenage grandchildren. The screen-in-porch was perfect for our evening family time. Very nice dock area with the covered roof and ceiling fans. Grandkids loved the kayaks, paddle boards and the game room. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful home on a wide lake cove

We enjoyed our stay and the property was as described. It had all the kitchen and other amenities we needed and we appreciated that we didn’t have to bring our own linens, hand soap, dish soap, etc. The huge screened porch was wonderful and we spent a lot of time there watching sunrises and sunsets and enjoying time as a group. We did encounter some wear (broken slider door handle, broken paddle board), and the owners responded immediately when notified of these issues. Overall, we would recommend staying here.

Friends week!

We had a fantastic stay with our friends! The dock was perfect - lots of space to swim around, and easy getting access with a boat rental! The kitchen was incredibly well stocked - we typically have to bring our own kitchen appliances/nicer knives but this kitchen had everything we needed. The garage fridge took a while to chill things, but by the 2nd day it was great! The wifi was also very strong, which was a huge plus for friends who did some remote work. We will absolutely book this house again!

This lake house felt like our home away from home.

Very comfortable house with plenty of room to gather or have you own space. The views from the back of the house overlooking the lake were always changing. The home was clean and the kitchen well stocked so we could cook any meal. Something you may want to keep in mind if you you want to spend more time at the lake. We did some meal prepping before arriving and finished here with no problem. It was nice to have the kayaks and paddle boards during the day and game room after our nightly bonfire. Very relaxing and wish we had one more day :). Hope to come back some day.

Great group house

My group of several families had a wonderful stay over Memorial Day weekend. The house is roomy and comfortable with great group kid sleeping options. The paddle boards and kayaks were great to have on hand and used a lot by our group. The outdoor firepit and indoor game room were fantastic. Our check in was delayed by several hours because the cleaners were not finished. We could not get a signal on the living room tv. We were outside most of the time so it didn’t matter. Overall recommend!

Peaceful Bliss!

We had a wonderful week at "5 Boys on the Lake"!! The home is even nicer in person. The screen porch was our favorite room for all 11 of us to be together eating, playing games, watching the storms pass through and simply just being together!! The dock also had plenty of room for all of us to hang and and be together, whether in the water or sitting on furniture provided (the hammock swings were definitely showing their wear and tear!). Our 6 yo granddaughter loved mastering the youth-sized kayak!! Though this house faces west, the trees and the shade of the dock provide all the shade you need during the day and then lovely sunsets were enjoyed in the evening. We hope to come back again!!

Nice house

The house was clean and nice. The deck was a little worn and not much room for boats to be docked especially if kids want to jump off the dock. Wakes could get pretty rough with all the wake boats in the cove. Apparently, you can't use the community boat ramp so you have to launch a few miles away. Very rude resident told us we weren't allowed to use the ramp. I was under the assumption we were guests of the house owner and should be allowed to use the ramp. The book at the house didn't say one way or the other but the gate was unlocked. Overall it was nice and would recommend.

Very nice place to stay

I only gave 4 stars vs. 5 for 1 reason...when we arrived at this house for our week stay i went down to the dock to look things over and noticed there was already a boat in the covered slip. When I contacted the owner she replied "that is our boat, we do not provide a covered slip." My family has been renting houses at Gaston for 10+ years and have never rented a home that didn't provide a covered slip. The overview on this house now states that the slip is not included. Wish the overview stated that information before we booked. They do provide mooring whips which worked great but our boat was exposed to all the elements for a week which is not ideal for a boat. Otherwise, we really liked this house. They do provide paddle boards and kayaks which everyone loved. The kitchen is very well stocked and labeled. One unique thing about this house is that they supply all linens and they are already on the beds! We would rent this house again if a covered slip were provided.
